Vitamin D, Just One More Reason To Get Working On Your Gardens

Well I been saying this for years.  I also have made it a practice to sit in the sun in front of a window come winter if it is to cold to go  outside.  The benefits are to many to mention.  So just one more reason to get your self out into the garden this coming spring and let that sunshine do its work.  There is nothing more healthy for you than  Mother Nature.   And if you need help this coming spring with getting that garden to growing, pick up a copy of my new Gardening Book, should be in stores around first of May. Take A Look:

Although vitamin D is naturally produced in the body through exposure to direct sunlight, vitamin D deficiency is now common in the U.S. The result can be a host of health ills, including severe conditions such as bone thinning osteoporosis and bone deforming rickets. Although a lack of vitamin D has long been known to weaken both the muscular and the skeletal systems of the human body, little has been known about how vitamin D contributes to muscle power and force — until now. For the first time, scientists have found that vitamin D is important for muscle power and all kinds of health problems.   Hmmm and they are just finding this out now.

Dried Apples Easy

Dried Apples – Hmm Good!

Peel and quarter ripe apples, or slice and dry in the sun. Cook the dried apples until done. If the cooked apple needs to be thickened, add cornmeal and cook until meal is done.  No reason now for not having your own dried apples any time of year.  Enjoy!

Basil & How To Store For Winter

Look For my second book coming out this spring.  All you need to know about gardening.

1)Pick fresh basil in the morning while the oils are at the fullest.

2) wash them and then put them in a food processor with a little
butter or oil and give it a whirl.

3) pour it into ice cube trays and freeze. After frozen put into
freezer bags and freeze. If you use oil or butter in the above step
and not water you can use them for just about anything.

Another method
Lay clean basil on a cookie sheet and put in the oven and dry them. I
have a gas oven so i just leave the pilot to do its work during the
night. I then put into a pint jar in my spice section.

Good Old Spinach

Think Spring as this is one veggie that can do you a world of good.  Some folks like to buy the bigger leaves, but for me these can’t be beat.  They are one of the first things I get to planing as soon as the soil warms up.  Should also mention I put in two rows. One early and one a couple weeks later. That way I got lots for the whole summer.  Enjoy and look for my new gardening book coming out this spring.  Keep saying it I know but hate to see you folks miss a good thing.   Talk Soon.
