Port Loring Information, Weather & Hunting Times

Good Morning:   Well not to cold this morning.  Waking up temperatures were sitting at…8.9 C | 48.02 F.

Forecast For Today:  Stormy, much rain throughout the day.  Could see a touch of sunshine off and on.  Warm.

Hunting Times:  This morning the old weather stick along with some data is saying that the best time to be out there today will be from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM. Then again a bit later from 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM.  Prime times are…11:30 AM and 5:30 PM.  Winds are coming in from the South East at  2.9 m/s | 10.44 km/h | 6.49 mph.  I give it a 2 Buck Rating out of 5 for seeing a few.  Feeding time today for the deer will be a few minutes before dusk which will be about the best of the best this month.

Around Town:  Well not much happening here in Port Loring.  Highway 522 is bare and wet. A few trucks and things moving around but other than that quiet.  Four Wheelers are in abundance with  Deer hunting season edging in on us.  Thinking there will be a lot of folks in the bush this season.  Just one more reason to take extra care.  Also see the OPP out and about checking folks out so might pay to double check your licences and things. Don’t need any law officer taking away ones trophy buck.  Years ago I had something like that happen to me.  I was coming back from Florida and through the mountains a deer run out in front of me.  Few minutes later a Trooper came by asked if I was OK and if I wanted the deer.  I said nope no where to put it.  He then threw it on top of his car marked Sheriff and drove off.  Leaving me standing there with a smashed up car that wouldn’t go anywhere.  Had me thinking there for a few minutes, but about a half hour later he came back with a tow truck.  Said he had to get his family to skinning the deer.  Later on we had a pretty good laugh out of that.   So my friends you have a great day and enjoy the warm weather as it isn’t going to last for much longer.  You Can Reach Me, George Walters at… [email protected]

Port Loring Ontario Canada Information, Hunting Times & Weather

Good Morning:   Well the sunshine we had yesterday left us with rain this morning.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at 9.9 C | 49.82 F.

Forecast For Port Loring:   Stormy, much rain for most the day.  We might see a touch of sunshine later on, touching on the might side pretty hard.

Hunting times:     This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.  Then a bit later from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.  I give it a 3 Buck Rating out of 5 for seeing a few.  Winds are coming in from the South at 0.8 m/s | 2.88 km/h | 1.79 mph.  Feeding times will be about a half hour before dusk.   Good Luck!

Around Town:  Well pretty quiet here this morning. Highway 522 hardly a car can be seen.   Yesterday morning waking up I had some computer problems so took it to my son Karl and found it was the Power Supply.  So $70.00 later and a trip to Staples along with a bit of work on my sons part, things are back in order here this morning.   While in town we picked up a few items of  choice, had supper with our son as it was his birthday and relaxed a bit at his apartment later on.  I have to say the stores there in North Bay were major busy.  Had to wait for quite a spell in all the check outs.  Good sign though as it means folks are our and about spending money.  Also noticed gas prices were down some for a change at the Esso at 1:23.  Still to high for a country that produces it.  One would think that we as Canadians should be given a break ahead of other countries.  But in this old world money is what directs it it seems.  So my friends have a great day. Port Loring Ontarion Canada…News, Weather & Hunting Times

Good Morning.  Well another frosty morning here in Port Loring Ontario.  But on the good side the sun is shinning.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at…-2.5 C | 27.5 F

Forecast For Today:  Mostly Sunshine Today with temperatures warming up to             13 C / 56 F.  So not a bad day shaping up.

Hunting Times:   Today Grandfathers Formula says the best times to be out there will be from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM.  Then a bit later from  4:30 PM – 6:00 PM.  Prime times are… 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM & 6:00 PM.  Sun rose at 7:47 and will set at 6:20 PM.  Lots of time to hunt.  Winds today are coming in from the North  and at the moment is calm.  They will increase a bit later to about 5 MPH.  So pick your spot wisely and good luck.  I give it a 3 Buck Rating out of 5 for seeing a few today.

Around Town:  Well yesterday I decided to try and see if I could get the tiller into the garden. Being so wet didn’t think it would work out but it did, so got it tilled up and in doing so thought I might be lucky enough and get my garlic planted.  Which I did.  So it is all planted and covered with leaves.  Come spring should have a really nice crop of garlic I am thinking.  This year I got some special kind from a friend that grows it for a living.  He brought me up quite a bit so will have lots for next year. The cloves are about the size of a normal bulb you buy in the store.  He said I would enjoy these ones come next summer.  So time will tell.  Good feeling with things getting done up around the homestead here.  Still got to bring in the firewood but got to wait till the old back eases up some, as it is not feeling so good these days.  Cold weather doesn’t help much neither.  So my friends have a great day.  You Can Reach George Walters at…  [email protected]
