Morning Chat April 25/2021

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy, cool rainy day here for us here in Port Loring Ontario, Canada. The temperature getting out of bed was sitting at 3.6 C | 38.48 F. It won’t warm up much more today. However, in saying that … things will start to get much warmer starting tomorrow and continue the trend towards summer from now on. Taking a close look at things, I suspect that our summer this year will be hazy, somewhat warmer than normal, humid and dry for most parts. Which will make for a nice summer, that is if you like the warm temperatures. I do myself other than at nights when going to bed. The good part about that is, that our bedrooms are on the north side of our home, which is shaded with lots of tall pines. Put them together with lots of windows things are pretty comfortable for us in the evening hours. On another note yesterday was sure a nice day. My wife and I did get some front porch sitting in, after lunch enjoying a nice cup of fresh perked coffee. Today being so wet and cool I am thinking I will work on a few new stories I have in my mind for my newspaper columns and magazines, that I have been writing for, for years. I like to get a few lined up, so I don’t have to be inside the house when the nice weather arrives. And we do have lots to do this year finishing up our cottage to be. It should be ready for our family members and friends mid-summer. I hope LOL. The thing is I never know what a day might bring. Some days my wife and I head off in one direction, and end up at the opposite end of things. Life is a mystery. And you know … I like it that way. With that bit of info under your hat I am off for a bowl of cereal with my lovely wife, and will then see what happens. Take care and stay safe. We are getting a lot more infections here in Ontario with this virus. Yesterday we were crowding the 4500 mark with over 20 that had died. I feel for those that have had to go through this. Especially when a lot of these deaths and infections could have been prevented. I can’t understand for the life of me, why some humans never learn, or want to learn, or don’t learn from previous happenings. GW

Good Morning! It is a nice day with the sun showing off. The temperature getting out of bed was sitting at 6.4 C | 43.52 F. It will warm up a lot as the day progresses. Things are sure greening up these days and the trees are starting to show their buds. On another note my wife and I went to town yesterday to pick up our groceries that we order online. We had a good day and got back home around 2:00 PM. Today we will take it a bit easy and if I feel up to it, I might do some outside work I have planned. With that, have a great day and stay safe. Travellers from abroad

Canadians that live here in Canada are told to stay home, don’t travel. Visitors from other countries is another story, with our government saying ,,,, come on in.

And we wonder why a lot of people here in Canada are upset with the rules that are in place today.

It doesn’t make sense to me.

What we need to do, is look after our own people first. If we do that, we get better. Then we can help others!!

Morning Chat April 21/2021

Good Morning! We are having a wee bit of sunshine this morning. But in saying that, it is cold outside with the temperature getting out of bed sitting at -5.3 C | 22.46 F. It won’t warm up too much more than it is already. Tomorrow though the weather starts to be nicer. And by the weekend it looks as if we might be able to do some porch sittin’. That would be nice. Overnight everything froze solid, and there is about an inch of ice in my rain barrel. That tells you how cold it is outside. I was planning on installing some more under drainage pipe today, but at the moment the ground is a touch hard for digging. And I don’t feel like working in the cold at the moment. Reason being, the old body doesn’t move as fast when it gets this cold. You could say it rebels. So knowing that, I suspect I will write up a story or two for my newspaper columns. On another note, there has been a lot of new visitors at our bird feeder. Redwing black birds, nuthatches, sparrows, blue jays, even robins, and a few others I haven’t recognized yet. I might have to get out my bird book. Along with them, we have our two regular Crows that comes every day and one huge Raven. We call him Jumper as when he goes to pick up some food we put out there for him, he jumps constantly while he is eating. He puts a smile on our face every day, as do the other birds. Nature can sure be entertaining, if you take the time to watch them. With that I am off for my morning bowl of oatmeal with my lovely wife, and will then see what the day has in store, other than what I have planned. Stay safe. The numbers are dropping a bit now with this virus, but that is only because most people are doing what they should be doing. Staying home! Have a great day. GW
