Morning Report March 26/2020

So how you all doing this Morning? I am hoping you are all well. Not the greatest looking morning, with the clouds and rain. But the good thing is, the rain will clean things up a bit and melt most of the snow that is left. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 2.7 C | 36.86 F. It will warm up a touch more as the day progresses and tomorrow we should be back into sunshine and quite warm. Highway 522 is bare and wet, with no snow overnight. I am thinking we should be done with the snow now. But you never know as temperatures do drop below the freezing mark some nights. On the good side of the coin my wife and I have done a bit of front porch sittin’ in the sunshine for the past two days for an hour or so. Sure is nice to be doing that. Today since it is raining I will stay in and work on a few things I have to do around the house here. On another note relating to this virus I am happy to hear that the government is making it mandatory for folks to be quarantined for two weeks after returning home from holidays or where ever. Actually they should have done that sooner, but I do understand their thinking. Some folks just don’t learn or care, and it’s a shame. The only other thing I am concerned about is that the money that is being given out to folks and business’s. I think we should be only giving it to those that really need it to survive. The reason for this is, that we can’t keep it up and if we keep giving to much away, there won’t be nothing left for any one. . Anyways food for thought. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife. Stay safe and stay home if possible. GW

Morning Report March 25/2020

Good Morning. Cool frosty morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. But the good thing is we didn’t have anymore snow overnight. It will warm up though, as the day progresses, and some sunshine should show itself shortly. Speaking of sunshine it would be a good idea if you have some rugs that need to be disinfected to hang them in the sunshine for a few hours now and then, as the Ultraviolet Rays will kill a lot of things that aren’t good for us humans, including this Virus that is going around. It would also be a great thing to hang out your pillows and comforters too. Just a suggestion. Sheesh you have to be so careful these days LOL. Temperatures waking up were sitting at -2.9 C | 26.78 F. But as I say it will warm up in a bit. Highway 522 is bare and dry which will make travelling good for those that are in need of somethings. For my wife and I we are staying put doing things around the house here and soon we will be able to head on outside and do somethings around the yard that needs to be done. I am looking forward to that. On another note I am hoping those that has arrived back here from other countries after being away for the winter stays put for two weeks. It seems some aren’t, which is just going to make things worse. I say if you don’t care for yourselves, then think of others. Anyways … most are doing what they are told to do, which is a good thing. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and will let the day unfold around me. Take care, stay safe. GW

Morning Report March 24/2020

Good morning. I hope you are all well. It’s a cloudy day here in Port Loring Ontario. Temperatures are a bit warmer this morning sitting at -1.6 C | 29.12 F. It will warm as the day moves forward, and we should see some warm sunshine later on. That I am looking forward too. Anything sun related at this time is good. Why? Well the ultraviolet rays kills the virus itself if it is exposed. The issue is, that it hides inside our bodies where it can’t be seen. But, I figure any help is better than nothing and Nature has a way of doing things. So if it is nice in your area, try and get outside for an hour or so, and of course stay away from your neighbours and friends. You can still talk but from a distance. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning and we didn’t have any snow overnight. Travelling will be good in one sense, but in another you should stay home if possible. Myself I have another Podcast on the go, so that will take up most my day. The thing my wife and I are doing is staying in touch with our family and friends, staying home, and only watching what is going on in the world once a day. We found too much info isn’t the best especially from those that try to twist things to their liking. A lot I found make things worse and put fear into a person. But hey! you can do as you like. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will let the day unfold around me and my lovely wife. The next few days are going to be nice. Take care my friends, stay calm and do what is right. Things will work out. GW

