Happenings In And Around Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning: Well waking up this morning temperatures were sitting at 0.1 C | 32.18 F.

Forecast For Today:  Stormy with snow off and on most of the day turning colder.  Will be quite cold tonight and through tomorrow as well.  The winds are coming in from the North North West.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is snow covered with some icy sections throughout.  Not a good day for travelling.  I would recommend staying home if possible.

Snow Report:  No snow accumulations over night.  It is coming down quite rapidly though this morning.  Blowing snow makes things worse which it is doing at this time.  Winter wonderland out there today.

Ice Fishing Times:  I hear the ice huts are being taken off the lakes in Nippising as the ice is melting quite rapidly these days.  I would think we should follow their example.  Its not worth some one getting hurt for the sake of a few fish.  There will be plenty of time for fishing sitting in a boat.in the near future.  Tomorrow will be the last day for the Ice Fishing Times for this season.  Today though the old weather stick is saying that the best time to be out there will be from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM.  Then again from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM. I give it a 5 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  If unsure of the ice thickness stay off it.  Good luck and stay safe.

Around Town: There is a Community Paramedical Program in Effect for our area. For all the information click flyer below.  Enjoy your day and with this blowing snow be careful out there.  Good thing is it won’t last for long, seems to be the trend for our area year after year. Happenings In & Around Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:  Well starting off with the first day of spring it is not so bad.  A touch cool with temperatures waking up sitting at -5.3 C | 22.46 F.  Winter is finally over, as far as dates goes which is fine with me. You have to start somewhere.

Forecast For Today:  Some sunshine along with some clouds.  Later on we will have some mixed precipitation coming our way.  Could be snow, could be rain could be freezing rain.  This will continue through the night and into tomorrow.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry throughout.  Things could change later on this afternoon.  As of now travelling is good.

Snow Report:  No snow accumulations over night.  I would say our snow here is well over half gone.

Ice Fishing Times:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM.  Then again from 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM.  I give it a 5 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  Good Luck!

Around Town:  Things are quiet these days with stores occasionally doing a modest business.  But that will change within a month or so with the tourists and cottage owners entering into the picture.    Kind of like us waking up in the morning.  Takes a bit for things to become apparent, then the day carries on with what we make it into.  Some choose to make it a good day, others not.  For myself I make a nice tea, sit back and let the thoughts of what should take place enter and then…let it happen.  Enjoy your day my friends.  You can reach me if you so wish at [email protected]

Good Morning:  Well a touch cool here this morning.  Waking up temperatures were sitting at -13.7 C | 7.34 F.

Forecast For Today:  We should see lots of sunshine today with temperatures warming up.  Will even be warmer tomorrow but then things will get colder for three or four days.  Then back into some nice weather.  So patience is what is needed this time of year.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry throughout.  Travelling will be good today.

Snow Report:  No accumulations overnight.  In spite of the cooler weather we have had in the past few days the snow is still melting slowly.

Ice Fishing Times:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM.  Then again a bit later from 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM.  I give it a 3 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.

Around Town: Not to much to report here this morning.  Other than a flu bug going around town.  So make sure you wash your hands more often and try to stay clear of those that are sick.  Good Luck?  Enjoy your day.  You can reach me at [email protected]

Happenings In & Around Port Loring Ontario Canada

Good Morning:  Well nice looking day out there this morning.  Hope everyone had a great St Patrick’s Day.  This morning waking up temperatures were sitting at -8.3 C | 17.06 F.

Forecast For Today:  Unsettled, probably improving.

Snow Report:  No snow accumulations over night.  Could see a bit tonight and into tomorrow.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry today which will make travelling quite nice.  Especially with the sun shinning down upon us.

Ice Fishing Times:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM.  I give it a 5 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  Good Luck!

Around Town:  I see in the news the wind farm has been stopped in Mattawa.  My own personal opinion is that it’s for the best.  I can’t see our money, taxpayers money, being paid out for something that costs us money.  Not to forget the effects it would have had on Nature. There are a lot better avenues out there where our money should be going.  That’s the problem today, so much waste. Big ideas never being thought out.  As I say, my opinion only.  So with that it’s tea time here.  Corn Silk tea is my choice this morning.  Great for bringing on happiness, strength and contentment.   In reality what more could a person ask for?  Enjoy your day.  You can reach me at [email protected]

Happenings In & Around Port Loring Ontario Canada

Good Morning: Cool Tuesday morning here in Port Loring.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at -4.3 C | 24.26 F.

Forecast For Today: Rather unsettled clearing later.  Will remain cold for the next few days then the trend will lean towards some warmer weather.

Snow Report:  No snow accumulations over night.

Highway Report:   Highway 522 is bare and dry throughout.  Travelling should be fine to go pretty well anywhere.

Ice Fishing Times:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 6:30 AM – 9:30 AM.  Then once again from 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM.  I give it a 4 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  Good Luck!

Around Town:  Not to much happening in and around our small community these days.  We did make a trip into North Bay yesterday if for nothing more than to get out of the house and take in the scenery.  Roads were great and along the highway the deer were out in abundance.  Couldn’t begin to count how many we seen.  Care should be taken if driving around dusk as they do venture onto the road without giving the cars or trucks a second thought.  Stores in North Bay were doing a brisk business.  We had to wait in the check out lane for a spell in every store we shopped in.  Had a great day.  Tea time here, English Breakfast this morning all on its own.  Enjoy your day and stay safe.  You can reach me at [email protected]
