Morning Chat July 22/21

Good Morning! It is looking like another great day for us here in Port Loring. The sun is trying to get through the haze, which it will do as the morning moves forward. The temperature has been nice also for the past couple days, with it sitting this morning at 12.7 C | 54.86 F. Can’t beat that, at this time of year. Also, the mosquitoes, horse flies and deer flies aren’t all that bad at the moment, which makes it real nice for doing some outside work and fishing. I haven’t been out fishing this year, actually I haven’t been out for two years with this virus among us. I miss going out with my fishing buddy Berry. But I am thinking now my wife and I have had both of our shots as has Berry we might get out there in the coming weeks. I will see how it goes. I still have to get my boat cleaned up and see if it runs. I will get to that in a few days, now that we have finished up building our wrap around deck on our cottage. At the moment, I am in the process of painting the outside of it. I did manage to get 2/3s of it done yesterday. Today though is mowing day, so that will take me most of the day, as my lovely wife’s back isn’t the greatest yet, and I don’t want her to make things worse by mowing. So I will see what I can do on my own. On the mowing end of things, I did buy a new cordless weed eater last week as my old gas one was giving me a lot of problems. It is fixed now thanks to Mike at the garage here in town. Actually, I have to pick it up this morning. I will do that in a bit. I am hoping this new battery one will work out good, as I am getting tired of these gas engines. I have to admit, they have come a long way these days. I will let you know how it works after I give it a work-out today. Highway 522 is very, very busy these days. Non-stop cars, trucks, and campers moving East and West all day long. But it is the middle of summer and folks have been coped up a long time. You could say the call of the wild has gotten to them. LOL. With that, I guess I will have my breakfast and then get to work. It’s a pleasure working outside in this nice weather. Take care and stay safe. GW
