Morning chat Aug 29/2021

Good Morning. With the way things are going, it looks like we might have some more rain off and on throughout the day. However, tomorrow things take a change for the better with some real nice weather moving into our area. Not as hot, less humidity and lots of sunshine. Which should last well into next week. Actually, there might be a day or so later on in the week, that a jacket might be necessary. Hmm, maybe I should get my long handles out of storage. LOL Just seems like yesterday I put them away for the summer. Highway 522 is still busy, as is Highway 11 and 69. Yesterday my lovely wife and I went to North Bay to pick up some groceries before the long weekend, and we noticed a lot of campers, trucks with boats, you name it heading back to the cities. So in that department things haven’t changed much. In town, there were lots of folks in the stores and going everywhere. You wouldn’t know there was a virus among us. Which, of course, will make the number of infections rise even more than it is now. We were up over the 800 a day yesterday here in Ontario. I suspect it will get a lot worse before it gets better. The unvaccinated are the ones that takes the largest hit. I feel for them, but there isn’t much anyone can do about it. They made their own choice. While in town we ate our lunch in our car, took in what the city had to offer and headed on home chatting to our sons on the phone. It’s nice to be able to chat to them. Even if we haven’t seen each other much over the past two years. We also noticed that a lot of the leaves are turning colour along the way, along with a few flocks of Canadian Geese heading south. I kind of think they should be staying up here for a few more weeks, where it’s cool. But … nature has a mind of its own. Today if it doesn’t rain I will work up a spot in my vegetable garden and plant some more lettuce, which should last us for the remainder of the summer. We have been eating tomatoes for the past month along with selling a few baskets out front of our home on a trailer we have set up. We also have had an abundance of Zucchini this year. I put out a wheelbarrow load yesterday, and most of them sold before we got home from grocery shopping. With that bit of info under your hat … if you wear a hat, I am off for my morning bowl off cereal and will then see what the day has in store. Take care and stay safe. GW

Fishing Times: This morning, my old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there catching a few will be between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM and then again from 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM. I give it a 2-star rating out of 5 for catching a few. If you are heading out, I would suggest you bring along your raincoat. Good Luck!
