Morning Report Feb. 8/2016

Good Morning:  Snowy morning here waking up in Port Loring Ontario.  Temperatures at 7:00 AM was reading -0.7 C | 30.74 F.

Forecast For Monday:  Stormy.  Could see a few inches of snow before things settle down.  Will also warm up a bit more to around 2 C / 35 F.  Which could turn the snow to rain.  Kind of a waiting game today to see what develops.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is snow covered at this time and traveling will be poor.  Good day to stay home.

Fishing Information:  Today once again fishing won’t be so good.  But in saying that the old weather stick is predicting that the best times to be out there will be from 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM.  Then later on from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM.  I give it a 1 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  Dress warm if out and stay dry.

Snow Accumulations.  Overnight we had about two inches of new snow. More on the way.

Pain Related To Weather:  Today the weather will play havoc with folks and could cause one to move slow which is what should be done when things gets to hurting a bit.  But moving is the remedy, just a little at a time.  Worst thing one can do for body aches is to just sit or lay and let it take hold.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 does have some icy sections throughout but for most parts it is pretty good.  Traveling should be okay today but as always in winter care should be taken.

Fishing Information:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.  Poor day for fishing. I give it a 1 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  Weather these days just isn’t cooperating.  But it will eventually improve.

Pain Related To Weather:  Today the weather will help nor hinder a person.  Just going to kind of sit there.  I guess that is okay.  Great day for a walk even though the sun isn’t shinning.  Fresh air is every bit as important as is the sun.  Put them two elements together and,  No Flu Shot Needed.

Good Morning Port Loring Feb. 1/2016

Good Morning:  Nice looking day here in Port Loring Ontario.  Waking up temperatures were sitting at -2.1 C | 28.22 F.   Great day to soak up some sunshine and breath in some fresh northern air.  Do that and no Flu Shot Needed.

Forecast For Today:  Might see some sunshine early in the day with temperatures warming up only a couple degrees from what it is now.   Great looking day with the sun coming up in the east.  You know my wife and I enjoy the sun rises more than the sunsets.  We go out of our way to find places that we can set and watch it break into a new day.

Snow Report:  Had about one inch last night with a total of around 1  foot on the ground in total.   Lot of melting took place yesterday.

Fishing Report:  Well with hunting behind us I see folks out on the ice doing a bit of fishing.  Today the old weather stick along with gathered data taken from our very own weather station right here in Port Loring is saying that the best times to be out there with pole in hand will be from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM.  Then once again from 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM.  Not the greatest day for fishing but in saying that I give it a 2 fish rating out of 5.  One just never knows.

Aches and Pains Due To Weather.  Today there is a risk that the weather could cause a few pains.  So care should be taken.   Colder weather will be back with us later on in the week which in turn will help fight off all them flu and cold germs that are being spread around.  If sick my friends stay home.  Then once better build up your immunities naturally.

Around Town:  Myself I just been getting things back in order after our trip to Florida.  Got some painting to do then will get on with making my Native American Flutes for the year.  I like to have around 50 or so on hand come summer.  My wife she is busy painting up a few items of choice which will also be available at her art studio come spring.  So, yep we are keeping busy.  Busy but not in the sense of the word of it being a chore, as it isn’t.  We are doing things we enjoy.  Huge difference.  No better place to do this than right here in Port Loring Ontario Canada.  Enjoy your day my friends.  GW

Good Morning From Crystal River Florida Dec 5/2015

Another nice day here waking up.  Temperatures were sitting at 65 F. Will warm up into the high 70s shortly.  Today w e will take in some country and visit a couple produce stands which occur along the main highways.  Lots to choose from which we like, especially the fresh tree ripened grapefruit.  Can’t beat them for taste.  After that will just let the day happen and see what it brings us.  Yesterday while out I took a couple of pictures of one of most favorite cars.  Used to own one many years ago.   Click Pictures below to enlarge.  Oldie but goodie. George’s Morning Post For Dec. 3/2015

Good Morning: Great day shaping up here in Crystal River Florida. Sun is burning off the morning mist as it does every morning.   Then some front porch sittin” will be in order.  Seems the outside draws a feller down here.  The smells also intrigue a fellow making one come alive.  Not sure if it is being so close to the Gulf with the salt water or the smells that arrives from the trees around us.  Probably a combination.   With that will head on off for my morning tea and let the day unfold around us.  Rough life down here.  But some one has to deal with it,  might as well be us.  I also added a few pictures below all self explanatory as you will see once you enlarge them.

