Good morning.  Looks like a bit of weather is upon us here in Port Loring.  Winds out there this morning are coming in from the North West at around 15 MPH.  Gust are near 25 MPH.  There is a winter storm warning up for our area this morning but with the temperatures sitting at 34 degrees it is a mixed bag of weather out there.  Rain, snow, sleet you name it.  Don’t think we will get to much in accumulations of snow unless the temperature starts to drop which it will do later on this evening.  So it will be a wait and see.  Barometer is falling and at the moment sitting at 28.91 in Hg.  Highway 522 is snow covered.  The moon will rise today at        1:04 PM and then set at 3:42 AM.  It will be overhead at 8:48 PM &  underfoot at 8:22 AM.  Moon Phase today is Solunar Table Moon Phase is 75% percent waxing gibbous  75%  Waxing  Gibbous.  The sun did rise this morning behind some clouds at 6:53 AM and will set at  6:08 PM, giving us 11 hrs. 15 mins. of daylight here in Port Loring this morning.  For the ones still wanting to go ice fishing today the best times will be from 8:00 AM till 10:00 AM then again from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM.  One should take care if out there on the ice today with things blowing around.

News For Port Loring & District

Heavy snow, sometimes accompanied by lightning and thunder in a few locales, occurred throughout the night. The snow will continue for much of the day in most areas. A further 5 to 10 centimetres of snow are expected today bringing the total snowfall amounts to between 15 and 25 cm by this evening.  Now in saying all this, one should take into consideration that 25 cm is only 9 inches old scale.  For one I believe this metric was only brought into our country to deceive folks and if you sit back do some thinking on the subject you will see what my meaning is.  Take a look at the gas, speed limits, wind speeds, temperatures you name it. The truth is right there, one just has to look.  My Opinion Only.  Have a great day and stay safe.
