Went out an took a few pictures of our gardens this morning. A couple of the pumpkin patch and the pole beans, along with a couple of others. So thought I would share. It has been one of the best years since we moved here to Port Loring for vegetable growing. Click pictures to enlarge.
You know for years I have said that we should be very careful on how we let other countries like China for example dictate to us, and be very weary of what they are doing to our society behind close doors. For most parts these folks are very good at what they do and if left, we will soon find we are not a country of what we think we are. Simple as that. Take farming for instance, most of our small farmers have gone out of business but the grocery stores are still full. That in itself should tell you that things aren’t what they should be. We are being over run by other countries for a reason. The reason is they get rich and we become less self efficient and now are dependent on them. Not a good thing folks. Now in saying that take a look at this article that came out this morning. As it says this is just the tip of the iceberg what lays beneath is much much more. My opinion only.
China’s influence over Western politicians runs deeper than controversial claims made by the head of Canada’s spy agency, Tory MP Rob Anders alleges.
In an interview with Epoch Times, an international newspaper founded by Falun Gong supporters, Anders suggested politicians and government officials from Canada and other Western countries are being wooed with extravagant gifts, beautiful young women and too-good-to-be-true business deals.
“The reach is deep, and it’s very unfortunate,” Anders told the newspaper.
“I would argue that I’ve seen things happen on a federal level as well in our own government.
“And so I think there’s a lot more than he has even mentioned,” the Calgary MP added, referring to Canadian Security Intelligence Service director Richard Fadden.
“I think that Mr. Fadden only gingerly scratched the surface. I feel for him that he was dragged before an investigative committee with Parliament to have to explain, and I think that this situation is far worse than what he let on.”
You know there is outhouses and then there are outhouses. A really good friend of mine here in Port Loring that owns a resort took an old outhouse and you could say gave it a face lift. He did leave the bit of a tilt to it which is a good thing, as I never ever really seen a true outhouse perfectly straight. What I been tellin’ ya for the past four years that sunshine is good for ya, not bad as the Powers That Be would like you to believe. Listen to your body, it’s tellin’ ya it wants sunshine.it craves it and needs it to stay healthy.
Exposure to sunlight, we are often told, is dangerous and can lead to melanoma, also known as skin cancer. But a group of U.K. researchers recently published a report in the British Journal of Dermatology decrying the scare campaigns put out by government and cancer societies that warn against the supposed dangers of sun exposure. Contrary to popular belief, sun exposure can actually decrease the likelihood of developing malignant melanomas. Sam Shuster, one of the study researchers, and his colleagues are tired of hearing about the 84,000 “skin cancers” that appear each year from sun exposure, because almost all of them are harmless. Malignant melanomas are simply not caused by sun exposure, despite what the “experts” claim. In reality, malignant melanomas tend to shrink back from sun exposure, as do many other harmful cancers in the body.
But the myth that the sun causes malignant cancers continues to persist, even though it is patently false. Excess sun exposure, especially if you lack proper nutrients and fail to let your body grow accustomed to the sun, can cause harmful sunburns. But gradually and regularly exposing your skin to the sun without burning it will only help you, not hurt you.
Now I know a lot of you folks out there would like to believe that this getting older doesn’t bother you. But for me, well I am not saying getting older bothers me just certain things get to me once in awhile./ For Example.

