George’s Daily Post Nov. 21/2015

Good Morning: Cloudy morning here in Port Loring.  Got a storm front moving into our area this afternoon, 5 cm are expected by early evening with another 10 to 15 cm tonight. The snow will taper off on Sunday.  I hope so.  I like snow but I don’t like a whole mess of it. But we do live in the snow belt.  If anyone gets it we do.  Also could see some high winds associated with the storm.

Pain, Colds & Flu’s Related To Weather:   Today the weather will protect us from colds and flu’s.  For aches and pains it will do nothing, neither hinder nor help.  Kind of just going to sit there and let things happen.

Highway Report: As of 9:30 AM, Highway 522 is bare and dry.  That will change as the day moves forward.  Travelling will be good this morning deteriorating this afternoon.  So care should be taken if out and about.  Tomorrow will be a better day, I hope.

Snow Report:  Nothing to speak of at the moment.

Hunting Information;  For those that want to do some scouting with a camera or a Bow the best times to be out there will be from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM.  A fair day for hunting.  I give it a 3 out of 5 Buck Rating for seeing a few.  Good Luck!

Around Town: Not too much happening in and around our small community.  We did head on into North Bay yesterday and most stores were doing a brisk business.  Good to see.  Our son Karl took us for supper at the Montana’s 1899 Algonquin Ave, North Bay, ON P1B 4Y8
Phone:(705) 840-2087.  New place that opened up in the Bay and I have to say it was excellent.  We all ordered something different and all was really tasty.  Prices weren’t all that bad either.  I don’t mind paying a bit more if things are good.  Also the waitress’s were kind and helpful.  So on a score of 1 to 10 I would give it a 8 as of now.  Why only a 8.  Simple, nothing is perfect in life and they still have to do some fixing up on the inside here and their.  All and all no complaints.  With that heading off for my morning tea.  Dandelion this morning.  Good for all kinds of things.  Enjoy your day an stay safe.

George’s Daily Post For Nov. 20/2015

Good Morning:  Cloudy morning waking up here in Port Loring Ontario.  Also got a few flurries taking place.  Still a bit to warm for it to stay, but it is a sign of what’s to come.  Temperatures were sitting at 1.3 C | 34.34 F.  Won’t warm up much more than that.  Could see a bit of sunshine off and on.  Tomorrow though we could see some accumulation of snow for the first time, as there is a system going through our area that has some white stuff tied to it.

Pain, Colds & Flu Related To Weather:  Today the weather won’t help or will it hinder.  It’s just going to set there and let things look after their-selves.   Kind of different in some respects.

Road Report:  Highway 522 is wet with a bit of ice forming in certain areas.  Travelling will still be good but care should be taken.

Hunting Information:  Today isn’t the greatest day for hunting. Be it camera or Bow.  I give it a 2 Buck rating out of 5 for seeing a few.  Good Luck and stay safe.  Especially if out there alone.

Snow Report; We are having some flurries as I stated above.  They will become more pronounced as the temperatures drop through the night and into tomorrow.   Colder weather is moving into our area.

Around Town:  Not to much to report here on this fine Friday morning.  Most folks are looking forward to the weekend which is the way folks has been programmed over the years by our Powers To Be.   Amazing how some believe everything that these so called Powers say is correct.  I myself listen but go my own way.  I know about their deviousness and won’t be subjected to what they are trying to say or do.  Something to think about my friends.  With that tea time here Chaga mixed with a touch of Dandelion is on the menu this morning.  Great drink to increase appetite and strength, physically and mentally.  Enjoy your day!

Forecast For Today: Showery early, improving as the day moves forward.  Should see some sunshine later on and into tomorrow.  Things will warm up later on this morning.

Bug Report:  Mosquitoes are annoying folks the most these days.  Few black flies and deer flies as well.  We need some dry days with sunshine to slow them down.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and wet this morning.  Travelling will be good.

Fishing Report: This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best time to be out there will be from 7:30 AM – 10:30 AM.  Then once again from 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few this morning and a 4 fish rating for catching a few this afternoon.  Good Luck.

Around Town: Quiet is the word at the moment.  Things will change in the coming days with the summer holidays for the children entering into the picture.  Vegetable gardens are growing great these days with tomato plants and others showing now what they can do.  Lots of fresh lettuce is on our plates every day.   I did pick up a few more herbs yesterday while we were away.  Got some good deals on them too being so late in the season.  Still, there is lots of time for them to get growing so don’t hesitate if you come upon a few that you haven’t got.  Tea time here.  English Breakfast with a touch of violet pedals.  Good for what ails you along with tasting great.   Have a great day and stay safe.

Happenings In And Around Port Loring Ontario Canada

Good Morning: Cloudy morning here in Port Loring.  Temperatures were sitting at 0.4 C | 32.72 F.

Forecast For Today: Cloudy with rain off and on throughout the day.

Snow Report: No Snow overnight.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry.  Should be no problem for those that want to travel.

Around Town:  Things are quiet these days.  When the sun is upon us folks are out and about though. Which is a good thing.  Our bird feeder is being visited by all different kinds these days, with their migration north in full swing.  Great so see, and they are so entertaining to watch.  The grass is slowly being uncovered from its winters rest and in some places even turning green in colour.  Some spring flowers are starting to push through the hard soil where the sun meets up with them, giving what is needed for growth in the coming days.  Nature is something to watch and take in, even in its smallest occurrences.  Most pass it by, which is a shame.  I am off for a cup of tea and then will see what the day has planned for me. Watching the Masters Golf will be my priority for the next four days starting this afternoon.  The beauty that course holds is something in itself. If you get a chance and are able to get it on your TV take a look.  Enjoy your day and stay safe.  You can reach me if you so wish at [email protected]
