Good Morning.  Cloudy day waking up here in Port Loring. Waking up temperatures were sitting at 16.8 C | 62.24 F.  Will warm up some as the day moves forward.

Forecast For Saturday: Rain at frequent intervals.  Should clear up though through the night and tomorrow we should be back to sunshine along with warm temperatures.  Good looking week lies ahead.

Bug Report:  Few mosquitoes out there today annoying folks.  But not too bad.

Highway Report: Highway 11 and 69 were quite busy through the early evening hours last night but have slowed down today. Highway 522 is quiet.  Travelling in Canada right now is good.

Fishing Report:  This morning the old weather stick is saying the best times to be out there will be from 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM.  Then once again later on this afternoon from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  I give it a 4 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  Good Luck!

Around Town.  Cornfest here in town is edging closer. Great event that takes place every year. For all the information regarding what’s happening click flyer below.  On another note we have been steadily putting away for winter with items from our gardens.  Tomatoes are in jars and winter soups and stews are being made as I type.  Then comes firewood for winter.  Talked to a few friends of mine and they were telling me they have theirs already in for winter.  Good job to have behind ya.  With that tea time here.  Orange pekoe with a touch of turmeric is looking pretty good.  Enjoy your day and stay safe if out and about.

Information For Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:  Well a nice day shaping up here for Port Loring Ontario Canada.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at 11.8 C | 53.24 F.  Will warm up considerably shortly.

Forecast For Thursday: Fairly fine, possible showers early then clearing.  Could see some showers on the latter part of the weekend.

Bug Report:  Things are good in this department.  Front porch sittin’ should be put high on the list of things to do.

Highway Report:  Highways 11 and 69 are quite busy both ways with Highway 522 being quiet.  Great travelling weather to go just about anywhere in Canada.

Fishing Information:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there with pole in hand will be from 6:00 AM – 9:30 AM.  Then a bit later on from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating out of 5 this morning for catching a few and a 4 fish rating this afternoon.  Few good days for fishing in the forecast.  Good Luck!

Around Town.  Things have settled down somewhat business wise.  Things will pick up some later on today.  Young ones are edging closer to going back to school.  In the news they were saying that 26% of all our children today are shopping on line.  Sign of what’s to come in the retail business.  On another note, gardens are in full swing these days.  Preserves are our first order of things to do.  Nothing nicer than looking at stocked shelves of fresh produce come winter.  With that tea time here.  Thinking dandelion with a touch of turmeric this morning.  Enjoy your day and stay safe.  Inquiries:  [email protected]

Good Morning: Well cloudy wet morning here in Port Loring.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at 13 C | 55.4 F.

Forecast For Wednesday: Rather unsettled clearing later.  Sunshine will slowly edge its way back with us later on today and into tomorrow.  Should be a great weekend.

Bug Report:  Hardly anything annoying folks these days.  Great time to do about anything outside.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is quiet these days.  Will pick up a touch nearing the weekend.  Highway 69 and 11 are slow at the moment too.

Fishing Information:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM.  Then once again later this afternoon from 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few this morning and a 3 fish rating this afternoon.  Will improve later on in the week.  Good Luck!

Around Town: Market day today for those that like to take in the sights.  My wife and I are busy in doing things up for winter.  Once done will get to piling some firewood inside the house.  Hate to even think about the cold weather. But in reality it is what has to be done.  Gardens are growing leaps and bounds these days.  The rain brought things on at a fast pace.  Picked some beets and got them hanging for winter and will plant a row of lettuce either today or tomorrow. Information For Port Loring

Good Morning:  Bit of rain through the night.  Temperatures have cooled off some sitting at  13.6 C | 56.48 F.  Great weather for sleeping.

Forecast For Tuesday: Mostly very unsettled weather today.  Things will get a bit brighter come Thursday.

Bug Report:  Things are good with not to much annoying folks these days.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is quiet. Highway 11 & 69 are a touch busy with traffic heading south.  Sign of the times I suppose.

Fishing Report:  Fishing is getting better these past few days.  Will continue to get better as the month of September nears.  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM.  Then once again from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM.  I give it a 3 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  Had a chap yesterday drop by showing me his catch of the day.  Couple nice bass and one really nice pickerel.  The pickerel would go around 4 pounds by looking at it.  He was sure smiling.

Around Town:  Well I am happy I got most my outside work done up for the year. Just in time too with this rain moving in.  Now steadily working on the inside, not that it really needs it, just that my wife likes change.  Gardens are doing well these days.  My wife did up a few jars yesterday and now will put the remainder into meals for winter.  Can’t beat that.  So with that tea time here, then see what the day has in store for us.  Stay dry.  Inquirers:  [email protected]

Information For Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:  Well nice looking day here in Port Loring:  Sun is shining with temperatures sitting at 18.3 C | 64.94 F.  Things will start to warm up even more around 11:00 AM.  Can’t beat that.

Forecast For Sunday:  We will see plenty of sunshine today with showers entering into the picture late in the day and into tomorrow.  All week a threat of rain will be in the forecast.  Seasons change, weather changes.

Bug Report:  Things are pretty good in this department.  Few deerflies annoying folks but not so bad.  Great outside weather to do just about anything.  Enjoy it while you can.

Highway Report:  Highway 522,  69,  11 were quite busy yesterday but will slow down some today.  Great travelling weather.

Fishing Report:  Today the old weather stick along with gathered data from our very own weather station here in Port Loring is saying that that the best times to be out there will be from 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Then once again from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Then later on from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM.  Lots of time to pull in that big Pickerel or Large Mouth Bass. I give it a 3 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few this morning and a 5 fish rating later on in the day.  I was out yesterday with my friend Barry and his brother.  Had a great day and did pull in a few nice ones.  Was a beauty of a day let me tell you.  Out in the boat, with great friends, catching a few, what could be better. Around Town:  Quiet for most parts with folks just enjoying their time at the cottage.  Can’t say I blame them neither.  On another note seasons are changing and that means things needs to be done in preparation of what is to come.  Firewood needs to be put in along with canning and cleaning up the gardens.  Lots to do for sure.  I have to say though I enjoy doing it, gives one a purpose in life.  Without it what is there.  With that tea time here.  Turmeric with a touch of orange pekoe this morning.  Enjoy your day my friends.  Inquiries: [email protected]
