You Gotta See The Fluture Flutes

It has been awhile since my last post. So many things taking place these days that I just haven’t had time to do much writing or posting here on the Blog. Finally, we finished up our new flutes. They are called  Fluture Flutes, reason being it is a Flute of the future.  For over 30 years I have been making Flutes wanting to perfect a scale that will not just play one but will play dozens.  A mistake took me to what I was looking for.  From there I perfected it over and over till the Flutes took on a sound like no other.  I then stream lined them so to speak, installing a Totem on the top that sets things right.  Each Flute is made from exotic woods all inlaid so not one is the same. To appreciate their true beauty one has to come and see.  I added a picture of our collection, one of the largest in Canada.  Drop by, you will never see or hear Flutes of this calibre anywhere. They almost play themselves!!

More Than Your Average Store (Port Loring Ontario)

Well it’s been quite awhile since my last post.   It has been a really busy winter here at our home.  So busy I haven’t had time to be here on the Blog.  What has kept me so busy is my Flutes.
For the past 40 some years I been making Native American Flutes.  For Twenty some years I been working on a Flute that can play music like no others.
Last Fall I fell upon a sound that struck my interest and I been working on it steadily. It came to me you might say as an accident and with a lot of work in the tuning department, length, shape and sound chamber changes, I finally perfected a sound that takes on its own personality.
With this new flute a person can perform nearly any style of music that they choose.  The design has also been changed to sleek slender in looks which takes a person into a realm of mystery.  Could say, to a place where no one has been before.  So in doing so my wife and I came up with a name for our Flutes.   It is called Fluture flute In reality it is just what is says, a flute of the Future.
All items in our store has been created by my wife and I made right here on the premises.  A must to see no matter what way you look at it.  This year I will have a display of over 100 Flutes and almost all will be tuned in the new scale.
Along with them my wife’s paintings will be on display for those that have a heart for unique original paintings.  Also her cards and other creations will be in abundance.

The best advice I could put out there would be:   If you love something and can afford it, buy it.   It will be with you for a life time and then after.   If you feel it talks to you when gazing upon it, then, well it’s for you.

In  Closing, if your in Port Loring this year Ruth & I would love to see you.  Our store is small in size but huge in quality.

Look for our new sign out front.

A Christmas Story, Just For You!!

The True Meaning Of Christmas

Written By: George Walters

“Laura, Christmas to me just doesn’t have that special feeling any more. It seems that the feelings I am looking for can’t be found. I have tried and tried but for some reason I just can’t find that special feeling that I am lookin for.”

“You know George, maybe, you are searching for the true meaning of Christmas. I’ll make you a deal, there is five days left till Christmas, I want you to go on a hunt, search for the true meaning of Christmas and bring it back to me. If for some reason you can’t find it, well I will then tell you, as I have found it in my travels through life. Hows that for a deal? But you have to really search, you have to look hard and I will let you in on one bit of advice, the true meaning of Christmas is where you least expect it, that’s where it will be hiding. Find it George and bring it back to me, that will be my gift on Christmas morning.”

Well the next morning I headed off to school as usual but with the thought of finding the meaning of Christmas on top of the list. Through out the day I watched and listened to the other kids of what they thought Christmas was all about.

“Presents said James, lots of presents.”

“Santa Clause said Mary, he is the true meaning of Christmas.”

“Food said Sandra, lots of good food, like cake, candy and a big goose with all the trimmings at the table when supper time arrives.”

“Friends said, a new girl in the second grade, lots of friends, when I moved here I never had any one to talk to, yep friends that’s it.”

“How about a Christmas tree said Patricia, can’t forget that, the Christmas Tree has to be the true meaning of Christmas written all over it, it just has to be.”

Well the days wore on and I kept asking folks and listening but for some reason I just couldn’t find that special feeling that I was looking for. I knew Laura said she would tell me if I couldn’t find it but she asked me to bring it back to her as her gift. I just couldn’t let her down, I just couldn’t.

I know, old Grey Wolf, my very best friend, he would know, he knows everything, I will go and visit him.

I found Grey Wolf sitting oh his porch with a big thick blanket wrapped around his shoulders.

“Why aren’t you in the house where it’s warm?” I asked.

“Well, I knew you were coming and thought I would sit here and wait for you, that is what friendship is all about isn’t it?”

“I suppose it is.”

“Something is bothering you, I can see it in your eyes, what has got such a young boy so upset that he comes to see his friend on a stormy day like this?”

“Christmas, Grey Wolf, I made a deal with Laura that I would bring back the true meaning of Christmas and that would be her gift”

“That is some gift young one, that is surely some gift.”

“Do you know what the true meaning of Christmas is, do you?”

“Yes I know what it is, it hides in a place that no one looks.”

“Will you tell me, please tell me so I can take it back to Laura, please.”

“I can’t do that old friend, that is something that you will have to do all on your own. I will say this though, find a warm-quiet place and listen and watch, I think you will then find what you are looking for.”

I didn’t know what to do it was Christmas Eve and time was running out. Back at home I headed on over to the barn to do my chores. I took down some hay, fed the cows, chickens and the Clyde’s and then put down some fresh straw so they would all be warm on this bitter cold night.

