Cloudy morning waking up here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. A touch cool but nice. I was hoping to get into some painting done, now I have my back porch all scraped and ready. But it is looking like we might get some rain later on this afternoon and into tomorrow. So …. I guess I will put it on hold till some better weather arrives. Our vegetable garden is liking the rain, which is a good thing, I suppose. With that I am off for my morning cup of tea and will see what the day has in store.

We could see a few showers late in the day tomorrow. On a good note the sun is shinning. Today I will continue on with some painting around the outside of the house. Seasons are changing. More leaves on the trees every day are dropping and turning colour. By the looks of things we might be in for an early winter. But you never know what Mother Natures has up her sleave. Today I will do some scraping around the windows in the back porch getting it ready for some fresh paint. Then in the afternoon I might just do some front porch sittin’ with my lovely wife. Rough life huh? With that I am off for a cup of Green Tea and will let the day unfold around me.

It’s a really nice morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Sun is shinning and temperatures were sitting at 11.9 C | 53.42 F. The long weekend is looking good. On another note we did have a great rain through the night. My garden is smiling. You can water all you want but Mother Nature has her own way of doing things. Yesterday I managed to get my shop cleaned up. It was in dire need after all the things I have been doing through the summer. It will be nice to move around in there now come winter. Today I will work up my vegetable garden a bit and plant some lettuce. What I did have is all but gone now. If I plant it now we will have fresh lettuce in about two to three weeks, which should last till Fall. With that I am off for a cup of coffee and some bacon and eggs. That should get me motivated. Then will see what the day has in store.

Not to bad, of a day waking up here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. At the moment we are all clouds, but we should see some sunshine as the day progresses. Tonight we will have some more rain and maybe a shower or two tomorrow. But for most parts some really nice weather. Temperatures were sitting at 14.8 C | 58.64 F. It will warm up in a bit. On another note my wife and I took a drive to North Bay yesterday for some supplies, and while there we met our son and had lunch with him. It’s always nice to see him. After that we picked up some items and groceries and arrived back home around 5:30 PM. Long day. You can say what you want, but going to North Bay from Port Loring when all said and done, the day is shot. Along the way we noticed the trees are turning colours. In some areas I would say they are 20% Changed already. Nature is ready for a rest this year I am thinking. Maybe it is trying to tell us something, like maybe we had better get prepared? With that I am off for my breakfast and a cup of coffee with my lovely wife. I then will see what mischief I can get into, or so the wife says. Have a great day.

We finally got a bit of rain we were in need of here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Not as much as I would have liked, but a little is better than nothing. The trees and things were in dire need of a drink. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 17.2 C | 62.96 F. It is possible we might see a shower throughout the day. But for most parts the sun and a few clouds will be upon us. The long weekend is looking mighty fine. Hard to believe we are coming into September already. Today I will do some work in my gardens, maybe plant a bit more lettuce as what I planted in the spring is about had it. But we still have lots of blackberries just starting and zucchini is producing leaps and bounds. Our small store has seen a steady stream of customers this summer, which keeps my wife busy. With that I am off for some breakfast and then I will have a cup of coffee on the front porch with my lovely wife.

We are waking up to some showers here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Temperatures are sitting at 16.7 C | 62.06 F. Things will warm up a wee bit as the day moves forward. But not as warm as it was yesterday. The rain will continue off and on for most of the day and into tonight. We are sure in need of a good rain as things are really dry. Nature looks after its own at her time, not ours. Today I will do some writing, I have some ideas for a couple stories. That should keep me busy for most the day. It sure is nice getting up to days like this. The sun is shinning, a light breeze and really nice temperatures. Makes a fellow feel alive and wanting to do things outside. If nothing else, but sit on the front porch and breath in the fresh air and take in what Nature has to offer. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 16 C | 60.8 F. It will warm up as the day progresses. Tonight and into tomorrow we should see some much-needed rain. It’s so dry the cows in our area are giving powdered milk. Today I think I will clean up my messy shop. Never ceases to amaze me just how messy I can be. Meaning, not putting things back in their place. But that is why I get so much done I am thinking. The good part is that no matter what I am looking for I seem to know exactly where things are. Amazing. With that I am off for a bite to eat and maybe a cup of coffee. Have a good one.

