Food For Thought

In this post, I want to talk about a little something called the carbon tax, a modern-day imposition that’s got the working man scratching his head and his pocketbook feeling lighter.

You see, in the grand scheme of things, the powers that be, have decided that slapping a tax on carbon emissions is the way to go. They say it’s for the good of the environment, a noble cause if there ever was one. But let me tell you, from where I’m sitting, it’s the working man who’s bearing the brunt of this burden.

Now, they’ll try to sell you on the idea that they’re being oh-so-generous by giving us a refund now and then. But let’s call a spade a spade. Simply put, charging carbon taxes to the working man, and then handing back a fraction of it, in the form of a refund, is like taking a dollar out of your left pocket, giving you back a quarter, and expecting you to like it.

And what’s worse, this whole charade isn’t doing diddly squat for the environment. You see, while they’re busy patting themselves on the back for being eco-warriors, the reality is that the working man is left struggling to make ends meet. The cost of living keeps climbing, and every extra penny squeezed out of our pockets for carbon taxes just adds to the hardship.

Back in my day, we didn’t have fancy terms like “carbon footprint” or “emissions trading schemes.” But what we did have was common sense. And let me tell you, there’s nothing sensible about burdening the hardworking folks who keep the wheels turning, with a tax that’s as ineffective as a screen door on a submarine.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m all for doing right by Mother Nature. But there’s got to be a better way than squeezing the life out of the working man’s paycheck. I think it’s time for the powers that be to wake up and smell the coffee brewing. We need solutions that don’t just sound good on paper, but actually make a difference where it counts.

So, that’s my two cents for what it’s worth: In closing, I think we need to put our heads together, and come up with real solutions that benefit everyone, not just line the pockets of the bigwigs up in their ivory towers. Because at the end of the day, it’s the working man, the backbone of this country we call Canada … who deserves better than being treated like a piggy bank for the powers that be. And don’t get me talking about taxes other than the carbon tax.

That’s another story in itself. All Of The Above Is My Opinion Of Course. GW

Canadian Dollar

Low Canadian dollar means costs of fruits and veggies to rise.

So they say.  Well that is par for the course  taking into consideration that our Powers That Be has all but eliminated all our small farmers here in Canada.  On the bright side though it will be a plus to those that are still in the farming business here in Canada.  As the grocery stores will be forced to seek cheaper produce.  Which in turn can only be found here in Canada. Will this occurrence make for more farmers here at home?   I will have to think on that.  But in saying all this it is just one more reason to seek out a nice sunny spot on your own property and do some planting come spring.  If you do this you eliminate all of the above.  Have a good day.

Raw Walnuts Cancer & Other Things

Nutritional science now confirms walnuts contain nutrients that are necessary for healthy brain function, such as omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E; but even more compelling clinical research has emerged in only the past four years showing that walnut consumption reduces biomarkers of prostate cancer in humans, and suppresses prostate cancer tumor growth in the animal model. Other cancers walnuts have been studied to suppress include breast and colorectal. Remember this, only raw nuts an seeds are what you should be eating.  Cooked, baked in oil with salt added, has no beneficial matters to it at all and in time will contribute to what ails you.  Also think about this.  If one just looks at a walnut what do you see? A vision of a prostate or the brain should come to into view.  Doesn’t that tell you something?  Does me as it tells an shows me that Mother Nature is just busting at the seams to show you were to find help. And what do most folks do?  Well they refuse to believe that she can help. They refuse to believe that it can be that simple, they only believe what the doctors of today tell them.  They get sicker.   Take the blinders off my friends do the research and your questions will be answered.  Now don’t get me wrong here, as I am not totally against the medical profession.  I respect them to the point that they are doing just what they were taught to do.  They don’t know any better.  Problem is that most won’t even consider, or look at the alternative medicine, which is totally wrong through my eyes.  There are a few doctors though that are changing their views on things, which is a good thing, lets hope they keep it up and more comes on board quickly.   One last thing, store bought vitamins and over the counter items do not do what they say they do for most parts. Most are man made substitutes which our body rejects. The only thing they do is take money out of your pocket and puts it in the huge corporations pockets, simple as that.  Nutrition is the only way to go.  Fresh Organic Veggies and Fruits, along with items from Mother Natures Treasure Chest along with common sense.  Use these my friends and your world will open up  in a whole new direction toward health. Cancer, Pharmaceutical Companies, Go Hand In Hand