Recently, I was diagnosed with A…A.A.D.D. –
Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.
This is how it manifests:
I decide to water my garden .
As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.
As I start toward the garage,
I notice mail on the porch table that
I brought up from the mail box earlier.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys on the table,
put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table,
and notice that the can is full.
So, I decide to put the bills
back
on the table and take out the garbage first.
But then I think,
since I’m going to be near the mailbox
when I take out the garbage anyway,
I may as well pay the bills first.
I take my check book off the table,
and see that there is only one check left.
My extra checks are in my desk in the study,
so I go inside the house to my desk where
I find the can of Coke I’d been drinking.
I’m going to look for my checks,
but first I need to push the Coke aside
so that I don’t accidentally knock it over.
The Coke is getting warm,
and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke,
a vase of flowers on the counter
catches my eye–they need water.
I put the Coke on the counter and
discover my reading glasses that
I’ve been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk,
but first I’m going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter,
fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.
I realize that tonight when I go to watch TV,
I’ll be looking for the remote,
but I won’t remember that it’s on the kitchen table,
so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs,
but first I’ll water the flowers.
I pour some water in the flowers,
but quite a bit of it spills on the floor.
So, I set the remote back on the table,
get some towels and wipe up the spill.
Then, I head down the hall trying to
remember what I was planning to do.
At the end of the day:
the car isn’t washed
the bills aren’t paid
there is a warm can of
Coke sitting on the counter
the flowers don’t have enough water,
there is still only 1 check in my check book,
I can’t find the remote,
I can’t find my glasses,
and I don’t remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,
I’m really baffled because I know I was busy all damn day,
and I’m really tired.
I know everyone has a problem every so often eating things they shouldn’t. I now have figured out why and what these extra calories really are.

Overuse of antibiotics encourages the evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, also known as “superbugs,” which are far more dangerous than their antibiotic-sensitive relatives.
In addition, pharmacists regularly violate the law by selling antibiotics without prescriptions to those — including doctors — who wish to self-medicate. In an experiment by the Daily Telegraph, three out of five pharmacists questioned were willing to do so.
Combined with widespread agricultural use, these practices have turned China into an ideal breeding ground for antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
“Over just the last five years, for example, our studies show the rate antibiotic-resistant e. coli has quadrupled from 10 percent to 40 percent.”

Well it’s about time we went out and bought something that is worth while. The 65 new Fighter Jets are just a small part of what should be replace. In most countries we have been the laughing stock of the world. Think about this. 22 Billion dollars blown by the Liberals starting the war in Afghanistan to begin with.
It’s also ok for the Liberals to spend another 22 billion a year on harmless green house items and tax, tax, tax, to make our Powers That Be, wealthy.
The Liberals say, “don’t buy any jets, its better to complain about the torturing of the Taliban and leave the Canadian soldiers for dead using in antiquated equipment.” Some equipment so old that they are literally falling apart.
Kind of wonder what the Liberals will complain about next. Bottom line is……. they love attacking the Conservatives, they are famous for that. They also spend billions of dollars on anything and everything that will get them elected and not what is good for the country. I believe that we should protect and enhance the earth, to preserve it for future generations. To do so we must not rely on other countries to do it for us, as we have been doing now for the past thirty years or so. Some say that praying and letting things work itself out will look after things. I say that is a bunch of, well you know what. It’s like the old farmer out in the garden. Fellow came by and said. ” My friend I see the Lord has given you a beutiful garden there this year.” The old farmer scratched his face and said. “Don’t know about that. But you should have seen what it looked like when he was doing it on his own before I got here.” In other words we are the ones that gets things done, not no Higher Power. Sitting on our rumps doesn’t get things done, doesn’t save lives doesn’t make this earth a better place to live on. Live today as it’s your last and in doing so your world will become a better place. My Opinion Only as usual.
If there is one thing that stands out among the rest which we should be up in arms about is, Genetically Modified Food. If we let this to continue we will be at the mearsy of every drug company in the world. Not a good thing folks as if allowed to continue these Powers That Be will be able to control the food chain. . They can then inject the seeds with what ever they want you to eat. Control of human beings. That in my mind is what it is all about. Below is a few things that you should know but there is hundreds of other things too. I will bring them to your attention as time goes by. Best thing you can do is not buy anything that has been modified. You body will be glad you did. My Opinion Only.
1. Genetically engineered food does not have to be labeled.
2. Most processed foods (boxed cereals, chips, cookies, frozen dinners, etc.) utilize corn, soy, canola and cottonseed oil which all have genetically modified ingredients.
3. High levels of pesticides are used in GMOs.
4. Use of antibiotics in GMO development – problem there being low-doses of antibiotics in foods make antibiotics less effective in humans. So when you realy need them they won’t work.
5. New intolerance to allergies – crossing plant genes bring on new strains of allergies in consumers.
So don’t be fooled folks, your the only ones that can make it all go away.
Research has suggested cruciferous vegetables (which include broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kale and cabbage) have potent cancer-fighting properties. For example, there’s evidence now that broccoli sprouts can stop the colonization of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a type of bacteria believed to trigger cases of stomach cancer as well as many ulcers. Also tomaotes and brocccoli together in my eyes are the best protection that anyone could eat for most all cancers. One bowl full twice a week is all that is required. Now I been saying this for years just no one seems to listen. But then again who am I just an old feller that has grown my own food for most my life.

