Information For Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:  Well another beauty of a day here in Port Loring Ontario.  Temperatures were sitting at 19.4 C | 66.92 F.

Forecast For Monday:  Nice day will prevail for most of the day.  Some showers will enter into the picture later on this afternoon into tonight and stay with us through Tuesday.  But then back to sunshine and warm temperatures Wednesday.  So not so bad and the gardens do need some moisture.  Hard to believe being such a wet spring but our soil being so sandy it dries quite fast.

Bug Report:  I am happy to report that most insects have settled down a touch. Blackflies are all but gone.  Few deerflies and mosquitoes annoying folks near forests and dark areas.  Other than that quite pleasant.  Great front porch sittin’ weather and might just do some of that today too.

Fishing Report:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 6:00 AM – 9:30 AM.   Then once again a bit later on this afternoon from 2:30 PM – 7:00 PM.  I give it a 3 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few this morning and a 5 fish rating out of 5 this afternoon.  You won’t find a better day for fishing than today. Good Luck!

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry throughout thus far.  Things will change later on today with rain moving into the picture.  Critters are out in great quantities today crossing the highways.  Seems certain days they like to make an appearance.  With that care should be taken.  Don’t need anyone getting hurt.

Around Town:  Weather now is about as good as it is going to get. Not too warm, not too cold, bugs are not too annoying and so far this year winds are light.  Gardens also are growing great so lots of fresh veggies should be on folks plates each day. Nothing is nicer than to be able to walk outside your door and take what you need at any given time.  So healthy for you too at a fraction of the cost in stores.  Enjoy your day my friends.  Stay safe. Tea time here, English Breakfast with a touch of  Plantain Leaf is our choice this morning.  You can reach George Walters if you so wish at [email protected]

Around Town:  Quiet here on this fine Sunday morning.  Folks are taking life easy as it should be.  Few tourists in the area and more arriving each day. Our small store has been doing a brisk business keeping us busy.  Lots of books along with paintings and flutes being sold this year.  Great to see for sure.  Gardens are growing well.  My second crop of romaine lettuce is up and looking good.  Had a few leaf’s for supper last night.  Garlic scape’s are out in full twirl and have been using them in avocado dip daily.  Can’t get much better than that.  With that had better go.  Tea time here orange pekoe this morning for a change.
