Happenings In & Around Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:  Well starting off things were a bit wet.  Had a good rain  in the early morning hours.  Temperatures were and still are quite warm, sitting at 18.7 C | 65.66 F.

Forecast For Today: Stormy with cloudy conditions most the day.  Things will start to cool down quite rapidly later on tonight and into tomorrow.

Bug Report:  Blackflies are out in full force in most areas now.  In some areas it isn’t to bad.  Mosquitoes aren’t bothering many folks yet but they will enter into the picture shortly.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and wet throughout.  Travelling will be good today.

Fishing Information:  This morning the old weather stick is saying the best times to be out there will be from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM.  I give it a 3 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few.  Winds this morning are coming in from the South South West.  At the moment they are calm.

Around Town:  Few new vehicals going up and down our highway over the weekend.  Being that the holiday weekend is in the middle of the month slows things down some.  Next weekend will be more presentable with folks waiting for the nicer weather.  Myself I believe the long weekend should be held on the 24th of May and not before.  Especially in our area.  At any rate, tea time here. Orange Pekoe  is on the menu for this Monday morning.  Enjoy your day.  You can reach George Walters at [email protected]

Myself, I will be piling some firewood for next winter.   Then will get into getting my veggetable gardens done up for the year.  Will pick up some plants and things next weekend.  I sure enjoy the outdoors, nothing can be more pleasing than to take in what Mother Nature has to offer.  She is a true being to be studied and enjoyed.  With that enjoy your day, soak up some of that sunshine, it is what the body needs to maintain a good healthy state.  You can reach George Walters at [email protected]

Happenings In And Around Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning:   Cloudy morning here in Port Loring. Waking up temperatures were sitting at 10.8 C | 51.44 F. Will rise in a bit.

Forecast For Today: Showery early, improving as the day moves forward.  Tomorrow we will have lots of sunshine, which will make for a pleasant day.

Bug Report:  Blackflies are around and more so in certain areas.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and wet throughout.  Few deer making an appreance now an then.  Care should be taken if travelling.  Other than that should be a great weekend for moving around.

Fishing Report:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 7:00 AM – 10:30 AM.  Then again from 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM. I give it a two fish rating out of 5 this morning and 3 fish rating out of 5 for catching a few this afternoon.  Winds this morning are calm coming in from the South West.

Around Town:  Not to much happening in and around our district. My wife and I did go to North Bay yesterday.  Had to pick up a few supplies and things.  Great to get away now and then.  All stores were doing a brisk buisness with folks lining up at the checkouts.  NIce to see so many folks spending money as when money changes hands everyone wins.   Gas prices I see has risen back up to $1.16 a liter.   Amazing how they justify it in there minds these powers that be.  There is no reason for it being so high other than making money.   Trouble is here in Canada most sit back and say… “nothing I can do about it.”  In other countries they rebel demanding change.  I am thinking it will change here too in time.  The new gerneration so to speek can’t be fooled and are even now standing up for their rights.  Again..this is great to see.  So enough ranting here this morning.  Heading off for my cup of tea and will see what the day has in store for my wife and I.  Enjoy your day my friends.  You can reach George Walters at [email protected]

Happenings In And Around Port Loring Ontario

Good Morning: Waking up to clouds this morning here in Port Loring.  Temperatures were sitting at 8.9 C | 48.02 F.  Will warm up as the day moves forward.

Forecast For Today: Mostly cloudy with a few sunny breaks here and there.  We could have a light shower later on this afternoon and into tonight.  Tomorrow we could see highs of 20 C / 70 F and might even get a touch warmer than that on Sunday.  Showers though will acompany the warm temperatures in certain areas.

Bug Report;  Blackflies are making an appreance in certain areas.  Spotty at the moment.  The warmer weather will bring them on in full force for the weekend.

Highway Report:  Highway 522 is bare and dry at the moment.  Care should be taken if out and about with the deer crossing the roads.  Also one should keep an eye open for turtles, I notice a few slowly making their way across the highway, which in turn can be quite dangerous for them.  If you see something black the size of a small basebal cap, chances are it is a turtle. Hopfully you see them in time to slow down and go around them.

Around Town:  Other than a few cars and trucks moving up and down the highway things are quite quiet.  Things will pick up tomorrow, being the long weekend.  Tea time here, English Breakfast is on the menu.   Have a great day and stay safe.  You can reach George Walters at [email protected]
