Information For Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:  One great looking day out there.  Starting off temperatures were sitting at 18.9 C | 66.02 F.

Forecast For Thursday:  Unsettled, short fine intervals.  Won’t be quite as warm today as the last few days.

Bug Report: Things are good these days.  No reason not to visit the north.  Fresh air, sunshine with clear skies all in abundance.  Great place to visit, or live for that matter.

Highway Report:  Good day for travelling.  Few critters out and about so care should be taken along the northern highways.

Fishing Information:  This morning the old weather stick along with gathered data is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 6:00 AM – 9:30 AM.  Then once again from 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM.  I give it a 3 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  Things will improve quite a bit for the rest of the summer.  Good Luck!

Around Town:  Lots of tourists and day trippers in and around our area. Our store has been doing a brisk business.  Good to see. On another note we did have a bit of rain last night which gave the plants a drink.  Not as much as I would have liked to see but a little is better than nothing.  Amazing how things can come back with just a touch of water.  With that a tea is in order.  Going to take it and sit outside and take in some of our cooler northern air.  Enjoy your day and stay safe if out and about.  Inquiries: [email protected]

Happenings For Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:  Well good looking day.  Starting things off temperatures were sitting at 19.2 C | 66.56 F at 8:00 AM.

Forecast For Today.  Few clouds and once again it will be very very warm.  Heat advisories are up in certain areas through the north.   There is no rain in the forecast for the next few days.

Bug Report.  Other than a few deerflies things are pretty good these days.  The heat of summer is taking care of the mosquitoes.  Okay by me.

Highway Report.  Highway 522 is bare and dry throughout. Critters are crossing here and there.  Travelling will be good other than the heat.  Also for those that loose their temper easily take things cool.  Rushing never brings on anything positive.

Fishing Report:  Fishing has slowed down some with the heat that is upon us. Like us humans fish aren’t as hungry in this kind of weather.  But if one seeks them out you might be lucky enough to catch a few.  Today the old weather stick along with gathered data is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM.  Then once again from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few this morning and a 3 fish rating out of 5 this afternoon.  Good Luck.

Around Town:  I have to say things are a bit slow in our area this season this far.  But thinking now that the Pan AM games are over it will improve starting this weekend.  Also should mention with the dry weather we been having care should be taken if having a camp fire.  Wouldn’t take much to start things off.  Gardens also are in dire need of some rain but it looks like they will be depending on us for the next few days.  With that tea time here and will see how the day unfolds around me.  Enjoy your day and don’t over do things. Good Morning:  Nice looking day out there this morning.  Temperatures cooled down a touch overnight which made it nice for sleeping.  At the time of this post it was sitting at19.3 C | 66.74 F.

Forecast For Monday:  Going to be a hot one today. Yesterday was warm, today even warmer.  Could reach as high as 37 C / 97 F.  Directly in the sun even higher.  There is a heat warning up for some areas.   Stay where it is cool my friends this kind of weather doesn’t take long to drain a person.

Bug Report:  Few Deerflies annoying folks near the water or the tree lines.  Mosquitoes are being kept at bay with this heat.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry.  Travelling will be good other than the heat.  Hard day for the cars and trucks being so hot.

Fishing Information:  This morning the old weather stick is saying the best time to be out there will be from 4:00 PM – 800 PM.  I give it a 3 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  Good Luck.

Around Town: Well with this heat upon us being outside in the sun isn’t recommended.  Plants are wilting and need of water bad. Feel sorry for them.  Myself I do have some outside work to do but will work in the shade.  No use making oneself sick.  Also good idea to close up the house like curtains and things which will help in keeping the house cool.  With that have a great day.  Inquiries:  [email protected]

Information For Port Loring July 26/2015

Good Morning:  Nice looking day out there so far.  Waking up temperatures were sitting at     17.4 C | 63.32 F.

Forecast For Sunday:  Unsettled, short fine intervals.  Things will warm up considerably for the next four days.  Temperatures could rise as high as 32 C / 92 F.  Even warmer in the sunshine.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 was quite busy late in the day yesterday pertaining to an accident around 2 p.m. on Highway 69, about three kilometres south of Pointe au Baril, in Shawanaga Township.   I guess a pick-up truck tried to pass a couple campers and an SUV hit the truck head on.  Two died in that accident.  Doesn’t pay folks to get in a rush.  A few extra minutes isn’t worth a life.  With this happening some traffic was re-routed through Highway 522.

Bug Report:  Mosquitoes in the evening hours are quite bad in places.  Deer flies are also annoying some near water or shaded areas.  For most parts through the day things are pretty good.

Fishing Information:  Today the old weather stick is  saying that the best times to be out there with pole in hand will be from 5:30 AM – 9:00 AM.  Then once again later on from 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating out of 5 this morning and a 3 fish rating out of 5 this afternoon for catching a few.  Winds this morning are very calm coming in from the South.   Good Luck!

Around Town:  Very quiet this morning.  Hardly a car moving up or down Highway 522.  Folks are enjoying the cool morning.  This will change though as the day moves forward.  Summer is here.  With that will head on outside, doing a bit of scraping and painting around the old homestead.  One has to take advantage of the warm days when ever possible.  Don’t get too many of them.  Enjoy your day and remember, getting in a rush doesn’t help anything.  What road you choose for the day or path isn’t important, doesn’t matter, what does matter is if you enjoy your day and make it through it.                Inquiries:  [email protected]