Morning Post March 23/2020

So how you all making out here in Port Loring, Ontario, this morning? Or anywhere for that matter? Cool cloudy morning waking up but we could see some sunshine later on today. Temperatures were sitting at -2.2 C | 28.04 F. It will warm up a wee bit as the day progresses. We didn’t have any snow overnight which is a good thing, as I am ready for some green to start showing up along with warmer weather. Not much happening around our house. My wife an I are taking it easy trying to stay put for awhile. Once it warms up some it will be nice to get outside and work in my shop and gardens. Help take our minds off what is going on. I think what folks has to do now, is look after yourself of course and take the precautions necessary. But right now I feel it would be best to start to do other things than watch the news all day. It’s just to depressing. I say once a day to keep informed, and then get onto other things. That’s my opinion only of course, and it’s what my wife an I are going to be doing in the coming days. So … for today I will work on another new Podcast and do some things around the house. Take care my friends, GW

Morning Report March 22/2020

Good morning. It’s another great looking day. The sun is shinning, what could be better than that? Well … lots actually. But we have to take what is handed to us and then deal with it. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning which will make travelling good, but as we all know best to stay home for now. We didn’t have any snow overnight, but it is quite cool with temperatures sitting at -8.6 C | 16.52 F. It will warm up a lot as the day moves forward. Looking out at the Highway things are very quiet, with folks settled in at their homes. Which is a good thing. There are a lot of places that have closed their doors, like churches and some stores around our area. My wife will be doing up a sign saying we will be closing temporarily with what is going on. But it is for the best, and this is our small way of helping out, as we for sure don’t want to catch it, or spread it to others. On another note, I am working away on another Podcast show for Friday morning, which will keep me busy for most the day. I want to get a few ahead so I can enjoy our nice warm weather and sunshine, when it arrives. With that I am off for a bite to eat. We kind of slept in a bit late this morning. I guess our bodies needed it. You all take care my friends, stay calm and try your best to make it a good day. Positive thinking goes a long way. GW

Morning Report March 21/2020

Good morning. Well other than it being darn cold outside this morning with temperatures sitting at -15.4 C | 4.28 F, its a pretty good looking day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We did have some snow overnight, about one inch. Highway 522 is bare for most parts, but there are some icy sections throughout. It should melt as soon as this sun starts to throw off some warmth. It will warm up as the day moves forward and even warmer tomorrow with more sunshine. That’s what I like to see. My son down in St. Catharines said it was +17 down there, which is nice for sure. He opened all his windows and aired out the house as they have been having so much sickness in their area. So on another note … how are you folks doing? I hope you are taking the precautions that is necessary to keep you and your family safe. Distancing is one of the best. In some areas it doesn’t seem necessary but it is. We all have to do our part…. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will see what mischief I can get myself into. I do have a new Podcast almost ready, so maybe will finish that. While on the subject of my Podcasts, I would like to thank all those that have gotten in touch with me saying how much they are enjoying them. Finally. Every day I get out of bed, I say … We are one day closer to finding something that can help with this virus. I find for me, a positive mind helps a lot. Take care of yourselves my friends. Things will work out.

Morning report March 20/2020

Good Morning Folks. I hope you are all fairing well. It’s a rainy, cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. Temperatures won’t be as warm as it was yesterday but will still be quite nice. Waking up temperatures were sitting at 4.1 C | 39.38 F. We might see a wee bit of sunshine later on in the day. Highway 522 is bare and dry which will make travelling pretty good. If you do travel make sure you practice social distancing. Every bit helps in slowing this down. But I suspect you all know that by now. Yesterday my wife and I took advantage of the nice weather and got outside for most the day. We cleaned the shop and did a bit of yard work. It felt good being outside in the fresh air. Today we will remain in the house doing some things that need doing. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife. Stay calm my friends, things will work out. The main thing is we have to help each other and those in need. From a distance of course. We can do that, as we have the means now a days with internet and phones. A cheerful phone call goes a long way. Take care. GW

Morning report March 19/2020

Good Morning. Looking out the window things look to be shaping up quite nicely. The sun is shinning , and hardly no wind so speak of. Highway 522 is bare and dry which will make travelling good for those that need to do so. Temperatures at the moment are a bit cool sitting at -4.3 C | 24.26 F. But it will warm up a lot shortly which will make it nice to get outside for some fresh air. Tonight though we could see some heavy rain, changing over to some snow as things cool down. But with these temperatures being this warm we shouldn’t get much. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will let the day unfold around me, and once things warm up a bit my lovely wife and I will head on outside for some much needed sunshine and fresh air. Have a great day an stay safe, which can be done from a distance. LOL GW

