Happenings In Port Loring Ontario

Morning. Well rain is still upon us.  Yesterday we had around 18mm of the wet stuff.  Through the night we had another 8mm and will see what the day brings us. Temperatures were quite warm through the night and waking up they were reading…22.7 C | 72.86 F.  Quite damp,  which in turn gets the old bones to aching a touch.  But things will improve body wise in a few days, when the wet weather moves out of the area.

Forecast For Today: Stormy, much rain off and on all day and into tonight.

Bug Report:  With all the wet weather things have quieted down some. Mosquitoes though, if out in the bush can still irritate a feller or gal.  Once the sun comes back on line and the dragon flies make an appearance once again, them blood sucking parasites will see their just reward.   Works that way with every species, even us humans.  Makes me smile thinking about it.

Fishing Times:   Well don’t think too many folks will be out there today, but then again one never knows, there are some that fishes all weather.  Myself I tend to seek out the nicer days, along with the fishing times.  I figure anything that expands my chances is worth taking into account.  Anyway, today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 7:00 AM – 10:30 AM.  Then again from 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM.  I give it a 1 fish rating out of 4 for catching them.  Not the greatest day for sure for bringing them in.  But in saying that….good luck.

Around Town:  Quiet this year starting out.  But then…it is only the first week into the main holiday season.  Mother Nature has a way of changing folks minds and drawing them into her arms, even if it is for only a few weeks each year. I have to say though that our Native American Flutes this year are on top of folks things to purchase.  We have exceeded our expectations already and we are just starting.  I guess the word is spreading, which in my mind proves that word of mouth is the best advertising one can have.  Put that together with 45 years of making them a feller should be doing quite well. This year we have added some new flutes to our assortment…being…Branch Flutes.  Each branch is carefully selected, dried and brought to life. Very, very hard to make and bring into sound, but when completed there is no other sound on earth like them, each flute being one of a kind, which can never to be duplicated.  Mother Nature is surely amazing, if us humans work with her, not against her.  Below I have added some picture which will show you the quality of my work.  Click each picture to enlarge.  Enjoy your day my friends.   GW
