NORAD, Santa News, Weather & Hunting Times For Port Loring, Monday, December 12 2011

Good morning. Cloudy out there this morning and will probably stay that way most of the day.  I do suspect a bit of sunshine later on but one will have to wait and see.  Temperature is going to reach 38 °f and then drop to 34 °f  later on this evening. So not a bad day or night, above freezing all the way.  The barometer is steady sitting at 29:44 in Hg this morning.  Winds are coming in from the west at around      5 MPH and calm.  For the hunters out there the old weather stick says the best times to be out there will be from 2:01 PM – 4:01 PM and out of five I give it a four star rating.  So should be a great day for hunting.  I would also like to mention here I will stop the hunting times around Christmas, but don’t despair as I will then start to enter the best times to be out there ice fishing.  The moon will rise at 6:46 PM & Set: 9:19 AM
Overhead: 1:35 AM
Underfoot: 2:01 PM

The sun got out of bed this morning at 7:51 AM & will set at 4:33 PM, giving us 8 hrs.      42 mins of daylight.

  News Around Port Loring

Well quiet is the word.  Hardly any traffic even going up and down the road these days.  But then again this is that time of year that most folks head off to the city to do their shopping and things.  Also I would like to inform you that my Son Karl, that works for NORAD in North Bay, says that they are all set to track Santa again this year and if needed they will be there to help him. One can never be to careful these days.   We are very lucky we have them folks to keep an eye on old Santa, let me tell ya.  Here is a web site you can go to that will show you the exact number of days till Santa starts his yearly journey.   http://www.noradsanta.org/en/   Santa trackers will begin answering phones and replying to emails at 4:00 a.m. MST (6:00 a.m. EST) on Christmas Eve. Children of all ages can call the NTS toll free number 1-877-Hi-NORAD (1-877-446-6723) or send an email to [email protected]. Hope you young ones have all been good this year, as Santa is kind of partial to those that have been nice.  Myself I have already made up my Christmas list of the things I would like and sent it along to the big guy.  Now just got to keep my fingers crossed.   Have a great day my friends.