What can I say? Other than another great looking day. Temperatures did get a wee bit cooler last night. But it is a sign of what lies ahead. Waking up they were sitting at 8.9 C | 48.02 F. Today I will do some front porch sitting with my lovely wife for a bit, then maybe I will see about washing the car. If the urge keeps on going, I might even put a coat of wax on the old feller. My wife named our car, Chase. Actually years ago most farmers named their implements, tractors and of course their horses. Just a natural thing to do. Today they kind of frown at you. Well another really nice day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shinning and temperatures waking up were sitting at 11.4 C | 52.52 F. Pretty nice for this time of year. The winds are light coming in from the North West. Yesterday my wife and I did manage to get the lawn cut, install a new chimney top, and clean up the inside pipes and chimney. So we should be good to go when the cold temperatures ease their way into our area. Not that I am looking forward to the colder weather, seems every year it takes a toll on this old body of mine. What can I say? It’s a beauty of a day here in Port Loring. Sun is shinning with some cooler temperatures. At the time of this post it was sitting at 11C/51F. It will warm up a few degrees but not as warm as yesterday. I think this is perfect weather. We didn’t get the rain they expected yesterday or through the night. I was hoping we would have as things sure need a good watering. Today I will do a bit of mowing where it needs it then, maybe clean my chimney and eve-troughs for winter. The summer is almost over. Man time sure flies. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will see what mischief I can get into.

It’s kind of foggy here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada this morning. It cooled down overnight which I like. Later it will warm up and once the sun does it job the sky will clear. Actually, it is looking like it’s going to be a fantastic week. Today I have some story writing to do for my columns, which will probably keep me busy most the day. But once that is done, it is back working on my Flutes. I was hoping to get them finished before the snow flies. I also have to clean up my vegetable garden a touch and plant some more lettuce. One thing my wife and I enjoy is fresh lettuce for the table all summer long. We have been eating some broccoli lately. It sure is tasty. Deep greenish blue ting, nothing like the store bought stuff. Loaded with enzymes. What could be better. I would say there isn’t any vegetable as healthy to eat as broccoli. With that bit of info, I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and will let the day unfold around me.

What can I say? Other than it is another beautiful day here in Port Loring Ontario Canada. There is no reason not to do your vacationing here. We have some great Resorts, and Camps to stay in and the fishing is fantastic. Hardly any bugs to annoy you, so hey, what could be better. I don’t think there is any place in Ontario as nice as Port Loring, when it comes to being surrounded by Nature. Temperatures today will stay in the low 70sF/ 21 C. What more can a person ask for? Today I am going to be working in the woodworking shop once again. Yesterday I managed to finish fixing my roof on my Lean-to that covers my firewood. Glad that is done up. Bothers me when things aren’t as they are supposed to be. With that I am off for some bacon and eggs this morning, and then I will enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch with my lovely wife and take in what Nature has to offer. One thing about our property, it is beautifully laid out surrounded by huge pines. My wife says there isn’t a window you can look out that doesn’t have a picture perfect scene. I agree. Another really nice day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Nothing is nicer than to wake up to pleasant sunny days. Humidity is low and not too much wind. Can’t get much better than that. Cottage country is at its best right now. If you are thinking of taking a summer vacation this is the time to do it. I should say for those that lives in the big cities. For us, it is a daily event. Come winter though it is a different story. LOL Today I am going to finish working on my lean-too that I store my wood in. Fixing the roof is not an easy chore as I am finding out. But I am half-way finished. My vegetable garden is in full swing now with fresh vegetables for the table daily. I will pick a couple of my tomatoes today for lunch and supper. That I am looking forward to. Nothing nicer than tomato sandwiches. Well other than Bologna sandwiches. I am kind of partial to them. On another note I am thinking I will pick one of my first tomatoes today and have it for lunch. A few more are almost ready as well. So taking today’s date in comparison to last year for picking tomatoes, we are exactly two weeks later. On the good side of things that means we will be eating them for a longer time in the fall. Which, is fine with me. Today I have some work to do on my lean-to where I put in my firewood. It needs a bit of attending. Like anything else time takes its toll on things and a few repairs are needed. Same goes for our bodies. Then when that is finished up I might get back to my Flute making for a bit, then maybe take in some front porch sittin’. The summer is going by fast, and I am thinking we should be taking a bit more advantage of the nice weather.
