WHAT’S Happening April 13/2022

Well … starting things off, our sunshine has left us today, but it should return tomorrow. At the moment it is almost dark with a storm in our midst. At the moment it is pouring rain with hail. A day that makes you want to stay inside. We are also getting some pretty loud thunder and the lighting is a bit scary. I don’t like lightning one bit. Highway 522 is bare but wet. In saying that, I don’t think it would be a good day to go anywhere. We are supposed to get over 50 mm of rain or more before it all stops. But it’s better than snow. The rain will clean things up a lot, along with removing the ice from the lakes and settle the ground that has heaved over winter. It’s what is needed to get us ready for summer

Yesterday, my wife and I went to town to pick up a few groceries and things. We had a great drive in and back, with sunshine all the way. The temperatures were in the 50s F which made it just that much nicer. The good thing about going in on Tuesday’s is the stores aren’t crowded, and we were in and out in no time. With our mask on, of course. We then picked up something to eat from a take-out and sat in our car and ate it, taking in the city life. After that, we headed on home. Great day, actually.

Today, I will take things easy and work away here in the house, on some projects I have on the go. Have a great day and stay safe. GW

What’s Happening April 12/2022

Good Morning! It’s another sunny morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. It is a bit cool though with the temperature sitting at 2.1 C | 35.78 F. It will warm up as the day progresses, which should get rid of a lot more ice on the lakes, It is melting fast though these days but will be a week or so yet before all the ice is gone. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good.

Yesterday I worked away in the old Woodworking Shop on a few things I have on the go. My lovely wife she was busy in her studio along with cleaning the house, baking and making meals. Busy woman for sure. With that, I am off for a cup of coffee and will then see what the day has in store. Take care, have a great day and stay safe. GW

It’s another sunny morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We didn’t have any more snow overnight, but it is cool. Waking up, the temperature was sitting at 1.4 C | 34.52 F. It will warm up a wee bit as the day progresses. I would say that our snow has all but left us for another year. Which is fine with me. Highway 522 is bare and dry, which will make travelling good today.

On another note, my lovely wife and I finished watching the Masters Golf Game, which we have enjoyed for the past 4 days. Today we will get things back to normal as I have some things that need doing in the old woodworking shop and my wife has things to do in her art studio.

With that, I am off for a boiled egg with all the trimmings, that my wife made for me, and will then see what the day has in store other than what I have planned. Take care and stay safe. GW

It’s a bit cloudy here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada this morning. And along with that it has cooled down, sitting at -1.4 C | 29.48 F. We also had some more snow overnight. I would say about an inch. It won’t last long, as the temperatures will rise well above the freezing mark as the day progress’s. And on top of that we should see an ample amount of sunshine later on too.

Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good. But if going into stores I would recommend you wearing a mask as this virus is hitting a lot of folks these days. They figure we are having around 100,000 a day, here in Ontario, that are being infected. Which means it is out of control now and the hospitals are filling up fast. So in all reality, it isn’t a good thing. For my wife and I we will continue on wearing a mask for a long time yet, when ever we go into stores and places where there are a lot of people. But to each their own.

Yesterday, my wife and I put in a full day of watching the Masters. It was a great day for sure, other than it being a touch cool for the players, and fans. Today, the last day, should be a lot nicer for them. I hope so, as they put a lot of work into making things nice for everyone. And speaking of people, they were there in the thousands.

With that, I am off for a boiled egg this morning that my lovely wife is preparing for me, and will then see what the day has in store. Other than watching the Masters, of course. You never know. Stay safe and have a great day. GW

A great way to start off a day is with some sunshine. And at the moment that is what we are having here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. For how long, we have that sunshine … well, that is the question, as there are some showers in our area. At any rate, I will take it while it lasts. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good. Talking about the Highway, when we went to town last Saturday, we did see a lot of deer crossing and feeding alongside the highway. And just because they are standing ahead of you on one side, doesn’t mean they won’t strike off in front of you to the other side. You have to be real careful when out and about, especially in our area.

On another note, my lovely wife and I took the whole day yesterday, sat and watched the Masters on TV. It was a great day for sure and all the players did pretty good. For the first time, though, not one of them got through the whole game without a bogie or two. I kind of think that with the rain they had just before the game started, played a lot into how the greens faired. And the high winds didn’t help anyone, neither. It was challenging to say the least. But weather wise afterwards couldn’t be better with lots of sunshine.

Today, my wife and I will do the same. It’s the only sport we really watch, along with being the only golf game we really watch. The flowers, trees, shrubs along with the course itself was beautiful. Watching the Masters, to my wife and I, is like opening the door to summer.

With that, I am off for some waffles this morning and will then get to watching the Masters. Take care and stay safe, this virus is getting worse every day, with the hospitals filling up with sick people. GW
