Morning report July 1/2020

Good Morning!. Well … it’s another great looking morning for us here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shinning and temperatures at the time of this post were sitting at 18.3 C | 64.94 F. It will warm up as the day moves forward with a heat warning in effect, until sometime next week. I have to admit it was really warm yesterday. But we did get some front porch sittin’ in though, which was nice. Too hot to do much work around the house though, so for most of the day we took things a bit easy inside where it was cool. Today will be much of the same. Highway 522 is busy these days with folks moving around a lot. The black-flies are all but gone and the mosquitoes are slowing down with this heat. But in saying that the horse and deer flies are starting to be annoying for some folks. Not much a person can do about that. On a good note the gardens are growing leaps and bounds, and I suspect my tomato plants will start showing some blossoms soon … which hopefully with bring on some nice tomatoes for sandwiches with in a few weeks. The grass also has slowed down, which will make the work load each week ease off for a spell. The daisies and butter cups are out in full bloom which is nice to see. I would have to say they are my favourite of all the wild flowers other than the Dandelion. Nature is nice if you take the time to seek things out. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife on the front porch before it gets too warm. Take care, stay safe, do what’s right and don’t go into any stores, unless it is absolutely necessary. GW
