Happenings In And Around Port Loring

Good Morning:  Well very cold morning here in Port Loring for Friday the 13th.  We get two this year one next month to.  So lots of good luck coming my way.  Not sure why but for our family good things usually happen on them days.  Been that way for over sixty years.  Anyways…waking up temperatures were sitting at, -32.5 C | -26.5 F. Just about the coldest day so far this winter.  Will continue very cold all weekend into next week.  So dress warm.

Forecast For Today:  Should see some sunshine today off and on but more snow is moving in for later on today and overnight:  There are extreme cold weather warnings up for most of Ontario at the moment.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is covered with hard packed snow with some icy sections throughout.  Care should be taken if travelling but should be OK.

Ice Fishing Times:  Well if you do decide to head on out today braving the cold, the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM.  Then once again a bit later from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM.  I give it a 4 fish rating out of 5 this morning for catching a few and a 5 fish rating out of 5 this afternoon.  Good Luck!

Around Town:  For myself our driveway is in need of cleaning. But thinking should wait till tomorrow with more snow coming.  Also being so cold makes a feller kind of want to stay inside where it’s warm.  So have a great day, and if you are going outside keep your face covered with a scarf till your lungs gets adjusted to the cold temperatures.  Don’t need anyone getting sick. And wear a hat!!! You can reach George Walters at [email protected]
