Happenings In And Around Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:  Well another cool morning here in Port Loring.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at 11.1 C | 51.98 F.  Will warm up as the day moves forward.

Forecast For Today: Stormy, much rain later on this afternoon and into tonight.  Will remain cloudy till Tuesday.

Bug Report:  Mosquitoes and Blackflies are both competing for the lead on which irritates a person the most. I feel both are about equal at this time.  Cool, then warm sunny weather brings them out in great quantities.  Couple more weeks to go.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry.  There is quite a few deer and moose standing along side and on the highway.  So care should be taken if out and about.  Especially in the evening hours.  Travelling will be great today.

Fishing Times:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM.  Then once again a bit later from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM.  I give it a 4 fish rating out of 5 this morning for catching a few and a 5 fish rating this afternoon.  Can’t get much better.  Winds this morning are coming in from the south at 0.8 m/s | 2.88 km/h | 1.79 mph.  Good Luck!

Around Town;  Crazy weather here in Port Loring.  Daytime highs up into the 70s F and at night down into the 40s.  Even had the oil furnace running here for a few minutes this morning to warm things up and take the dampness out of the house.  Today I am just taking things easy.  Might even get into that western book I have been looking at on my dresser for the past two days.  Every so often the urge seems to strike to read other than write.  What ever the reason I don’t question it, as usually it is a sign of what should be done.  So with that tea time here.  Orange Pekoe tea with Dandelion is what is calling me this morning.  Enjoy your day and stay safe.  You can reach George Walters if you so wish at [email protected]

Happenings In And Around Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:  Cool morning starting things off.  Temperatures were sitting at 7.1 C | 44.78 F.  Will warm up a touch a bit later as the day moves forward.

Forecast For Today:  Becoming fine..  Temperatures will remain pleasant, not to hot not to cold for most of next week.

Bug Report:  Mosquitoes are annoying folks a lot these days along with the blackflies.  One can’t be standing around for any length of time.  Hard to get away from the mosquitoes as they follow a person into the dwellings.  Blackflies like to reside outside if at all possible.  Couple more weeks and the worst should be over.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry through out.   Travelling couldn’t be better.

Fishing Times:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM.  Then again from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating for catching a few this morning and a 3 fish rating for catching a few this afternoon.  Winds this morning are once again calm coming in from the North North East.  The air is cool this morning, but the sun is nice.

Around Town:  Not  much to report here this morning.  Folks are sleeping in a bit as hardly a car moving up or down the highway.  That will change with more tourists moving into the area every day.  Gardens are looking good these days with plants growing leaps and bounds.  I suspect I should be eating lettuce in the next couple days. Garlic also is putting on a great show.  Up to a height of around15 inches.  Going to be a great crop this year.  Nothing more healthier than a piece of raw garlic every other day.  Don’t need to much as it has a lasting effect.  With that, tea time here.  Thinking an orange pekoe will taste good this morning.  Enjoy your weekend and stay safe.
