It’s another sunny morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We didn’t have any more snow overnight, but it is cool. Waking up, the temperature was sitting at 1.4 C | 34.52 F. It will warm up a wee bit as the day progresses. I would say that our snow has all but left us for another year. Which is fine with me. Highway 522 is bare and dry, which will make travelling good today.

On another note, my lovely wife and I finished watching the Masters Golf Game, which we have enjoyed for the past 4 days. Today we will get things back to normal as I have some things that need doing in the old woodworking shop and my wife has things to do in her art studio.

With that, I am off for a boiled egg with all the trimmings, that my wife made for me, and will then see what the day has in store other than what I have planned. Take care and stay safe. GW

It’s a bit cloudy here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada this morning. And along with that it has cooled down, sitting at -1.4 C | 29.48 F. We also had some more snow overnight. I would say about an inch. It won’t last long, as the temperatures will rise well above the freezing mark as the day progress’s. And on top of that we should see an ample amount of sunshine later on too.

Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good. But if going into stores I would recommend you wearing a mask as this virus is hitting a lot of folks these days. They figure we are having around 100,000 a day, here in Ontario, that are being infected. Which means it is out of control now and the hospitals are filling up fast. So in all reality, it isn’t a good thing. For my wife and I we will continue on wearing a mask for a long time yet, when ever we go into stores and places where there are a lot of people. But to each their own.

Yesterday, my wife and I put in a full day of watching the Masters. It was a great day for sure, other than it being a touch cool for the players, and fans. Today, the last day, should be a lot nicer for them. I hope so, as they put a lot of work into making things nice for everyone. And speaking of people, they were there in the thousands.

With that, I am off for a boiled egg this morning that my lovely wife is preparing for me, and will then see what the day has in store. Other than watching the Masters, of course. You never know. Stay safe and have a great day. GW

A great way to start off a day is with some sunshine. And at the moment that is what we are having here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. For how long, we have that sunshine … well, that is the question, as there are some showers in our area. At any rate, I will take it while it lasts. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good. Talking about the Highway, when we went to town last Saturday, we did see a lot of deer crossing and feeding alongside the highway. And just because they are standing ahead of you on one side, doesn’t mean they won’t strike off in front of you to the other side. You have to be real careful when out and about, especially in our area.

On another note, my lovely wife and I took the whole day yesterday, sat and watched the Masters on TV. It was a great day for sure and all the players did pretty good. For the first time, though, not one of them got through the whole game without a bogie or two. I kind of think that with the rain they had just before the game started, played a lot into how the greens faired. And the high winds didn’t help anyone, neither. It was challenging to say the least. But weather wise afterwards couldn’t be better with lots of sunshine.

Today, my wife and I will do the same. It’s the only sport we really watch, along with being the only golf game we really watch. The flowers, trees, shrubs along with the course itself was beautiful. Watching the Masters, to my wife and I, is like opening the door to summer.

With that, I am off for some waffles this morning and will then get to watching the Masters. Take care and stay safe, this virus is getting worse every day, with the hospitals filling up with sick people. GW

So how you all doing this morning? Good I hope. Starting things off here this morning, weather wise, it is cloudy with some light showers. It did rain off and on throughout the night. Which got rid of most of our snow. It’s about 98% gone now. The ice on the lakes is about 75% gone. Most rivers and streams have melted completely. It’s time to put the snowmobiles away for another year. The good news is, while the snowmobiles go into storage, the 4 Wheelers get dusted off and ready. I don’t have one myself. I wished I did, but with the price of them, I can’t afford one. I have been searching for a used one, but so far none has come available. But such is life, you can’t have everything. The temperature getting out of bed was sitting at 3.7 C | 38.66 F. It will warm up some as the day moves forward. I don’t suspect we will be seeing much sunshine for the next 4 days.

On another note, my wife was busy yesterday raking all our gardens and the lawn around our house, along with cutting back some plants that we didn’t get to last fall. Sure looks nice now and just in time. As with the rain we had last night, things are really looking nice now. Our Tulips are starting to come up, and our snow drops are out in bloom And our grass is turning green, which is what I like to see. I am tired of white.

On another note, it’s that time of year again for the Masters. If you enjoy golf, this is the event to watch. My wife and I sure enjoy it and can’t wait for it to begin, which starts at 10:30 AM today, and runs through till Sunday afternoon. For 4 days every April, my wife and I sit back, put our feet up, and enjoy. They sure keep the course beautiful, and we enjoy taking in what nature has to offer.

So with that I am off for a bowl of cereal and will then get the television set up to watch the Golf Game of the Year. Have a great day and stay safe, this virus is starting to take hold now, and the hospitals are filling up. Even in our area, it is taking its toll on folks. GW

What’s Happening On April 5/2022

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. It will remain cloudy pretty well all day. The temperature waking up was sitting at 1.6 C | 34.88 F. It will warm up a few degrees as the day progresses. Yesterday we lost more of our snow, which is okay by me. And we are starting to see a wee bit of green instead of white for a change. Hmm, maybe I might have to think on getting our riding mower along with our walk behind ready for what’s to come. First though, we have to clean things up, as there are a lot of old dead branches that has come down from our pines over the winter. Lots to do this time of year. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good. In saying that, if you have to go anywhere I would recommend you wearing your mask as this virus is catching up to a lot of folks. Better be safe than sorry. Some say it’s no worse than a cold. Some are very sick. And some have died. Myself, I prefer not to chance it.

With that, I am off for a boiled egg and a piece of toast that my lovely wife is making for me, and will then get to work in the woodworking shop. Got lots on the go these days with getting things ready for our gift shop. Take care and stay safe. GW