Morning Report March 18/2020

So another not too bad of a day here for Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun was shinning awhile ago, but at the moment we are under some clouds. It will remain a bit cloudy throughout the day. With sunshine off and on. Temperatures were sitting at -5.2 C | 22.64 F. It will warm up later on this morning and tomorrow should be really nice. Good day to get outside and go for a walk. Maybe wash your car. Mine is clean, washed it yesterday. But I do have some shop work to do so I might get into that. At the moment it is a mess. Highway 522 is bare and dry so travelling will be good, but as you all know, or should know, care should be taken when out and about, keeping your distance from others. Wave, throw them a kiss, or what ever, just not to close for a spell. Kind of a hard thing to do. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee. Have a great day make it a great day. Hang in there. GW

Morning Report March 17/2020

Good morning. Well looking out the window here in Port Loring, Ontario this morning it looks as if we are back into winter. Everything is white. Trees are covered and more coming down. Kind of a good day to stay inside. Highway 522 is partially covered with an icy mix. The plow just went by which will make things a bit easier for travelling if it is absolutely necessary. But as I keep on saying distancing yourself from folks right now is very important. It’s the only way we can slow this virus down a bit. If we slow it down our health personal will then be able to keep up and help those that need help. Temperatures did cool down through the night and getting out of bed they were sitting at 0.1 C | 32.18 F. It will warm up a wee bit as the day progresses. With that I am off to light my wood furnace, trying to save a bit of oil in case of an emergency. I have wood but not to much oil left. Oh one last thing. I would like to thank all those that have written, emailed and called me saying they liked my last Podcast regarding the virus. Look after yourselves my friends and take the precautions necessary, and smile. It goes a long way. GW

Morning Report March 16/2020

Good morning. Great looking day waking up. The sun is shinning, what could be better than that. Although I haven’t checked the news yet. HA HA. But in reality, a day is only as good as you make it. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling quite good. Although, I hope you aren’t travelling to far these days. We did loose a lot of snow yesterday and through the evening hours. I suspect we will loose some more today too. Which is a good thing. The quicker we get into some nice weather the better. With what is happening in the world today. Temperatures waking up were sitting at -4.5 C | 23.9 F but it will warm up some later on, We will also loose a bit of our sunshine after a bit, with clouds entering into the picture. With that … I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and will then see what this day has in store for us. Take care of yourselves. GW

Morning Report March 15/2020

Good morning. Well for a change we all woke up to some sunshine. Great way to start off the day. Temperatures were a bit cool sitting at -10.6 C | 12.92 F. It will warm up as the day moves forward. Highway 522 is bare and dry, which will make travelling good. We didn’t have any snow overnight. And the snow we do have is rapidly melting. Lots of birds at our feeder this morning, enjoying their breakfast. Mostly black birds, with our regular Morning Doves. Nice to see them. Oh can’t forget the Blue Jays. Maybe I will give them an extra scoop this morning. Feel kind of generous today. HA HA. Other than that not much more to report here today. Kind of a quiet day. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee, and will just enjoy this nice sunny day. Have a great day. GW

Morning Report March 14/2020

Good morning Folks. Hope everyone is making out okay with what is going on in the world today. The best thing you can do is restrict yourself from any groups of people and stay calm, and take sanitary protections in and around your home. We have to remember we aren’t going to be able to stop this virus, it will have to run its course, but we do have the ability to slow it down, so that our medical profession has the means to help those that really need it. The window of opportunity is closing, so it is really up to us. The only real treatment is us. Other than that it is another cloudy day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We should see lots of sunshine later on today, which by the way is one thing the virus doesn’t like. Temperatures waking up were sitting at -1.8 C | 28.76 F. It will warm up some as the day progresses. Highway 522 is bare and dry which will make travelling good, but in saying that, if at all possible don’t travel. I figure this thing will peek in about two to three weeks. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and will let the day unfold around me, here at home. Take care. GW

