Cool morning waking up with temperatures sitting at 10.1 C | 50.18 F. Still having to turn on the furnace in the morning to warm things up, so we are comfortable. Amazing and this is the middle of June. Today we will see some sunshine with clouds. Temperatures will warm up a wee bit. Tonight we can expect some more rain with temperatures dropping and cooler weather with a possible shower tomorrow. There are a few cars moving up and down the Highway these days and customers are slowly coming into our store. I can’t say I blame folks for staying home with these temperatures, and all the rain we been having. Then to top it off the black flies and mosquitoes. Let’s hope we have some nicer weather for July and August. We deserve it. Today I will do some more shop work, I put in a full day out there yesterday and got a lot done. Orders are still coming in which is a good thing. With that I am off for my morning coffee and will let the day unfold around me. GW

Another rainy cool day here waking up, with temperatures sitting at 14.1 C | 57.38 F. Heavy rain is expected to move into the area early this morning and continue into Friday morning. Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 millimetres with locally higher amounts are expected. Crazy weather. Last year so hot you could hardly stand it and so dry we had dozens of forest fires. This year just the opposite. On another note the Black Flies are still out in full force with the mosquitoes helping them out. Isn’t very nice out there at the moment. Today being so wet I will do some shop work on orders I have. Nice to have a place to do things on days like this, or throughout the cold winter months. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee. GW

We woke up to some sunshine but cool temperatures are still with us. A bit of heat this morning is still warranted. Just think two more months, and we are back into Fall temperatures. Makes Florida look that much better. Temperatures were sitting at 13.3 C | 55.94 F. It is supposed to warm up some as the day moves forward. Then Tomorrow, Friday and into Saturday, more clouds, cooler and showers. Today I am thinking I will mow my grass. Take advantage of the nice day. Gardens are growing pretty good in spite of the cool wet weather. We should be eating some fresh salads in a couple weeks. Tomatoes though will be held back a week or so this year. They like it hot with lots of water. Black Flies are still out in swarms along with the mosquitoes. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee. GW

This morning we woke up to a few clouds with some sunshine thrown in for good measure. Temperatures were sitting at 10.6 C | 51.08 F. It will warm up a bit more, and we should see sun and a few clouds for most the day. Tomorrow will be like today. Both days we could have a brief shower. Highway 522 is good to go, or should say from Highway 11 in is fine, but the other way from Highway 69 in, is a mess with pot holes all over the place. You have to take care if coming in from that direction. The black flies are still with us along with the Mosquitoes. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and think on what I would like to do today. GW

Rainy day this morning. Will be much of the same for most the day. Hard to believe, but we could use some rain for the gardens. It’s amazing just how fast our soil in our area drys out. Reason being it consists of lots of sand. Temperatures aren’t to bad sitting at 18.7 C | 65.66 F. Tomorrow we should see some more sunshine. Black flies and Mosquitoes are still with us. Will be nice when they ease off. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will see what I can get into today. I have some orders to fill for folks so maybe I will make some sawdust in a bit. GW

Another really nice day here waking up. Temperatures were sitting at18.5 C | 65.3 F. It will actually get quite warm today if things goes to plan. Then rain tomorrow and cooler temperatures will be with us for the rest of the week. Crazy weather. Sure isn’t going to be nice weather for the tourists that come to our area now and then. But not much we can do about it. On another note I did manage to get all my decks stained yesterday figuring they finally were dry and had a couple days to dry even further once finished. They turned out great and even the black flies held off till I was finished. Worked out great all in all. Today I have some shop work to do then will take it a bit easy for the rest of the day. Another beautiful sunny day here in Port Loring. Temperatures were sitting at 15.8 C | 60.44 F. It will warm up even more as the day progresses. Great day to do some travelling if your in need of some things. Myself I am going to do some work around the house here and take in this beautiful weather. Black flies and Mosquitoes are still with us in full force. Almost impossible to get away from them. Yesterday we took a day trip to Coldwater Ontario to see a friend of ours and my old homestead. We had a great visit and got caught up with things. I sometimes think we humans don’t visit enough with our very good friends which in turn isn’t a good thing. One just never knows these days. It was a great day, sunny, warm, car run great and seen some new things. Gas prices down there are a lot cheaper than up here, we filled up at the Shell Station there in town for 1.13 a litre. Some places along Highway 69 were charging 1.46 and some even more. Gouging the traveller for sure. No reason for it. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and a bite to eat. GW

