A Metered Internet Is A Regulatory Failure

Here is a link that will take you to where you can read what is about to happen to our Internet.  For those that like the Internet as we now know it, read it through, then at the bottom where it says , Stop The Meter, click on that an sign the petition.   What these folks are trying to do will be the down fall of everything that the Internet stands for, simple as that, along with the little servers going out of business and them making millions of $$$$$$.  So now it is time to do your part.

Employment Insurance Benefits Fell

Take a look at this next line that came out today in the news.

The number of people receiving regular employment insurance benefits fell 0.8 per cent in November from the previous month to 673,650, Statistics Canada said Thursday.

Now with them saying this, it kind of makes one think that more folks are getting jobs and that the economy is on an upswing.  My way of looking at it is, that their unemployment has just run out and no longer on the system, so the Powers That Be figure they went back to work, but in reality a lot are still out of work.  Hope I am wrong.  My Opinion Only.

Sad Time For Our Children of Today

Today children under five are more comfortable playing computer games than tying their own shoelaces.

Practical skills in children are increasingly being lost, with tradition skills being replaced by , well I don’t know really.

Seven out of ten, two to five year olds are happy playing on-line games compared to just 11 per cent who were capable of tying their shoelaces.

Also children are losing out on social and physical well-being as parents find it easier to entertain them by putting them in front of a computer screen.

As a result less than two out of ten  children could swim unaided while 23 per cent aged two to five were able to make a call on a mobile phone.

Amazingly less than half knew their own home address and only a third were able to write their first and last names.  Sign of the times I suppose, but in my eyes it doesn’t make it right.