Morning Report March 13/2020

So how you all doing this morning? Good I hope. We all woke up to cloudy weather here in Port Loring, Ontario, this morning. We also are having a few showers thrown in for good measure. I suspect it will continue for most the day. I don’t think we will see any sunshine till later on tomorrow. Temperatures were a bit cool this morning sitting at 1.5 C | 34.7 F. It won’t warm up much more today than it is now. Highway 522 is bare and wet this morning which is good for travelling. My wife and I did make a trip to North Bay yesterday for some supplies. A lot of things are sold out because of this virus that is threatening our country and others. At least some folks are getting prepared which I feel is a good thing. Today I will take things a bit easy as it seems that after a trip to town it takes me a day to recoup so to speak. Probably caused from the money we spent. Ha ha. Man things are getting expensive. Some stores though are trying to capitalize on this virus charging double the normal prices. Kind of makes me shake my head in wonder sometimes. But that is what some folks do from time to time. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and then will see what the day has in store for me. Never know these days. Have a great day , stay calm with what is going on, and do what you can to make things easier for yourself an family. GW

Morning Report March 11/2020

Tomorrow things will warm up a lot with temperatures well above the freezing mark and we should see some sunshine, which will make it just that much better. The long range forecast is looking pretty good too, with temperatures staying on the warmer side of things. Today I will take things a bit easy. With that I am off to put a piece of wood in the furnace and will then have a cup of coffee with my lovely wife. Have a great day! GW

Morning Report March 10/2020

It’s a cloudy rainy day here in Port Loring, Ontario. It rained off and on for most of the night and by the looks of things it is going to continue on through the morning. Highway 522 is bare and wet. Travelling will be okay today other than the rain. Today I have some work to do around the house here which will keep me out of trouble. Temperatures were sitting at 2.1 C | 35.78 F. They will remain up there for most the day then we will see a cooling trend for a day then back to warmer temperatures. It’s going to be a roller coaster with weather this week. But we are into March. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife. Have a good day. GW

Morning Report March 8/2020

Another sunny morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. It’s sure nice waking up to sunshine. Warmer temperatures will be with us today which will make it really nice for getting outside. I might even wash the car today. With our kind of roads things do get a bit messy at times. And it’s good to keep things cleaned up. We didn’t have anymore snow overnight. Today we will loose a lot more once things begin to warm up. Temperatures waking up were sitting at -0.6 C | 30.92 F. Not to bad. Highway 522 is bare and dry which will make travelling good. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will let the day unfold as it so chooses to do. Have a great day. GW

Morning report March 7/2020

Good morning. Hope you all had a great night. Looking outside things are starting off right with lots of sunshine. What can be better than that? Well … for me, warmer weather, along with that sunshine would be nice. Which we will get later on today, and tomorrow we could crowd the 50F/7C mark. Might even put my lawn chairs outside and soak up some of that Organic Vitamin D 3. LOL. Some have asked me, what I think they can do to help with this virus that is starting to spread here in Canada. Well …. looking back at all my notes relating to health, and from what I have learned over the years, I figure if you really want to help yourself and family, you should be taking at the minimum of 1000 UI of Vitamin D3 every day. Make sure it is Vitamin D3. The others are okay, but not as good. It’s to much for me to explain right here an now how it works, but it will help a lot. And of course wash your hands, and wipe down things in your home with a Good Wipe like Clorox Wipes, I don’t recommend Lysol wipes, as they can bother the sinus and other things, which could weaken the lungs. And don’t forget your door knobs and light switches around the home, and your handles and steering wheel on your car. “And if your feeling poorly stay home and get better.” Very Important. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good. So, there you have it and for those that has sent me E-mails an asked, I hope this helps. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and then will see what the day has in store. Other than lighting my wood furnace as it is cool this morning, with temperatures sitting at -11.9 C | 10.58 F. But it will warm up in a bit. Have a great day. GW
