George Walters is a Canadian columnist and author with more than forty years of writing experience. For over twenty years he has written a weekly column for Postmedia Network — Canada's largest newspaper chain — never missing a single week, publishing fifty-two stories a year. Combined with his work in Reader's Digest Community Voices, World News, Country Living, The Country Register, and farm and rural lifestyle magazines across Canada, he has published well over two thousand stories drawn from everyday life. He writes about farm work, fishing, old trucks, and the kind of people you only find in small towns — but just as likely he'll hand a voice to a weathered telephone pole, or turn his eye on something happening in the world today and tell you exactly what he thinks about it. No subject is off limits. If there's a story in it, George will find it. He has been called a philosopher of everyday life, a description that came up more than once during his television appearances over the years — and it's not hard to see why. His writing has a way of making the ordinary feel worth sitting with. He is the author of eleven books, including yearly short story collections and the Clay Moretti Files mystery series. Clay is a fifty-year-old private investigator who drives a 1967 Ford Galaxie, smokes cigars, and operates by a code the modern world gave up on a long time ago. The cases are present day. The man handling them is not. All titles are available in paperback and eBook on Amazon. Together, George and his wife Ruth have also created Elmer Finds His Way, the first in what he hopes will be a long series of children's books. Ruth did all the illustrations, as she has for every one of George's books — and beyond that she designed and painted the covers as well. Her work is woven into every page of everything he has published. A few words from readers: "I pulled up a kitchen chair and read your story three times." "You have a way of making a person homesick for a place they haven't been to." "Thank you for writing things that make old people and kids feel the same way at the same time." All my titles are available in paperback and eBook on Amazon.ca here.

What’s Good For Your Health?

A good wholesome food anyone can make is whole wheat bread. No additives no preservatives, just bread like it was made many years ago.  These are the things one should be looking into, along with lots of organic veggies and things and meat with no hormones or antibiotics and things like that in it. A good choice is Venison.  I get out every year and fill our freezer.  Nothing is more healthy for you.   Have a great day!!  Click Pictures Below To Enlarge.

Radiation and Chemotherapy What You Should Know

I have been saying this for years in hope folks take a serious look at things, before doing them.  One has to do the research on their own, don’t be taken in by what doctors say is gospel.  Sure some is good, but lots isn’t, most isn’t for that matter, so look after yourself, don’t rely on others and you will stay healthy., No one and I mean no one knows your body better than your inner self. Take A Look At This Article.

When natural health advocates warn against mainstream medicine’s arsenal of weapons used to fight cancer, including chemotherapy and radiation, their concerns often revolve around how these therapies can weaken and damage a person’s body in numerous ways. But scientists are finding other reasons to question some of these therapies. It turns out that while chemotherapies may kill or shrink tumors in the short term, they may actually be causing malignancies to grow more deadly in the long term.

Nature, on the other hand, gives us an array of tools to beat cancer and the underlying causes that lead to cancer, including foods, vitamins, minerals, supplements and lifestyle choices. The key is not merely addressing the tumors and cancer cells that are the symptoms of cancer, but addressing and eliminating the root causes that led to cancer to begin with and prevent it from being eliminated.  Thing is folks how can one treat something if one doesn’t know the cause.  First one has to address what causes cancer then one can fix the problem simple as that.  What went wrong with the treatments of today all boils down to this.  Greed, Power & Money.

Noah’s Ark

Now don’t get me wrong here I am not a religious person by no means and always will be that way but this article my Sister Barb sent me was pretty well right on the money and …well, worth the read.   Take a look.  Thanks Sis, good one

Noah in Modern Times

Here’s a funny modern day take on Noah’s Ark. It’s just for a laugh, so please don’t take it too seriously 🙂
And the Lord spoke to Noah & said: “In six months I’m going to make it rain until the whole earth is covered with water & all the evil people are destroyed. But I want to save a few good people, and two of every kind of living thing on the planet. I am ordering you to build Me an Ark.”
And in a flash of lightning he delivered the specifications for the Ark.
“OK,” said Noah, trembling in fear and fumbling with the blueprints.
“Six months, and it starts to rain, “thundered the Lord. “You’d better have my Ark completed, or learn how to swim for a very long time.”
And six months passed. The skies began to cloud up and rain began to fall. The Lord saw that Noah was sitting in his front yard, weeping. And there was no Ark.
“Noah,” shouted the Lord, “where is my Ark?” A lighting bolt crashed to the ground next to Noah.
“Lord, please forgive me!” begged Noah. “I did my best. But there were big problems.
First I had to get a building permit for the Ark construction project, and your plans didn’t meet code. So I had to hire an engineer to redraw the plans.
Then I got into a big fight over whether or not the Ark needed a fire sprinkler system.
My neighbors objected, claiming I was violating zoning by building the Ark in my front yard, so I had to get a variance from the city planning commission.
Then I had a big problem getting enough wood for the Ark because there was a ban on cutting trees to save the Spotted Owl. I had to convince U.S.Fish and Wildlife that I needed wood to save the owls. But they wouldn’t let me catch any owls. So no owls.
Then the carpenters formed a union and went out on strike. I had to negotiate a settlement with the National Labor Relations Board before anyone would pick up a saw or hammer. Now we have 16 carpenters going on the boat and still no owls.
Then I started gathering up animals, and got sued by animal rights group. They objected to me taking only two of each kind.
Just when I got the suit dismissed, EPA notified me that I couldn’t complete the Ark without filing an environmental impact statement on your proposed flood. They didn’t take kindly to the idea that they had no jurisdiction over the conduct of a Supreme Being.
Then the Army Corps of Engineers wanted a map of the proposed new flood plain. I sent them a globe.
Right now I’m still trying to resolve a complaint from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission over how many Croatians I’m supposed to hire, the IRS has seized all my assets claiming I’m trying to avoid paying taxes by leaving the country, and I just got a notice from the state about owing some kind of use tax.
I really don’t think I can finish your Ark for at least another five years,” Noah wailed.
The sky began to clear. The sun began to shine. A rainbow arched across the sky.
Noah looked up and smiled. “You mean you’re not going to destroy the earth?” Noah asked, hopefully.
“No,” said the Lord sadly, “The government already has.”

Gout or Arthritis Problems Buy Some Cherries

For those that have Gout or Arthritis here is one simple old time remedy that works.  I bet the big drug companies wish they had invented cherries — they’ve proven to be the most powerful medicine in the world for eliminating gout and reducing the pain and inflammation of arthritis. Cherries are so powerful that the  the FDA in the USA went out of its way to try to muzzle cherry growers, preventing them from linking to scientific studies that cherries can cure Gout or Arthritis.  Six Cherries A Day My Friends that’s all she takes.
