Around Town:  Very quiet these days with the holidays upon us.

So tomorrow is the start of a New Year.  2015.  Man does time fly.  Seems the older one gets the faster times goes.  Remembering back to my younger days there wasn’t a day that went by that I didn’t wish I was older.  Today though same thing in theory, just I wished time would slow down some.  But in reality time waits for no one or anything, it has a mind of its own and seems to smile in its agenda towards life here on earth.  On another note we are into burning firewood these days with these cold temperatures.  Sure feels good though and if truth be known there isn’t any heat like wood heat.  Seems that when coming in from the outdoors on a cold winters day like today, your instantly warm.  My wife and I love it.  Also glad we had this new wood furnace installed as it fantastic.  Cut our wood use in half I would say.  Also renovating our home with all new insulation throughout the walls has helped immensely too.  Nice to be able to look out at the cold knowing that you are going to be toasty and warm for the remainder of the winter.  So my friends, once again Happy New Years to you all and stay safe.  No drinking and driving neither we don’t need anyone loosing their licences or hurting themselves or someone else.   You can reach me George Walters if you so wish at [email protected]

Around Town:  Well Christmas is closing in on us quite rapidity.  Young ones are getting more excited with the hopes of Santa paying them a visit.  My Grandson gets to chattin’ about the presents about every five minutes.  Great to see them so excited as it takes me back to when I was young.  Didn’t have the gifts that they do today but we still had a great time. For most parts back when it was the goodies that the lady of the house made up,  like puddings of usually four kinds.  Pies, along with cookies of all shapes and sizes.  In the evening the turkey would be set on the table with all the extras and we were in for one great tasting meal.  Presents if any would be all home made for most parts, but every once in awhile a store bought item came into being.  When that happened I was in awe for the whole day.  After supper the guitar would be brought out and Reg the man of the house would pull up his rocker by the fireplace and songs would be song well into the night.  Great times for sure and still missed into today.  So my friends enjoy your day.  Tea time  here with my favourite cup and then will see what the day bestows upon me.  You can reach me George Walters if you so wish at [email protected]

On another note my son Karl bought a new 2014 Ford Edge last week from Mark Lyon’s at Stock Fish Ford.  Picks it up today.  Have to say it is sure one nice Christmas present to himself.  He deserves it as he is a really hard working fellow.  Reason I mentioned it, is that his old car is up for sale a 2002 Cavalier, only got around 80 some thousand Kilometres on it. It does need a muffler and the brakes should be looked at.  Body is good and got one year old snow tires on it all way round.  Runs good and he has kept the oil changed in it since he owned it.  If anyone is interested in it you can get in touch with me at [email protected]

Once he has figured out a price I will add it here on the Blog.  For now though, why not make an offer if your interested in it.  Never know.    Enjoy your day my friends.  George Walters

Information:  Well it is quiet around town here in out small town.  Yesterday wife and I went to North Bay and the stores were just  a buzzing let me tell you. Checkout counters were lined up with folks purchasing items of choice too no end.  I also noticed a lot of big ticket items were being bought like large screen televisions and things.   Also a lot of Cell Phones were being purchased with all kinds of electronics.  It is electronics world out there these days that’s for sure.  Some say they hate it others live with it.  I for one think it is great, even being an old feller sort of set in his ways.  I say we are all put here on this earth for a reason and for most parts learning is what it is all about. We learn from the day we are born.  Thing is though I believe our minds are not being left alone to do what comes naturally.  From the day we are born we are told what to wear, what to eat, where to live, how to live, you name it.  Is this wrong? For myself I believe it is, but it seems this  is the way our world is today.   In saying all this though I have found that now a days the younger folks are rebelling and choosing their own ways  more and more.  I think this is great.  One should choose their own roads and never be dictated to what they should be doing.  So there you go I ranted here enough, now going for a cup of tea and see where the day takes me.  Let it happen my friends and enjoy your day.  You can reach me George Walters if you so wish at,  [email protected]
