A New Way To Experience The Walters Post

A lot of you have enjoyed reading my stories over the years. Now, I’ve decided to bring them to life in a whole new way: I’m reading every new story on video over on YouTube, and I’ll be sharing each episode right here on The Walters Post, across Facebook, and on other platforms as they go live

For over twenty years, I’ve had the honour of telling stories in print, starting right at home with The North Bay Nugget. Over the decades, I watched the mastheads and company names change hands, moving from the days of Southam and Osprey Media, through Sun Media, and on into Postmedia, which is Canada’s largest newspaper network. Through it all, the stories never stopped rolling off the presses, with more than a thousand tales published across the province and beyond.

Now, I’m bringing those stories off the page and onto video. If you appreciate honest memories, hard work, and a good laugh along the way, pull up a chair, because I’d be proud to have you along for the journey.

Today’s Story: Cowboy Hats

We’re kicking things off today with a journey back to simpler times.

An original country-life story written and read by George Walters, looking back on the hats, horses and farm days that helped shape a lifetime.

In this story, I look back on a lifetime of wearing hats, from hiding an old baseball cap in my coat at a one-room country schoolhouse to trading a team of Clydesdales for a Ford tractor.

It’s a simple, true tale about hard work, putting good food on the table, and the quiet pride of wearing an old Stetson.