George’s Afternoon Post

Well one beauty of a day here in Crystal River Florida.   Temperatures are sitting at 86 F.  Not to shabby.   Today we ventured out a ways taking in what was in the area.  Lots to see.  Going to take us a month to figure out where everything is.  But it is fun doing so.   Took a drive in a friend of ours car today to pick up some groceries.   Thought I would share a picture or two of that event.  Also snapped a picture or two of some eagles nesting on top of a pole.  Seems they like it up there, as I think every other pole had a nest on top.  Good view for sure.   With that heading off for a cool drink and let the day finish up around us.  IMG_7744 IMG_7616 IMG_7613

George’s Morning Post For Nov. 30/2015

Good morning from Inglis Florida. Really nice morning here waking up temperatures were sitting at 70 F.  Will rise quite rapidly shortly.  Once the sun is up warm temperatures are upon us.

Today we are going to head off to a park to see what they have to offer.  Yesterday we were on location for a TV show called The Bay at 9.  Did a live interveiw  all realting to my life , friends and where we live.  Put Port Loring on the map, we did.   After that carried on with our day.  Was a great day for sure.  But then….what day isn’t nice here in Florida.

Took a couple pictures which are below.  Click to enlarge.  With that heading off for my morning tea outside on our deck.   That is after our morning orange juice.  Enjoy your day and stay safe.

George’s Daily Post For Nov. 29/2015

Good Morning from Inglis Florida. Great morning, sunny with temperatures sitting at 25 C / 78 F. Can't beat that for winter temperatures. Had a great trip down other than a bit of traffic in certain areas. But dealt with it as it came. In our area there is lots of fresh fruit and vegatable stands so will be taking some of them in today. Then maybe head on over to the beach for a bit. Rough life down here, But I will put up with it.

Looking out my window of our cottage the moss is hanging from the trees with the day just beconing us to come outside, along with the morning doves waiting our presence. Which we will do shortly. Thinking a coffee on our deck is in order this morning. Great way to start the day off. Lots to see here in our area too, so day trips will be taken in great quantities. One thing we like to do wife and I, an that is take in the sights.

So with that I will head on off to my lawn chair and, well, just let the day unfold around us. A poem I like to start my day off with goes like this. Hope you like it as it has meaning which comes from deep within.

Be happy and gay.
Don't ever be sad.
Think what awaits you
Not what you've had

The skies can't be blue
Every day that is true
But always on the morrow
The sun shines thru

So as thru life
We struggle and strive
Isn't it a pleasure
To just be alive??

Enjoy your day my freinds, make it a good day.

Body Pain, Flu’s & Colds Related To Weather:  Today the weather will neither help nor hinder any of the above.  Which in some ways is a good thing.

Snow Report:  This morning waking up we have around 6 – 8 inches of the white stuff.  Winter in Port Loring has arrived.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is snow covered for most parts but the snowplough has been through a few times over night.  Travelling will be touch and go today till things get melted off.  If out and about care should be taken.

Hunting Information:  Be it Bow or Camera today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 7:30 AM – 10:30 AM.  Then once again from 3:30 PM  – 7:00 PM.  I give it a 2 Buck Rating our of 5 for seeing a few.   Not the greatest day for hunting.  Good Luck though!

Around Town: Well this morning most folks will be cleaning out their driveways.  I also will have to get to cleaning as we have a bit of travelling to do.  So had better get moving.  Have a great day and stay safe.  Make it a great day.   Only you can do that.

George’s Daily Post Nov. 21/2015

Good Morning: Cloudy morning here in Port Loring.  Got a storm front moving into our area this afternoon, 5 cm are expected by early evening with another 10 to 15 cm tonight. The snow will taper off on Sunday.  I hope so.  I like snow but I don’t like a whole mess of it. But we do live in the snow belt.  If anyone gets it we do.  Also could see some high winds associated with the storm.

Pain, Colds & Flu’s Related To Weather:   Today the weather will protect us from colds and flu’s.  For aches and pains it will do nothing, neither hinder nor help.  Kind of just going to sit there and let things happen.

Highway Report: As of 9:30 AM, Highway 522 is bare and dry.  That will change as the day moves forward.  Travelling will be good this morning deteriorating this afternoon.  So care should be taken if out and about.  Tomorrow will be a better day, I hope.

Snow Report:  Nothing to speak of at the moment.