Tomorrow and the weekend is looking great for a change. Then come Monday things change back to not so good for a wee bit. Weird weather for sure. Cloudy morning waking up here in Pot Loring Ontario. A bit cool with temperatures sitting at 9.2 C | 48.56 F. The sad part of things is that most of us have been having to heat our homes. At any rate there is nothing much we can do about it other than complain now and then. Which is a good thing, gets rid of stress. LOL But on the good side of things tomorrow the weather will turn around, and we should get some sunny warm days. I did get the rain that was needed to water all my plants in the vegetable garden that I just planted. That saved me a bit of work. It won’t be long, and we will have fresh salads once again for the table. Our tulips are looking really nice this year especially the yellow ones. The black flies are still with us along with the mosquitoes. Great weather for them. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and think on what I want to do today. Nice to be able to do that. I could use a wee bit for my vegetable garden we just planted as it would save me watering them all. After tomorrow, we should see some really nice weather and it looks like a great weekend is shaping up. About time, I am still burning oil to keep warm in the mornings. Temperatures waking up this morning were sitting at 9.9 C | 49.82 F. Highway 522 is good these days for travelling. Black flies and mosquitoes are out in droves, and they will continue to be with us for another week or so. Maybe longer if the weather doesn’t improve. What we need is for the Dragon Flies to enter into the picture as they do eat a ton of them blood sucking parasites. But after that it should start to warm up. Actually they are calling for some flurries for North Bay this morning and this is June. Temperatures were a touch cool here too sitting at 6.3 C | 43.34 F. Travelling should be good to go. Might be a good day for those wanting to go to North Bay for items of choice. With that I am off for my morning coffee and see what the day has in store for us. GW

Well we woke up to another beautiful day. Temperatures were sitting at 13.3 C | 55.94 F. It is rising fast so should be nice to sit outside if you can find a place where the mosquitoes and black flies can’t find you. I took a few pictures of a few things this morning and just about got eaten alive. Just can’t get away from them. Travelling should be good. We did manage to plant our vegetable gardens yesterday, it was a chore but it got done. Now it is up to Nature to do the rest other than a bit of hoeing now and then. Nothing like fresh veggies for the table every day. The best part is they are free and you know what you are eating. I have to admit I pig out on salads over the summer months. Today I might just take things a bit easy. Give the old body a rest as I have been pushing it the last few days. With that I am off for an Italian Coffee with my lovely wife, and will let the day unfold around us. GW

Well look at that, we are starting off our day with sunshine for a change. Sure is nice to see. Temperatures were sitting at 11.3 C | 52.34 F A touch cool but it will warm up shortly which should make a great day, other than the Black flies and Mosquitoes. The only way to beat them a wee bit is to wear a bug jacket that fits snugly around your wrists. Travelling should be good today so no reason not to head off to town for supplies and things. My wife and I went a couple days ago, so we are good for a couple weeks. Yesterday we cleaned up around the house here and I finally got our vegetable garden tilled up. Took me three times over to get it to where I like it. This morning we will get to planting our vegetables. There is nothing nicer or healthier than a fresh salad right from your garden topped off with a slice of a homegrown tomato. That is if you don’t cover your plants with chemical fertilizers or pesticides. With that I am off for my morning coffee. Nothing finer than a fresh pot of Italian Coffee to start the day.
