Not to much to report on this fine Saturday Morning.   I will say this, with all the rain, my vegetable gardens are doing great.  Been eating salads every day.  You know….nothing is more healthier than to get outside, soak up a bit of sunshine each day and breath in some of that fresh northern air.  For most parts folks take it for granted, thinking their busy work schedule is what is important. In reality that isn’t true.  What is important, is what I just told ya and being happy.  Purpose of life my friends.  Have a great day!!

A Bit Of Humor For Wednesday, June 06 2012

I liked this one.

An old Italian lived alone in New Jersey . He wanted to plant his annual tomato
garden, but it was very difficult
work, as the ground was hard.

His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a
letter to his son and described his predicament:

Dear Vincent,
I am feeling pretty sad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my tomato garden this year.
I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would
be over.
I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the old days.
Love,
    Papa

A few days later he received a letter from his son.

   Dear Papa,
Don’t dig up that garden. That’s where the bodies are buried.
    Love, Vinnie

At 4 a.m. the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left. That same day the old man received another letter from his son.

  Dear Papa,
Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That’s the best I could do
under the circumstances.
Love you,
    Vinnie

News For Port Loring & District

Not much to report this morning.  Quiet around town, even the wind is calm. Nice morning to sit out soak up a bit of sunshine and enjoy a tea or two.  Yesterday I worked up my garden some for the first time. Weeds were starting to show themselves.  I sure enjoy working up the soil, let me tell ya.  Good time to get the old shirt off too, as you get the sun on all sides.   Bug report, have to say I didn’t see one black fly yesterday or mosquito, even the horse flies were taking the day off.  OK by me.  So far bug wise it hasn’t been a bad year and we can thank the warm weather so early for that.  Have a great day my friends.

Great Poem Called Dandelions

Being a writer now for a good number of years I have always kept my eyes open for poems.  I am not a poet by no means, not like my Sister Barb out west is, as now there is a gal that can whip up some great words for all ages.  Takes a special talent to do these things and there is no doubt in my mind, that she is talented beyond her years, let me tell ya. I guess that is what attracts me to different poems, as every time I read one, or should say a good one, I think of her.  I would also like to say, I only enjoy poems that rhyme. All others doesn’t give me that special feelings that they concur.   Yesterday I got an E-Mail from one of my readers, he is 85 years young and doing great.  Like to hear them stories;  Anyways, as a young one he read this poem and it has stuck with him now for all these years.  I liked it so much I thought I would share it with you.  Also since I am such a lover of Dandelions and using them to treat my illness, I feel it is warranted a special spot, right here on the Blog.  It’s Called;

Dandelions

There surely is a gold mine, somewhere down beneath the grass,
Where the dandelions are popping up, most every place you pass,
And if you want to gather some, you better not delay, because the gold
will turn to silver soon, and all will blow away.

Well black flies will be back out today, now the sun is shinning; along with a few mosquito’s I suspect.  But that’s the time of year and yep, we live in the north, so…..to be expected.  Right?  I put the charger on the battery last night for my trolling motor I got for Christmas and looking forward to getting out there and doing some fishing.  Have to say the motor i got pushes that Giesler Boat of mine along really nice.  I figure I can get about six hours of steady running out of one battery charge.  Can’t beat that.  Great little motor for sure.  Also no fumes and quiet. After all, isn’t that what one is after, other than fish while out in nature.  On another note; no reason for anyone not to get some sunshine on the old skin today and if you are in need of becoming healthy, then get out side.  Mother Nature is just waiting to come to your aid.  Have a great day my friends.

Mammograms ???

You know for the life of me I can’t see why women continue to go for these Mammograms.   It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see for oneself, that these are in my eyes, quite dangerous and can in reality cause cancer and spread it.  Think about this./  You go in and have your breasts flattened down in a vise like machine.   Now here is the thing., If there does happen to be a tumour inside, what do you think is going to happen to it. Well I would think it’s going to be broke open and what ever is inside, is going to be spread all through your breasts.  Then to top it off you are flooded with radiation from the ex ray machine.   Again think about this. Radiation can cause cancer.  So why does so many women keep on going back year after year for these things?  Simple really, as the powers that be, have told you it is safe. The benefits outweigh the negatives.  In reality it should be the other way around I am thinking.  So there is my opinion on the subject.  As I always say my opinion only, what you do is your own business.

Do You Believe In ????

There was a question sent to me that asked, whether I spend much time dwelling on things that might exist or might not exist, like the here after.  Well in sincerity I don’t spend much time thinking about whether there is or there isn’t.  I don’t consider that a relevant question. It’s unanswerable and irrelevant to my life, so I put it in the category of things I can’t worry about.”  To each their own I always say.  You asked, I just answered your question with a bit of information taken from years ago.  My Opinion Only.

Cross Border Shoppers Smiling Here In Canada

Well good news for those that choose to do some of their shopping in the good old USA.  Canadian cross-border shoppers will be allowed to bring back more duty-free goods from their trip to the States.
The new limit has now officially come into effect, meaning for a 24-hour trip you can now spend $200 duty free – or four times the old limit.
Meanwhile, for a 48-hour stay in the U.S.A, returning Canadians will now be allowed to bring back a significant $800 of duty-free goods. Hmm……might pick up a new fishing reel next trip round.

Diabetes Drug Actos Again Linked to Bladder Cancer

Every once in awhile a news report comes out in the paper that seems to just jump out at me. This one here click link below to view, sure takes the icing off the cake, or so to speak.  I know most folks would say on the cake, but that is others, not me.  First off they say that this drug that folks are  taking to help Diabetes, can and for most parts will increase your risk of cancer.  Think about that for a minute, one drug…. to help folks, along with what has the possibilities of making one deathly sick, both…. all wrapped up into, one nice little pill.  The thing that really is amazing, is that folks still take these drugs and I say these drugs, as there is millions of them out there that do the same thing.  Wake up folks, do the research, then hopefully you will make the right decision. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out which road you should choose.  The best road that is out there, through my eyes is Natural.  Yep good old Mother Nature.  Don’t your remember!!!!! that;  “Mothers Know Best”.  Here is the link.  My Opinion Only.

Can Mother Earth Fight Off Most All Health Related Problems??

You know for years I have said that these so called antibacterial agents are causing more harm than good.  For most parts what they do, is kill pretty well all bacterial good and bad. Think about this. Bacteria on ones hands, say good bacterial will not allow bad bacteria to survive in its territory.  So if you have good bacterial on your skin and say you were out shopping and came upon a bad strain, it wouldn’t harm you.  So thinking on this I came up with a plan. If you have a garden with good soil and I mean, good soil, why not just swish your hands around in good old Mother Earth. Doing that will bring forth good bacteria, which if done on a regular basis will allow it colonize on your skin, which in turn, will then help you fight off any bad bacteria that might come your way throughout the day, months or maybe even years to come.  I have been doing some experimenting with good healthy soil now, for over ten years and have found, it in itself has amazing healing capabilities when applied to the skin and wouldn’t hesitate to use it for all kinds of skin related problems, or for that matter what lies underneath the skin.  Remember this folks, we all come from the earth, we need it to survive as we need the sun.  So why not use what has been given to us free of charge.  In getting close to Nature one would soon find that most of all these so called medicines and drugs of today are not, really needed at all.  Have a great day and remember that, this is My Opinion Only.
