Another great looking day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Sun is shinning and temperatures were sitting at a comfortable 18.9 C | 66.02 F. Hard to beat that. It will warm up some as the day moves forward. Today I have some shop work to do along with a bit of mowing, so all in all it is enough to keep me busy. Yesterday we went to North Bay for some supplies. Had a great day other than spending money. But what can you do. We also had lunch with our son, chatted for a spell then arrived back home around 4:00 PM. I have to say the stores were swamped with customers. I don’t think anyone works anymore. But it is summer and there is a lot of vacationers blending into the picture. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee. Have a great day.

Another sunny nice day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. It is nice to have cooler temperatures for sleeping. I actually had to shut some windows through the night being a touch too cool. Not complaining mind ya. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 18.9 C | 66.02 F. It will warm up as the day moves forward but it will be a really nice day. The weekend is looking good too other than a slight chance of a shower on Saturday. Today I have some work to do on my back deck fixing a few boards along with a coat of sealer. Then I will get back to my Flute making. I am starting to make some progress finally. There are so many steps in making them, at first it seems like you are going nowhere. But, such is life. Black flies, mosquitoes in our area are tolerable now. Horse and deer flies are annoying in certain areas. All in all not so bad. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and then will see what the day has in store for me. I make plans for the day, but the results are another story. Have a great day.

We did have some sunshine waking up here in Port Loring Ontario Canada. But it has clouded up since then. Temperatures were sitting at 18.9 C | 66.02 F. Today and tomorrow there is a chance of a thunderstorm and for most parts I suspect it will be partially cloudy. But who really knows what Mother Nature is going to do. We could use some more rain for the gardens. The tourists won’t like the rain I am sure. Yesterday we had a fair day at our store taking a couple small orders, and made some sales, so today I will get busy working on them. Should be nice out there with the clouds moving in. Well another beautiful day here in Port Loring Ontario Canada. It can stay like this for the rest of the summer. Temperatures were great for sleeping and at the time of this post it was sitting at 16.1 C | 60.98 F. It will warm up a wee bit but for most of the week it should be quite nice. Near the end of the week we will be back into some hot weather with high humidity. Black flies are all but gone, mosquitoes are still with us but not as bad. Horse and Deer flies are annoying to say the least. So what can we do? Nothing. Today I will be working once again on my flutes. I am starting to see some progress. For the first few days it seems I do nothing LOL The reason for this is there is so many steps you have to do to get to where you see anything worthwhile. It is a great way to learn patience. A few clouds waking up here in Port Loring Ontario Canada. Temperatures were nice through the night so everyone should have had a great sleep. Waking up temperatures were sitting at 16.7 C | 62.06 F. It will warm up a bit as the day progresses. It won’t be as warm as it has been, which is fine with me. As it stands, the whole week is looking good weather wise. My vegetable garden is growing leaps and bounds these days putting fresh vegetables on the table daily. What could be better than that. Today I will get back to working on my Flutes. I enjoy it out there when the weather is nice and can have the doors open. Lots of folks were dropping by to have a look see which is nice. The store was quite busy over the weekend. My wife is busy painting sign orders along with a few other things. She is one busy lady this year. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and then get to making sawdust.

We did have some sunshine early this morning then clouds rolled in. Today we will see some sun and clouds for most the day with maybe some rain thrown in for good measure. It will be very humid and hot. Great day to take it a bit easy. After all, it is the weekend. We did see some rain through the night, not much but every bit helps. Mosquitoes like this kind of weather. Yesterday we headed into town for some supplies that we can’t get here in town. It was a great trip but every store was lined up at the check outs. I guess that is a good sign. People spending money. We then went for supper with our son Karl at Lot 88. Great place to eat other than being a touch expensive. But once in a while we like to splurge. Just because we can. My lovely wife and Karl ordered a bottle of Woodbridge, U.S.A CABERNET SAUVIGNON to start things off. A light white wine. Very tasty to say the least. Let’s just say none went to waste. For the main meal my wife and Karl had :

Glazed Chicken & Ribs
Grilled chicken breast, pineapple glaze, half rack, Lot 88 BBQ sauce and a Caesar salad.

Myself I had a : Lot 88 Burger
A prime rib patty, egg, aged Canadian cheddar, apple wood bacon, onion strings, ancho aioli and Caesar salad.

After that we picked up some groceries, did a bit of running around to other stores, chatted and arrived back home at 9:00 PM. Then we checked what we spent, looked at each other and went to bed. LOL Today I am going to take things a bit easy being so hot. Tomorrow I will get back to my shop work. With that I am off for my morning coffee.

