George Walters is a Canadian columnist and author with more than forty years of writing experience. For over twenty years he has written a weekly column for Postmedia Network — Canada's largest newspaper chain — never missing a single week, publishing fifty-two stories a year. Combined with his work in Reader's Digest Community Voices, World News, Country Living, The Country Register, and farm and rural lifestyle magazines across Canada, he has published well over two thousand stories drawn from everyday life. He writes about farm work, fishing, old trucks, and the kind of people you only find in small towns — but just as likely he'll hand a voice to a weathered telephone pole, or turn his eye on something happening in the world today and tell you exactly what he thinks about it. No subject is off limits. If there's a story in it, George will find it. He has been called a philosopher of everyday life, a description that came up more than once during his television appearances over the years — and it's not hard to see why. His writing has a way of making the ordinary feel worth sitting with. He is the author of eleven books, including yearly short story collections and the Clay Moretti Files mystery series. Clay is a fifty-year-old private investigator who drives a 1967 Ford Galaxie, smokes cigars, and operates by a code the modern world gave up on a long time ago. The cases are present day. The man handling them is not. All titles are available in paperback and eBook on Amazon. Together, George and his wife Ruth have also created Elmer Finds His Way, the first in what he hopes will be a long series of children's books. Ruth did all the illustrations, as she has for every one of George's books — and beyond that she designed and painted the covers as well. Her work is woven into every page of everything he has published. A few words from readers: "I pulled up a kitchen chair and read your story three times." "You have a way of making a person homesick for a place they haven't been to." "Thank you for writing things that make old people and kids feel the same way at the same time." All my titles are available in paperback and eBook on Amazon.ca here.

Warm Weather Brings On Headaches? Crazy Talk

Now here is an article that is right out to lunch.  Take a look.

Higher temperatures not only prompt people to seek shade, but the rising mercury might also bring on headaches, a large-scale study suggests.

Thing is every spring the old blood starts to thin out with the warm weather. Of course it takes time for the old body to adjust.  Also the light is brighter so another reason for a headache to maybe hit a fellow or gal.  So now they come along, the health departments and start telling folks to stay out of the sun.  I gotta tell ya though if you believe that, well I won’t say it.  Just get out there and enjoy the summer weather that old Mother Nature throws at you and have fun. You will be a lot healthier if you do.  Also this is just another way for all them demonstrators that is into this global warming thing.  More fuel for them one might say.  Don’t believe one word of it.  My Opinion Only

The Economy Here In Canada

You know for the past few months now all that I have heard is how bad our economy really is.  I for one don’t really think it’s as bad as some would have us believe. Sure we have lost tons of jobs but that isn’t because the economy is bad, it’s happening because we don’t make or do anything for ourselves anymore here in Canada and when other countries get into hard times we feel it.  What we need is to be a lot more self efficient and start looking after ourselves.  Some folks say well that is being selfish, I say it’s not that way at all, as one has to look after themselves before they can help others.  That’s a fact.  I also think the media has every one so paranoid that they don’t know what to do.  If you think back a few years we had a recession and it was worse than the one we are in now.  So what to do?  Well sure save a bit of money for a rainy day and sure pay off them debts, but don’t let it stop you from living a good healthy life.  If everyone starts to hord their money, you can bet no good will become of it.  And remember this, don’t believe everything the Powers That Be is telling you, especially a liberal view on things.  My old Dad always told me, “George you got a mind of your own, you don’t need anyone else doing your thinking for ya.”     My Opinion Only

Patrol Officer Meets His Match

A patrol officer pulled over Jill for speeding.  Jill was a 65 year old lady from out of state.
The officer asked to see her licence.
‘Don’t have one’ Jill said.

‘Can I please see the Vehicle registration’ the officer asked firmly but politely.
‘Nope’ snapped Jill.
In that case I will have to take you into the Police station and charge you there.  When they arrived the arresting officer said, to the duty sergeant.  This lady has no licence and no vehicle registration.
‘Sure I do’ said Jill sweetly.  This officer has got it in for me, the next thing is he will be saying is that I was speeding.

Help For Cholesterol & High Blood Pressure

Blueberries, Garlic, & Apples – These three foods are tasty and can be easily combined with many other foods in home-made recipes. Garlic and Blueberries lower blood pressure and cholesterol. The fiber pectin in apples decrease the amount of cholesterol produced in the liver. Using these ingredients in your meals can make a healthy impact on your cholesterol and lower blood pressure.

So……….just one more reason to start eating right and get out there in the garden this spring.

Chemotherapy Is A Barbaric Form Of Medicine

Chemotherapy is a barbaric form of medicine, and new research is showing that even when it is called a “success” by western doctors, it is destroying patients’ future health by severely compromising their immune systems. How? By causing massive DNA damage that greatly multiplies patients’ risk of being diagnosed with leukemia and other diseases later in life.

Naturopaths and even many western doctors have long questioned the wisdom of chemotherapy. It’s a highly toxic procedure that, believe it or not, doesn’t have a shred of scientific evidence to back its use. Chemotherapy hasn’t been proven to increase the lifespan of leukemia patients at all. Its only measurable result is to shrink tumors and alter blood chemistry markers in ways that doctors label a “success,” but in terms of real lifespan and quality of life, chemotherapy does nothing. There are far better ways to fight leukemia and cancer than by turning to chemotherapy, radiation or other radical treatments. Even if a patient gets so hoodwinked by their doctor that they choose to undergo the toxic procedure, they’ll greatly minimize their DNA damage by turning to nature and consuming large quantities of chlorella and other superfoods before the procedure. In previous studies described in Superfoods for Optimum Health, patients who ate chlorella before undergoing chemotherapy not only showed the lowest side effects from the treatment, they also went on to survive longer than other patients — much longer. Oncologists were stunned!
