What’s Happening On May 19/2022

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. We did have some showers through the night, but the good news is we didn’t have any more frost. Not that I had my vegetable garden planted yet, mind ya. I was going to plant it today, but the way things are going weather wise, I think it’s best to wait for one more week. The way our weather is looking, anything is possible at the moment. Hmm … something like the world is right at the moment.

Highway 522 is slow today caused by the weather not being so good and the price of gas, and the uncertainty of what is happening in our country. I suspect economy wise, things are going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Hate to think that way, but that is the way it is.

On another note. I took my car in, so Kerry could install a wheel bearing yesterday. It was quite a job for sure, being rusted solid. But he got it done. It is a lot quieter now, running up and down the highway. Always something these days it seems with things going wrong. But it is cheaper than buying a new car, that’s for sure. We also managed to get our grass cut for the first time this year. Sure looks nice out there now. The first time is the hardest, after that things get a touch easier. A touch, I say. Ha ha.

Today I think if the rain holds off I will plant my potatoes as they are underground. The frost won’t bother them any. I also have some grass seeding to do in some spots. Between them two things and what ever else pops up it should look after my day.

With that, I am off for a bowl of porridge this morning that my lovely wife is making for me, and will then get to work. That is, if it doesn’t rain. Doesn’t look all that good out there at the moment. Stay safe. GW
