Forecast For Today:   Unsettled, probably improving as the day moves forward.

Hunting Times:    This morning the old weather stick is saying the best time to be out there will be from…8:00 AM – 11:00 AM.  Then a bit later from..2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.  Peak tome would be…8:00 AM…10:00 AM & 11:00 AM.  Winds are coming in from the North North East at 0.2 m/s | 0.72 km/h | 0.45 mph.   The sun will set at 6:28 PM.  Major feeding times for the deer today will be right around dusk.  Good Luck!

Around Town:  Quiet is a norm for our area this time of year. But with rifle season for deer slowly moving closer there will be a lot more folks added to our population in a couple more weeks.   Last year I managed to get a really nice buck for the freezer and it was so nice I had it mounted.  Takes about a year to do when all said and done.  Here is a picture of it now hanging in our living room.   IMG_8626Click To Enlarge.  The fellow that does them up does a fantastic job and I would highly recommend him if you are thinking of maybe having one done.  Here is his E-Mail for future reference.  His name is Keith.  E-Mail…[email protected]    Great fellow for sure as he takes the care needed to bring perfection to the mount itself.  We sure are enjoying ours with folks dropping in from all over to take it in.  I know it isn’t some folks cup of tea, but if one really sits down an thinks on it, I am sure they will see the value and I don’t mean in money but in having one done up.  I don’t hunt for the pleasure in killing I hunt for the means to eat as does many others in our area.  When this Buck came along it was so beautiful I just didn’t have the heart to throw the hide or head away, never to be seen again.  Kind of figured I gave it remembrance for the coming of time.  The hide I also got done up and it will be ready for Christmas.  Another great added piece for us to enjoy hanging on the back of our sofa.  Enjoy your day my friends, stay warm and dry.  George Walters  [email protected]

Port Loring Ontario Canada

Good Morning:   Well cool morning out there waking up to temperatures,4.8 C | 40.64 F.

The sun will rise at 7:42 AM and set at 6:41 PM.  I give it a 2 Buck Rating out of 5 for seeing them.  Good luck.

Around Town:  Not to much in the way of things happening in our small community these days.  Highway 522 is very quiet today.  Thinking we might head on into North Bay to take in the sights either today or tomorrow.  Was going to go and see my son Craig in St Catharines , but issues has risen to hold us back.  So just going to take it easy and enjoy Thanksgiving at home this year.  My old Dad used to say one can plan ahead in life, just don’t plan the results.  So true too.  My wife wants to take in the new Michaels store that just opened in North Bay and a few others.  Nice to see these stores moving into the area as it gives folks more reasons to get out of the house.  Also keeps our money local as these stores hire a lot of people in and around our area.  Also they got a new A&W so thinking we might stop off for a tea or something.  I am not much into fast foods but I respect what A&W is doing with their meat with no preservatives, hormones or pesticides in their products.  So with that in mind I tend to support those that is looking after me.  As I say for most parts I stay away from these places but once in awhile we do stop by.  So my friends stay warm and if the sun shows itself try and soak up a few rays.  The old body will thank you for it immensely.

Port Loring Information & Weather & Fishing Times

Good Morning:  Well not a bad looking day so far.  Temperatures were sitting at…11.4 C | 52.52 F waking up with the area covered with fog.  But the sun is burning it up and won’t be long before we see some clear blue skies.

Forecast For Today:     Stormy, much rain will enter into the picture later on this afternoon and into tomorrow.

Fishing Report:   This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 8:30 AM – 11:45 AM.  Then once again a bit later on from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.  I give it a 3 fish rating out of 4 for catching them this morning and a 4 fish rating out of 4 this afternoon.  Will be no problem in bringing them in today.  Good Luck and have fun.

Around Town:  Very quiet this morning, hardly a car moving east or west on highway 522.  Wife and I did go for a drive yesterday to take in the beauty once again that this country has to offer. The colours from the leaves don’t last long, so if one is interested in things like such they should do so this week.  If not it will be to late. I found while out that there isn’t one spot that isn’t worth stopping and taking in.  We as humans think we have so much power amongst our mind and bodies, but in reality it is nothing compared to what nature can do.  Enjoy your day my friends this nice weather won’t hold for much longer.  Soak up some of that sunshine too, in doing so your body will flourish with health.  Which is what is needed for the long cold winter which isn’t to far off.