When it comes to the folks that make drugs I firmly believe that they want you to remain sick, tired and looking for Pharmaceutical Solutions.  What needs to be done is we have to open our eyes towards Natural Solutions instead of the medicines of today, or most of them.  if we humans start to do this taking back control of our own bodies, these profit seeking folks will soon begin to go out of business,  The only way they can keep going is if you as a person keeps the blinders on.  I am thinking though that things are changing.  Especially when it comes to cancer and many other diseases. Folks are wising up, they are realizing that the treatments out there today isn’t helping, not one bit, if anything…. they are making things worse.  There are so many natural cures out there, just that folks minds have been corrupted into thinking that there is no other way..   Not true my friends.   When you find the problem, do the research and fix the problem.  I believe that all the diseases we get can be cured by good healthy nutrition.   We have to start putting into our body nothing but good food, not poisons.  Along with that we have to watch what we put on our skin toom as the chemicals that are in things today, like most shampoos,. soaps and things like that are  deadly.  So there you go my daily rant, do these things my friends, put a smile on your face and be happy, that is what is most important in life.  My Opinion Only.

Noah’s Ark

Now don’t get me wrong here I am not a religious person by no means and always will be that way but this article my Sister Barb sent me was pretty well right on the money and …well, worth the read.   Take a look.  Thanks Sis, good one

Noah in Modern Times

Here’s a funny modern day take on Noah’s Ark. It’s just for a laugh, so please don’t take it too seriously 🙂
And the Lord spoke to Noah & said: “In six months I’m going to make it rain until the whole earth is covered with water & all the evil people are destroyed. But I want to save a few good people, and two of every kind of living thing on the planet. I am ordering you to build Me an Ark.”
And in a flash of lightning he delivered the specifications for the Ark.
“OK,” said Noah, trembling in fear and fumbling with the blueprints.
“Six months, and it starts to rain, “thundered the Lord. “You’d better have my Ark completed, or learn how to swim for a very long time.”
And six months passed. The skies began to cloud up and rain began to fall. The Lord saw that Noah was sitting in his front yard, weeping. And there was no Ark.
“Noah,” shouted the Lord, “where is my Ark?” A lighting bolt crashed to the ground next to Noah.
“Lord, please forgive me!” begged Noah. “I did my best. But there were big problems.
First I had to get a building permit for the Ark construction project, and your plans didn’t meet code. So I had to hire an engineer to redraw the plans.
Then I got into a big fight over whether or not the Ark needed a fire sprinkler system.
My neighbors objected, claiming I was violating zoning by building the Ark in my front yard, so I had to get a variance from the city planning commission.
Then I had a big problem getting enough wood for the Ark because there was a ban on cutting trees to save the Spotted Owl. I had to convince U.S.Fish and Wildlife that I needed wood to save the owls. But they wouldn’t let me catch any owls. So no owls.
Then the carpenters formed a union and went out on strike. I had to negotiate a settlement with the National Labor Relations Board before anyone would pick up a saw or hammer. Now we have 16 carpenters going on the boat and still no owls.
Then I started gathering up animals, and got sued by animal rights group. They objected to me taking only two of each kind.
Just when I got the suit dismissed, EPA notified me that I couldn’t complete the Ark without filing an environmental impact statement on your proposed flood. They didn’t take kindly to the idea that they had no jurisdiction over the conduct of a Supreme Being.
Then the Army Corps of Engineers wanted a map of the proposed new flood plain. I sent them a globe.
Right now I’m still trying to resolve a complaint from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission over how many Croatians I’m supposed to hire, the IRS has seized all my assets claiming I’m trying to avoid paying taxes by leaving the country, and I just got a notice from the state about owing some kind of use tax.
I really don’t think I can finish your Ark for at least another five years,” Noah wailed.
The sky began to clear. The sun began to shine. A rainbow arched across the sky.
Noah looked up and smiled. “You mean you’re not going to destroy the earth?” Noah asked, hopefully.
“No,” said the Lord sadly, “The government already has.”
