Information, Weather & Hunting Times For Port Loring Ontario Canada

Good Morning:   Well a touch cooler this morning waking up to -6.4 C | 20.48 F.   With all the snow and cooler temperatures kind of makes a feller feel like winter is closing in on us.  But then again it is November.

Forecast For Today: Fairly fine, possible snow early.  We will see plenty of sunshine today and into tomorrow also.  Temperatures will warm up to around 9 C / 50 F tomorrow which should take care of most of the snow we have now.

Hunting Times:  This Morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM.  Then again a bit later from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.  Prime times will be… 9:00 AM, 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.  I give it a 3 Buck Rating Our Of 5 For Seeing A Few.  Sun rose this morning showing off at 7:02 and will set at 5:05.  Feeding time for the deer will be 1/2 hour before dusk.  Winds are coming in from the…North North East and at the moment calm.  They will rise a touch to around 6 MPH a bit later on this morning.  Good Luck!

Around Town:  Highway 522 is bare for most parts throughout but there are a few snow covered areas here and there.  So care should be taken if out and about.  With weather being as it is most furnaces here in town are perking away.  Some wood, some oil and some gas with a few others included.  Have to say it sure feels good too. Our new wood furnace is sure a treat thanks to Jamie Mathews for hooking things up and  getting it burning like it should.  Does take some getting used to after the old one we used to have but the way things are going it will sure save on the wood and oil bill this winter. Hardly takes any wood at all to heat this house now. But then we did a lot of renovating over the past three years.  Insulating the whole house in the walls has helped immensely also. Was a very good investment.  So my friends have a great day and if possible try and get outside and soak up some of that sunshine and breath in that fresh northern air.  Good for your constitution and what ails

Port Loring Ontario Canada, Weather, Hunting Times & Information

Good Morning:  Well had quite a snow fall here for Halloween.  One to remember I would think.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at -2.6 C | 27.32 F.

Forecast For Today:  Fairly fine, possible snow early.  Things will warm up to near         45 F / 5 C starting tomorrow and carry on for three days or so.  So the snow we have now won’t last for to long I wouldn’t think.

Hunting times:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from…7:00 AM – 1:30 AM.  Then again from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.  Winds are coming in from the North North East and at the moment calm.  Prime times to be on watch today will be… 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  I give it a 3 Buck Rating out of 5 for seeing a few.  Sun rose behind some snowy clouds at 8:00 AM and will set at 6:06 PM.  Feeding time for the deer will be half hour before dusk.

Around Town:  So Halloween is behind us.  Had a few young ones out gathering up treats drop by last night.  Weather sure wasn’t the greatest for them but seems it takes quite a bit to keep them away from their yearly candy and things.  We sure had some snow up here in Port Loring yesterday, around 6 to 8 inches.  The poor old trees that was taking their time dropping their leaves are just hanging from the weight of the snow.  But it sure does look pretty out there.  Highway 522 is bare for most parts but it does have some icy sections with some snow covered areas here and there.  So if heading into town or just for a drive, care should be taken.  Took a few pictures to show those that doesn’t have snow yet what is in store.  Click Pictures To Enlarge & Have a Great Day. Around Town:   Highway 522 is mostly wet with a few icy sections and some snow covered areas here and there.  So care should be taken.  Seems every year with the first snow fall comes accidents.  Reason being folks aren’t used to it and figure they can drive at the same speeds as when the highways are dry.  So my friends leave early to go where ever your heading and drive slower. Doing so you will have more control of your vehicle which will keep you safe.   The fringe benefit of all this is that you can now take in what nature has to offer.  As with all the snow hanging from the trees it is just beautiful.  Amazes the mind one could say.  But keep your eyes on the road too.  Enjoy your day my friends, stay warm and safe.   You can reach me George Walters at… [email protected]

Port Loring News, Weather & Hunting Times

Good Morning:  Well I said temperatures were going to drop which they have. This morning waking up they were sitting at…-1.4 C | 29.48 F.

Forecast For Today:  Changeable, mending as the day progresses.  Will at the very least have some sunshine with us off and on throughout the day.

Hunting Times:   Today the old weather stick is saying that the best time to be out there hunting will be from..1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.  Peak times will be at…9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  The sun rose at 7:58 AM and will set at 6:08 PM.  I give it a 3 Buck Rating out of 5 for seeing a few.  Winds are calm this morning coming in from the North West. It will rise a bit later to around 4 MPH.  Chances are no matter where you sit today you will do well.  Feeding time today will be right at Dusk.  Good Luck!

Around Town:  Well once again not to much happening in the way of events and things.  Highway 522 is Bare with a few wet sections after yesterdays rain.  This sun will dry things up in a bit.  Few leaves need to be raked up around our house here now, which will be added to our vegetable gardens along with others.  Makes for some really nice soil come spring. The only ones not to put in your gardens would be walnut, or oak.  I also don’t put in to many birch tree leaves as over the years I have found these to raise the acidic levels up to high.  Same goes for pine needles.  All the rest though are very good for maintaining a good PH in your soil.  When I was farming my old Dad used to say you only get out of your soil what you put into it.  True too.  So my friends enjoy your day, dress warm and try and get out and breath in some of that fresh northern air along with allowing a bit of that sunshine reach your skin.  You can reach me George Walters at [email protected]

Around Town:  Highway 522 is Bare and Wet.  For myself today got some inside work to do and will be taking it a bit easy.  Old body is telling me to rest up some.  Around town here things are slowing down some business wise.  But that is to be expected this time of year.  Thinking though most folks made out OK, at least with the ones I have chatted to over summer.  Gardens here are all done up for winter.  Garlic is planted and in their beds snug and warm for what is to come and should make a good showing come spring.  Don’t think there is a more healthier food one could add to their diet, cooked or raw.  So my friends, stay warm and dry, chat tomorrow.  You can reach me George Walters at..
