Morning Report Oct 19/19

Finally, we are seeing some sunshine waking up here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We should have sunshine for most the day and into tomorrow. Temperatures though were a bit cool getting out of bed sitting at -0.2 C | 31.64 F. It will warm up as the day moves forward. Looking out the ground and grass is white with frost. I am happy I finish up my vegetable gardens and got my garlic planted for next year. Today we will do some work here in the house it being so cold outside, which will take most the day. More birds are coming to our bird feeder, a sign that colder weather is ending their food supply a bit. My wife and I enjoy watching them as they come to visit. Something to watch in this vast wilderness other than trees, snow, and snowplows going up and down the highway. Yesterday my lovely wife and I went to North Bay to take Karl our son to lunch for his birthday. Had a great lunch and visit. While there, we picked up a few groceries. Arrived back home around 4:00 PM. I have to admit it was a really nice trip, the sun came out and actually there for a few minutes … we did run into our first snow. Sign of what is to come I suspect. But for most parts the day was sunny. The leaves are about 80% gone, but it still was nice looking at what is left as we drove along. The Tamarack is out in full colour now too, which makes for another round of colours for a couple weeks or so. We enjoy watching them changing colours too. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife.

Hunting Times

Saturday
10/19/19

Major Times
5:00 PM-8:00 PM
Minor Times
1:00 PM-3:00 PM

Hunting won’t be too good today, but you never know. I give it a 1-Star Rating out of 5. On our trip to town yesterday we saw lots of trucks and trailers with ATV”s and camping gear heading our way, so one should take care while walking in the bush. Put guns or ?, in the hands of many humans, one needs to be careful. Not a good time to be pleasure walking around in the bush. If you do … wear bright colours so someone doesn’t mistake you for something your not. Good Luck and Stay Safe.
