Happenings In And Around Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:  Another cold morning here in Port Loring.  Temperatures waking up once again was sitting at 3.3 C | 37.94 F.

Forecast For Today: Fairly fine, improving.  Things will start to warm up as the day progresses. Temperatures should rise to near 65 F / 17 C.  Tomorrow will be even warmer.  Lots of sunshine entering into the picture.

Bug Report:  Lots of blackflies showing off these days in certain areas.  Some areas are fairing quite well.  Seems nature is choosy this year.

Highway report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry from its source, east to west.  Travelling will be good for those venturing out to places of choice.  Great day for a days getaway.

Fishing Times:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.  Then once again a bit later from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating out of 5 this morning for catching a few and a 3 fish rating out of 5 this afternoon.   Wind is coming in from the west north west at around 5 mph.  Cool breeze. Good Luck!

Around Town:  Things are quiet in our area.  Few more tourists entering into the picture.  Once things warm up a touch and we are finished with the blackflies things will pick up immensely.   Been a long cold winter and I as others are looking forward to a nice summer.  Gardens will be needing attention in the next few days and after tonight, night time temperatures should be warming up.  We did have a frost here  waking up this morning.  Took its toll on a few of my tulips.  But most native plants are used to what Mother Nature hands out.  So with that, tea time here.  English Breakfast is my choice this morning with a touch of turmeric. Great for any blood relating problems along with giving one strength for what lies ahead.  Enjoy your day by letting it happen.  You can reach George Walters at [email protected]
