What’s Happening on January 29/2022

Good Morning! It’s a darn cold morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. So cold, the icicles have packed up and moved out of town. Can’t say I blame them, neither. Ha Ha. However, the sun is shinning, which I suppose is something to be desired. Highway 522 is snow and ice covered from one end to the other, so care will have to be taken. But other than the cold, travelling should be pretty good if you take it easy.

Being so cold, I had to get up a few times through the night to put a bit of extra wood in our wood furnace. While up, I took some temperature readings, which went something like this.

-29.9 C | -21.82 F 12:28 AM
-31.7 C | -25.06 F 2:14 AM
-34 C | -29.2 F 5:40 AM
-34.5 C | -30.1 F 6:21 AM
-34.8 C | -30.64 F 8:16 AM

So as you can see, it got cold and stayed cold all night long, and it’s still darn cold out there now. It will warm up a bit as the day moves forward. Tonight shouldn’t be as cold, but it will be cold enough.

The oil and gas companies are loving this weather. It never ceases to amaze me, that we here in Canada have more natural resource’s, like oil, gas and things, and we here in Canada pay the most money for it. You would think they would give us a break from all these high prices. If they did that, this country would move ahead leaps and bounds. But if they did that, they wouldn’t be able to collect trillions of dollars in tax money, so they can give it away. And they aren’t giving the money away to the working man, or woman that are paying all these taxes, that’s for damn sure.

Have a great day, stay safe and dress warm, if out and about. GW
