Port Loring Ontarion News, Weather & Hunting Times

Good Morning:    Well a lot colder here in Port Loring Ontario this morning.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at…-5.8 C | 21.56 F.

Forecast For Today:  Stormy, may improve as the day progresses.

Hunting Times:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM.  I give it a 2 Buck Rating out of 5 for seeing a few.  Winds this morning are coming in from the South and at the moment calm with a touch of sunshine.  Winds will pick up a bit later to around… 10 MPH so choose your location wisely.

Around Town: Things are quiet here this morning.  Folks are either out hunting or sleeping. Great day to do either.  With the colder weather moving in I see more smoke coming from chimneys which is a sign that folks are keeping warm and digging into their wood supply.  Even started mine this morning just to see how this new one works.  So far it works perfect so no complaints as of yet.  These new furnaces though do take some getting used to, but all will be for the best I am sure.  Should save on my wood pile to about half which puts a smile on my face. Highway 522 is snow covered  throughout in some areas with a few icy sections, so care should be taken if out and about.  Should melt off a touch once the sun hits the black pavement.  Enjoy your day my friends, stay safe and warm.  You can reach me…  George Walters at:  [email protected]

Around Town:  Highway 522 is pretty well bare but wet along with a few snow covered spots here and there, but travelling so far this morning is fine.  But with winter approaching one should be in a causes mode in readiness for what lies ahead.  On another note, gardens are all done up now for winter, garlic is planted for next year. Mulch is piled high and leaves are all gathered.  Firewood is in the house or close by, waiting for them cold days which in my mind kind of puts a warmth in ones heart. Seems every year at this time certain items send me good feelings.  Warmth and food in abundance with good friends and family members close by.  Can’t get much better than that.  Enjoy your day my friends.

Hunting, Information & Weather For Port Loring Ontario Canada

Good Morning:  Well another rainy old day here in Port Loring.  Seems to be the trend now for the past two months.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at…2.6 C | 36.68 F.

Forecast For Today:  Rain this morning which could turn to Snow, very unsettled.

Hunting Times:  Well this morning the old weather stick is saying that the best time to be out there will be from 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Then 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM.  Prime times will be 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 5:00 PM.  I give it a 3 Buck Rating out of 5 this morning and a 3 1/2 Buck rating after lunch.  Time to be out there would be  6:38 AM and time to be out of the bush 5:29 PM.  These times have been adjusted as stated in our Ontario Hunting Regulations 2014.  Half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset. Winds are coming in from the North East and at the moment Calm. They could increase later on to around 8 MPH.  Good Luck!

Around Town:  Highway 522 is wet throughout.  Stores are quiet.  Sure hasn’t been a great week for hunting that’s for sure with all the rain.  Next week could be a bit better with the colder weather moving in.  All one can do is hope and dress accordingly.  Enjoy your day my friends, stay warm and dry which is  important in saying healthy.  I am a firm believer that if your feet or head gets cold or you get chilled to the bone your chances of catching a cold are probable. Some say no that can’t happen, I say it can.  To each their own in thinking I suppose.  If you do get very cold a hot shower as soon as possible coming in from the outside will reduce your chances of getting sick substantially.    You can reach me George Walters at [email protected]

Port Loring Ontario Canada Hunting, Weather & Information Page

Good Morning:  Well more rain starting things off once again here in Port Loring Ontario.  Temperatures were still quite warm sitting at 3.9 C | 39.02 F, waking up.

Forecast For Today:  Unsettled, probably improving as the day progresses.   Could also see a touch of sunshine a bit later if things goes to plan.  Temperatures will start to fall for tomorrow though with a bit of icy mix for tonight.

Hunting Times:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from..9:30 AM – 12:30 PM.  Then a bit later from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM.  I give it a 2 Buck Rating out of 5 this morning and a 3 Buck rating out of 5 this afternoon for seeing them.  Prime times will be.  11:00 AM, 12:00 PM & 5:00 PM. Winds this morning are coming in from the North West at 3.4 m/s | 12.24 km/h | 7.61 mph.  Time to be out there in the mornings at Dawn which is a half hour before sunrise is 6:36 AM and time to leave will be half hour after sunset, dusk at 5:31 PM.  Good Luck!

Around Town:   For the next couple weeks things are leaning towards the quiet side of things with folks all out hunting in our area.  Or should say for most.  I did get out on Monday for a spell with no luck.  But had to come in a touch early as the old back and things were taking a toll on me somewhat.  Will see how it goes a bit later on in the week after this rain makes its way out of our area.  So my friends take care and enjoy your day.  Stay warm and dry and wash your hands after going out to other homes or establishments as it will save you a lot of grief with catching a cold or the flu.  Main thing is to keep your hands away from your face when out and about till you can wash them.  Simple thing to do….right?  Do that and no Flu Shot Needed. Which Is a Good Thing.