Today fishing won’t be the greatest with the rain we had last night and it being so hot. I give it a 1 Star Rating out of 5 for catching a few. Good Luck though if you do head out, and make sure you have a rain coat. Seems things like that are easy to forget, other than the net.

Once again we have sunshine waking up here in Port Loring Ontario. The good news is we did have a nice rain through the night. I think my plants in the vegetable garden grew a foot. They all look nice and refreshed this morning. Temperatures stayed warm through the night and into this morning. Getting out of bed they were sitting at 23 C | 73.4 F. It will be a really hot day today getting warmer as the day moves forward. We could see some more rain with all this heat. A little more wouldn’t hurt, as the trees and things could use it. Mother Nature looks after her own. Being so hot care should be taken if out in the sun for any length of time. I put our open sign up every morning and there is one huge old horse fly that I think sits out there waiting for me, as he bugs me every morning until I am back in the house. One of these days he might just happen to meet his maker. So with them few words the horse and deer flies are still with us annoying at times. Mosquitoes are still around too but not as bad with this heat. The black flies are all but gone in most areas. Today I will be back in the woodworking shop working on my Flutes. I might only work a half a day today it being so warm. Just because I can. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife. GW

Well another sunny day here waking up. Few clouds but otherwise quite nice. It did cool down through the night so sleeping was more pleasant. Seems I can take the heat through the day but at nights, I like cool sheets. Temperatures were sitting at 20.6 C | 69.08 F. It will warm up a lot as the day moves forward. We do have a good chance of some rain or a thunderstorm through today and into tomorrow. I hope so we sure need it. Besides that I am tired of carrying water for my garden. But I do know if I don’t, we won’t have any fresh veggies for the table. The hot weather will end on Sunday and next week is looking nice. With Nature one has to take what comes along. Yesterday I worked all day in the woodworking shop and attending customers. We have had a steady stream of customers for the past few weeks which has kept my wife and I busy. Nice to see. Today I will again be working in the shop, I finished up most of my orders and now can concentrate on my flutes. I want to get them finished before the cold weather hits. It takes me around two to three months to finish them from start to finish. So with that stay cool, and I am off for my morning cup of coffee on the front porch. Then I will see what mischief I can get myself into.

Good morning. The sun is shinning once again waking up, which makes things much nicer. A light breeze is coming in from the North with temperatures sitting at 18.9 C | 66.02 F. There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm later on in the day. But for most parts it will be pretty nice. On the flip side it will be quite warm and will continue till the weekend. I am hoping we do have some rain as the gardens and things sure need a drink. Today I will be in the shop working on a few orders and my Flutes. Lots to do these days. But it’s what I enjoy doing so no complaints. If it gets to hot I will stop for the day and enjoy a cool one on the front porch. Now and then I like to bug my lovely wife. Seems we can chat about anything for hours. And you know? We are good at it. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Then will see what develops. Have a great day! Us humans woke up to a few clouds this morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We also had a touch of rain through the night but not enough to wet the ground. Today we will see clouds and sunshine. Tomorrow there is a slight risk of a thunderstorm. With these hot humid Florida like temperatures we could get anything. But for most parts it is looking like a not so bad week. It will be quite warm though and humid today. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 21.3 C | 70.34 F. Black Flies are pretty well all gone. Mosquitoes are still with us but not as bad. Horse and deer flies are another story. If you are near the bush they find you. On another note it looks like I might have to carry some water for my gardens with it being so dry. Today I will be working in the shop once again. Took me all day to set up for making Flutes. Lots involved in their making. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will let the day unfold around me.

Great looking day waking up. Sun is shinning and the birds were all enjoying themselves outside my bedroom window. Cars and trucks are manoeuvring up and down the highway with even the odd plane flying over our home. Yep summer is here along with the tourists. Nice to see folks entering back into the picture. Temperatures were sitting at 17.6 C | 63.68 F. By the looks of things we are in for a very hot week with only a slight chance of rain mid week. We do need rain. On another note we did have a busy day yesterday at our store. Folks dropped by to pick up a few things along with friends coming in to say hi letting us know they are back for the summer. You could say it was a talking day. Today I will be working on some small orders and things. Once they are finished I will get back to working on my Flutes. Lot of tedious work making them. After three in the afternoon it is front porch sittin’ time. Why is that? Just because I can. With that I am off for a cup of coffee and then get on with my chores.
