Port Loring Information July 7/2016

Good Morning: I have to say this rain we have had in the past few days sure made my vegetable garden get to growing. Tomatoes love hot weather and as long as one keeps them watered in the dry times, they will be rewarded down the road aways. This morning I have some signs to cut out as the wife has some orders to fill. Then will get to working on my Native American Flutes. In between doing that a bit of fishing is in order. Haven’t been out this year yet, as every-time my old fishing buddy Barry dropped around to see if I wanted to go something went wrong. But I am ready now ha ha. One has to take advantage of the nice days here in the north. I did pick up a few nice lures this spring so can’t wait to put them to work. Nothing nicer than to have a nice pickerel or large mouth bass sitting on a plate come supper time. I enjoy the fish for sure but I also enjoy being out there with my friends. Have a great day. GW

Words Of Wisdom: A lot of folks go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

Weather Forecast: Today we will see a mixture of clouds and sunshine. Quite cloudy and damp waking up here this morning.

Rain Accumulations:  We had 14mm of rain overnight. Nice soaking rain too which makes it just that much better.

Bug Report: For most parts things are good in the insect department but with this rain the mosquitoes could start to annoy folks in certain areas.

Fishing Report:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 8:14 AM – 10:14 AM. Then again a bit later from 2:46 PM – 5:46 PM. I give it a 3 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few. Remember this as it was told to me many years ago. Fish are on three levels of most rivers or lakes. Some near the surface, some half way and some near the bottom. Trick is to try the different levels till you find them. Let me know how you do. Good Luck!

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and slick this morning with the rain we had through the night. After a dry spell the rain the roads can be quite slick. Care should be taken if out and about.
