What’s Happening In & Around Port Loring, Ontario, Canada on Nov 18/2022

Good Morning!

It’s a cold morning here, waking up in Port Loring. Not as cold as Alaska, though, which is a good thing. Although we can get some temperatures that make a feller want to stay in bed occasionally. Seems every passing year, the cold bothers me more. The temperature waking up was sitting at -10.3 C | 13.46 F. It will warm up as the day moves forward. Later on today and through the night, we could see a substantial amount of snow. It depends on if the winds pick up, which can bring in some lake effects. We will have to wait it out to see how much. At any rate, I am thinking I should wake up my snowblower and bring it in where it’s warm for a bit, and then see if it is going to run. Here again, you never know what a machine is going to do in this neck of the woods. Sometimes they start and run just fine. Other times they get a bit cantankerous. Highway 522 is bare and dry for most parts this morning, but there are a few icy sections here and there. So care will have to be taken if out and about. But in saying that, here in the north, care should be taken all the time, no matter where you are going, or what you are doing. You just never know.

Today I am going to see if I can rearrange my woodworking shop a bit, so that I can get my snowblower and my ATV inside where it’s warm. That will be a challenge as my shop is small. Might not be able too. We will see. I hate leaving the equipment I need out in the cold. Next spring I will see about building a place to put things. I am hoping the price of lumber will come down, as right now you have to be rich to do any building. With that, I am off for a bite to eat, and will then head on out to my shop. It should be nice and toasty in there now, I put some wood in the old stove earlier this morning. Stay Safe.

In Closing, I Would Like To Wish You Well!