Hunting Information;  For those that want to do some scouting with a camera or a Bow the best times to be out there will be from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM.  A fair day for hunting.  I give it a 3 out of 5 Buck Rating for seeing a few.  Good Luck!

Around Town: Not too much happening in and around our small community.  We did head on into North Bay yesterday and most stores were doing a brisk business.  Good to see.  Our son Karl took us for supper at the Montana’s 1899 Algonquin Ave, North Bay, ON P1B 4Y8
Phone:(705) 840-2087.  New place that opened up in the Bay and I have to say it was excellent.  We all ordered something different and all was really tasty.  Prices weren’t all that bad either.  I don’t mind paying a bit more if things are good.  Also the waitress’s were kind and helpful.  So on a score of 1 to 10 I would give it a 8 as of now.  Why only a 8.  Simple, nothing is perfect in life and they still have to do some fixing up on the inside here and their.  All and all no complaints.  With that heading off for my morning tea.  Dandelion this morning.  Good for all kinds of things.  Enjoy your day an stay safe.

George’s Daily Post For Nov. 19

Pain, Flu’s & Colds Related To Weather:  Today the weather will once again play havoc with those suffering with body aches and pains.  (rheumatism) But it will be of help in preventing colds and the flu.  So not so bad a day.

Around Town:  My very good friend Danny Brooks is holding an event in Sudbury ,Wednesday November 25th at the Sudbury Public Library.  He says…We are presenting one of the most powerful workshops we have ever created called
“Unravelling You Inner Workings”.

The workshop is to help people understand WHY what they are currently living isn’t matching up with what they are feeling inside.  We start at 6:30pm at the main library 74 McKenzie Street.
It is going to be a wonderful journey! Should be a great event and you won’t find anyone more knowing than Danny.  Nice fellow.    With that I am heading off for my morning tea.  Chaga is on the menu for this morning. One of Danny’s most favourite drinks.  Good for what ails you along with protecting you from all kinds of not so good things.  Builds ones immunities and the mind.

George’s Daily Post Nov. 18

Good Morning: Cloudy day here in Port Loring Ontario. Waking up temperatures were sitting at 8.9 C | 48.02 F.  Forecast for today is saying it will be stormy, much rain. Great day to get some inside work done up.  Myself I kind of enjoy these days.

Pain, Colds & Flu’s Related To Weather:  Today the weather will be a concern to those suffering with body aches and pains (rheumatism)  On the flip side the weather will keep most colds and flu’s at bay today.  Still no excuse not wash your hands if out visiting, shopping or ?.  If folks did just that after going somewhere, colds and flu’s would be cut in half.  Also over the years I have kept most colds and flu’s at bay by simply not touching my face with my hands.  Good practice to get into.  Also one last thing. If your sick stay at home!!!

Hunting Times:  Today won’t be the greatest for those wanting to do some hunting.  I give it a 2 Buck Rating out of 5 for seeing a few.   Times to be out there will be from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM.  Then a bit later on from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM.  Good Luck!

Around Town:  Things are quiet.  Hardly a car moving up or down the highway this morning.  Thinking I will get into writing up a few stories on this fine Wednesday morning.  Seems the urge hits and has to be done.  With that will head off for my morning tea. Red Rose this morning for a change.  Change is good.  Enjoy your day and stay safe.

George’s Daily Post Nov. 17

Good Morning:  We woke up to some nice sunny weather here in Port Loring Ontario.  Sun was a shinning down upon us which seems to draw a person out from under the sheets.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at 1.3 C | 34.34 F.  Not too cold for this time of year.  Today the sunshine will remain upon us with temperatures remaining quite warm.  Great day to get outside.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry throughout these days.  Travelling today will be good.  No reason to sit around the house.

Snow Report:  Nothing to speak of this morning.  The ground though did have a crust of ice on it though.  Won’t be long before we are covered with the white stuff.

Around Town:  Things are quiet.  In other places they are quite busy with stores being packed with buyers of all kinds.  I have found that folks are spending more these days, buying items that normally wouldn’t be bought.  Good sign of how our economy is really doing.  Buying and not owing is a good thing.  Charging and owning isn’t.  Especially with what they charge on them credit cards these days.  I also see a lot of these money stores popping up here and there.  My advice is to stay away from them.  Not a good practice to get into.  I have found over the years that if I don’t have the money to buy things outright, I just don’t buy it.  Simple as that.  My opinion only of course.  With that enjoy your day, make it a good day.  Only you can do that.