In the last months we have provided aid to
Haiti , Chile , and Turkey .
Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’
receive no aid nor do they get any breaks
while our government and religious
organizations pour Hundreds of Millions of
$$$$$’s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!
We have hundreds of adoptable children
who are shoved aside to make room for
the adoption of foreign orphans.
CANADA: a country where we have
homeless without shelter, children going
to bed hungry, elderly going without
‘needed’ meds, and mentally ill without
treatment -etc,etc.
YET……………….
They have a ‘Benefit’ for the people of Haiti
on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining
up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding,,
doctors and medical supplies.
Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave ‘US’
the same support they give to other
countries.
Sad isn’t it?
Actual house sales activity was down 19.7% in June 2010 from a year ago, but the price of a home has rose just 4.9% from a year ago. Now if a feller or gal gets to lookin’ at these figures it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the problem here. First off the new HST didn’t help any, but the main reason is that homes today are selling for way to much money and folks have reached their limits of how much they can put towards a home. Simple as that. One other thing that has caught my attention is that the homes of today are twice the size as one needs. Today though one doesn’t think ahead, they go for looks, keeping up with the Jone’s and things like that. Big homes that could hold around fifteen people with only two to four living in them. The upkeep alone would put a feller or gal in the poor house. My Opinion Only

You know my wife can go outside and within ten minutes have a vase of flowers like this sittin’ on the table waitin’ to be enjoyed. She mixes them up with wild flowers and others from our gardens and walla’….. there you have it. Once done I get to sit back and admire them for days on end throughout the summer months. You know……… Canada is about the only country in the world that Governments can raise taxes without anyone raising a stink about it. For most parts most folks think taxes is a good thing and they benefit from them. Let me tell ya you have all been deceived. Take this new Eco Tax. This is one of the biggest money grabs of all times. What should happen is that folks should rebel and not pay the tax. Trouble is most folks here in Canada are in love with tax. Some say, well this tax helps the environment. Wrong, for most parts any of these schemes that have been implemented on helping the environment is all just a big hoax. A hoax to take the money out of a working man and gal’s pocket and put it into the p0ckets of the Powers That Be, simple as that. Today a lot of folks in my mind has blinders on, and simply put don’t want to know right from wrong. Justice if for all but trouble is justice today is what our Powers That Be want it to be, not what it should be. Below is a short list of what this new Eco Tax as some call it will be charged on. On top of that we have the HST and now coming soon the Emssions tax and then the new Smart Meters. What can one do??? Well for one thing get out there and vent let them know your feelings, don’t just sit back and let it pass as a church social, do your thing, you have rights to speak out, so do it. Oh and the biggest thing one could do I suppose would be that come election time find a man or gal that is against all these taxes and one that will stop them. Not sure if that is possible now though as pretty well all politicians are out there to make money one way or another. One thing is for sure…. this Dalton Gang has to go, Ontario has never been so far in debt, folks out of work, businesses closing up, just to many to name. What’s it take for some folks to open their eyes?

Well been a long time coming but are now getting some new pavement. Miller Paving is doing the work and I have to say they are doing a fantastic job. Great outfit, I would have to recommend them if your in the need of any paving or construction work. Great fellows. The work you see here is being done in front of our home on the bend of the HWY, just past the Shell on the right heading west. A lot of folks that read my column say it’s Walters Bend.
