Good Morning:  Well rainy day here waking up.  Temperatures though were not so bad sitting at 7 C | 44.6 F.

Forecast For Today: Warnings are up saying:

Rain and gusty winds today.

A strong fall storm is forecast to spread rain heavy at times into the area this morning. Latest indications suggest total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm are likely for most locales by the time the rain tapers to showers on Thursday.

Hunting Times: Not a good day for hunting.  Don’t suspect anyone being out there today.  But if one does want to venture on out the old weather stick is saying that the best times would be from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM.  Then once again a bit later from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  Good Luck!

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare but wet.  Could get a bit slippery with all the rain that is in the forecast.  Care should be taken if out and about.  Travelling won’t be the best today.  Kind of a day where one should enjoy the inside of their home.

Around Town.  Quiet today. Myself going to relax and do a bit of writing.  Good day to be inside looking out.  Enjoy your day and stay safe..

Highway Report:  Went to Sudbury yesterday with good friends.  Had supper at the Red Lobster which by the way was excellent.  Don’t go to often as it is a touch pricey but when we do we enjoy it a lot.  Highway 522 is bare this morning with a few critters making their way cross here and their.  So Care should be taken.

Around Town: Not to much happening.  But I did see a lady hunter this morning walking up the road with a rifle and yesterday another person riding their mower to the liquor store.  Only in Port Loring.   So…..folks are out and about.  Myself I will be working away here on some stories getting things ready for my columns.  (Seems some stories can come to a feller just by looking out ones window.)   Great to be able to do what one wants in life, without being dictated to of what one can or can’t do, or for that matter should do.  Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Information For Port Loring Ontario October 24

Good Morning:  Cloudy day here in Port Loring.  But not that cold.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at 5.3 C | 41.54 F.

Forecast For Today:  Cloudy with on and off showers.  Will be like this for the next week for most parts.  Great weather to do some visiting or head on off to your place of choice.

Hunting Information:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM.  Then a bit later on from  5:00 PM – 7:30 PM.  Not the greatest day for hunting but better days lies ahead.  I give it a 1 buck rating out of 5 for seeing a few.  Good Luck!

Highway Report:  Seems to me more deer are being seen along the Highway than in the bush these days.  Kind of gets a feller to thinking.  Today highway 522 is bare but care should be taken.

Around Town: Not much happening in the way of things.  Folks are taking it easy these days.  And rightly so too after a busy summer.  Fall is the time of rest.  Coming back to grips with things, so to speak.  In some ways even sad. with the leaves leaving us for another year, our friendly birds heading south and critters going into their deep sleep.  The good part is that we all know they will be back with us within a few months.  My old friend Grey Wolf used to say that with this happening it makes us appreciate them and things more.  With that heading off to light the wood furnace.  Take the dampness and cold away. Nothing like wood heat.  Enjoy your day, make it a good day.