I then took a pail of Oats from the oat bin for my horse Jennie and sat down on some straw in her pen. It was warm sitting there.

“Jennie I asked, “Do you know the true meaning of Christmas?” Knowing fully well she couldn’t answer me. With them few words a feeling came over me, I looked up and watched all the young animals as their mothers drew them closer to her body so that they would be warm. I then looked up at Jennie, her big brown eyes just seemed to melt me and I swore I seen a tear run down her cheek. Her head dropped onto my shoulder and at that moment it came to me, I know what the true meaning of Christmas is. I found it, it was hiding right here under my nose all the time.

With that I gave Jennie a hug, said goodnight to all the critters and ran as fast as I could to the old farm house though the deep snow. Laura was by the wood stove baking a pie.

“Laura! I know what it is.”

“You know what George? What are you talking about?”

“I know what the true meaning of Christmas is.”

“You do and what would that be?”

“Love Laura, love that’s the true meaning of Christmas and that’s my gift to you.”

Laura looked down at me with tears in her eyes, “Your right she said and what a gift it is. Now how a piece of this pie that I just made and a cup of hot chocolate to wash it all down.” “Sounds good to me, I said.

And to all my readers, I would like to say this. May all your Christmas’s be filled with love and kindness and Merry Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Years.  Be safe.

I have a list of folks I know, all written in a book

And every year when Christmas comes, I go and take a look.

And that is when I realize, that these names are a part.

Not of a book they’re written in, but of my very heart.

For each name stands for someone, who has crossed my path sometime,

And in that meeting they’ve become, the Rhythm in each Rhyme.

And while it sounds fantastic, for me to make this claim,

I really feel that I’m composed, of each remembered name.

And while you may not be aware, of any special link,

Just meeting you has changed my life, a lot more than you think.

For once you’ve met somebody, the years cannot erase,

The memory of a pleasant word, or of a friendly face.

So never think my Christmas cards, are just a mere routine,

Of names upon a Christmas list, forgotten in between.

For when I send a Christmas card, that is addressed to you,

It’s because you are on the list, of folks whom I’m indebted to.

For I am but the total, of many folks I’ve met,

And you happened to be one of those, I prefer not to forget.

And whether I have known you, for many years or few,

In some way you have had a part, in shaping things I do.

And every year when Christmas comes, I realize anew,

The best Gift Life can offer, is meeting folks like you.

And may the spirit of Christmas, that forever endures,

Leave its richest blessings in the hearts, of you and yours.

Items To Chat About

Well been quite a year for my wife and I here in Port Loring.  Customers & friends have been steadily stopping by our small store all summer.  Great to see them and have a bit of a chat.  I have to say this past year has been the busiest since we moved here 13 years ago.  Amazing how time flies.  And to add to that, all have been great years.  Made some good friends over the years too.  This winter we decided to not go to Florida as I have a lot of orders for my Flutes which I have been making for over 30 years.  It is a challenge filling my orders, as each Flute takes a great amount of time to make.  For years I have strive to better my Flutes, along with coming up with my own scale of music that can be played on them.  For most parts Native American Flutes play a peaceful array of sounds.  That is fine but I wanted something different, something more, something better.  I have always said a person can ride along on the shoulders of others, but if they want to be known for years to come they have to climb down and take back the reigns.  Which I have done.  As of this year I have invented a new Flute that is all together different than the old Native American Flute.  We have come up with a name which is called FlutureFlute. It in all essence is a Flute of the Future, there is none like it anywhere.  It has the same features, sort of, as the old ones, but the looks and cosmetics along with the Pentatonic Scale has changed.  It sings like no other Flute but yet one can still play the old scales if needed.  As I say it took me years to come up with a scale of music that this flute can play.  Then to design the flute so that scale can be played and sound fantastic took some doing.  But in the end, all paid off and I am sure in the coming days, months and years it will be one great Flutureflute.

Contact Information

Over the years I have had numerous emails, every year increasing daily. I have been doing my darnedest to reply to each and every one of you, but lately I just can’t keep up. I feel bad about it, but there isn’t anything I can do, as to do so I would have to be on the computer for at least 4 hours a day.

So..for those that I haven’t replied back too, I apologize. I eventually will get to you, but might take some time. Thanks George Walters.

Good Morning: Well it’s been quite awhile since my last post. Reason being it has been a really busy summer. From taking down trees, working in the gardens, painting, firewood piling for winter, to talking to customers coming into our small store. Hard to do that with some things as they became like a friend. But sooner or later these things has to be done. With that enjoy your day. Make it a good day, only you can do that.

From taking down trees, piling firewood to building and repairing things along with taking care of customers coming into our small store. Still, lots to do but when all said and done will make a great improvement to our place of enjoyment. Got my firewood in for winter and will get to piling next years shortly. On another note the gardens have done well in-spite of the dry weather we been having. Tomatoes are about ready to be done up along with cucumbers. Wife has been steadily preserving and drying things for winter. Herbs and spices are also all done up which will keep us fit.     Great feeling knowing that one will be warm and well-fed in the cold winter days which isn’t to far off.  With that enjoy your day.

Sure lots of work has to be done each day, but its our day, to do with in what ever way we choose.  With that enjoy the day and look forward to tomorrow. The future is yours to make.
