Officials are looking into claims that Chinese-made drywall installed in some Florida homes is emitting smelly, corrosive gases and ruining household systems such as air conditioners, the Consumer Product Safety Commission says.

The Florida Health Department, which is investigating whether the drywall poses any health risks, said it has received more than 140 homeowner complaints. And class-action lawsuits allege defective drywall has caused problems in at least three states — Florida, Louisiana and Alabama — while some attorneys involved claim such drywall may have been used in tens of thousands of U.S. homes.
Homeowners’ lawsuits contend the drywall has caused them to suffer health problems such as headaches and sore throats and face huge repair expenses.
The drywall is alleged to have high levels of sulfur and, according to homeowners’ complaints, the sulfur-based gases smell of rotten eggs and corrode piping and wiring, causing electronics and appliances to fail.
“It’s economically devastating, and it’s emotionally devastating,” said Florida attorney Ervin A. Gonzalez, who filed one of the lawsuits. It would cost a third of an affected home’s value to fix the dwelling, Gonzalez said.

In my eyes this will do nothing to help that country. What they should be doing is looking after our own country. We have to learn that it’s a selfish world. We have to look after ourselves first then we can help others. We got enough going on here in this country without looking after other countries. This image of peace keepers us Canadians is suppose to have should have never been started in the first place. Peace keepers, nonsense, should be money giveres and the only reason we hand out money is to make money, but not for the tax payers. My Opinion Only, as usual.

Slowly Killing Ourselves
If you talk to people about health, medications, toxic chemicals and food, you’ll quickly come to realize that most people have very little knowledge of reality in these areas. And yet, ignorance is often bliss because these people can just wolf down a cheeseburger, get vaccine shots, drink fluoridated water and take all sorts of toxic chemical medications without even a hint of concern (that is, until a few years later when all the toxic build-up starts to kill them).
So what to do? Simple. Take back your life as you control what you put in it. Your going to have to work hard though as most things out there today isn’t good for you. In other words you are going to have to become more self efficient. Just one more reason to get out there and plant your own garden. At the very least buy organic, but in saying that make sure it is what it says it is before you buy. My Opinion Only

You know I have been trying to come up with a few words that tells exactly how I have been feeling about this recession. This article says it, all as it is right on the money. Thing is we folks here in Canada will have to do something to stop these guys. If we continue to let the big banks take over we will loose everything. For example, folks minds have been swayed so much with their thinking when it comes to this Global Warming thing. This Global Warming all boils down to money. In time you will see thousands of carbon taxes, well look now it’s costing us millions and more. Who do you think is behind all this. Powers That Be that’s who. Eventually you won’t be able to go out of your house without paying something. I also think this recession was brought on by the big banks and folks like them. If you look at what they tell us every day in the media all is negative. They want you to think we are down and out and the future looks gloomy. Get more self efficient and stand up for what you believe in. I should also say that we might be having some melt down in the north. But it isn’t caused by us humans. What the big guys are doing is making folks think we are the problem and once that is done they will make a fortune and that is exactly what they are doing. They want folks to become defensless in all avenues that’s their goal. They want you to be under their thumb at all times and they are almost there now. How do I Keep Up Morale In a Down Market and Hard Times?
Simple. You are in charge of your life and your feelings. If you get hurt you are the one that has allowed it to happen to you. Way to fix it. Just stop taking things so serious. You know these car companies keep telling us they need all this money to stay alive. There is a simple way of fixing this problem without any money from us hard working tax payers. Not sure if you heard me right. I said tax payers as we the people are the goverment and it’s our money that is being handed out to these folks. Should never have happened. If they want to stay afloat the way to do it is each person that works for them should take about a five dollar an hour pay cut. Management a bit more. Will they do this? Now here is an article that says a lot. Trouble is I don’t really think folks understand what it really says as more folks are signing up for this Group than ever before. I guess they just don’t care about keeping things in their lives private. I can understand why maybe some of the real young folks get hooked, as they don’t really know what the consequences are by joining a group like this. Thing is every spring the old blood starts to thin out with the warm weather. Of course it takes time for the old body to adjust. Also the light is brighter so another reason for a headache to maybe hit a fellow or gal. So now they come along, the health departments and start telling folks to stay out of the sun. I gotta tell ya though if you believe that, well I won’t say it. Just get out there and enjoy the summer weather that old Mother Nature throws at you and have fun. China Crazy Talk In My Eyes

Obama Says Reconciliation With Taliban
This sounds nice in writing but I can pretty well tell ya it will never happen. Not over there in that country. My opinion only.
President Barack Obama is holding out hope that U.S. forces in Afghanistan can peel away elements of the Taliban and possibly move them toward reconciliation. We or anyone else shouldn’t be over there anyways. Hundreds of good men and women from Canada and USA gone forever.
Stolen Chicken
Take notice of the name on the bags they were put in to sell to folks. Kind of makes you think Huh
Police are warning consumers to check their chicken after a shipment of the meat was stolen, repackaged and sold to unsuspecting customers.
A tractor-trailer with a large quantity of pre-packaged boneless, skinless chicken breasts was stolen near Paris, Ont. on Wednesday. The next day, police found the stolen chicken in an industrial building near Kipling Ave. and Rexdale Boulevard.
They discovered the meat had been opened and re-packed for sale in large plastic bags.
Although police didn’t specify where the chicken was found, they said the building wasn’t designed for meat processing.
Police don’t know whether the chicken was properly refrigerated or sanitarily packaged, meaning the meat could be unsafe to eat.
The chicken was sold with a label reading “Boneless Chicken Breast Meat” and “Wing Zhing Trading Ltd.”
Police are asking anyone who bought it to throw it away and contact them at 416-808-2373.

General Motors is struggling to survive, Chrysler has eliminated a shift in Windsor, yet the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) executive says that it can’t make wage concessions?
Some CAW members get 10 weeks paid vacation, family law legal fees, fully funded pensions and a good wage. Yet these people expect other Canadians to underwrite the “largest unsecured loan in Canadian history.” The federal government is not in the business of saving businesses, nor is the Canadian taxpayer.
The car industry –as it exists now — in Canada is dead. If automakers and their unions are willing to make the industry viable, they can. But don’t expect other Canadians to keep propping up a failed industry. I say if they don’t want to help themselves why should we. Simple as that. My Opinion Only

A new report released by the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurement reveals that Americans’ exposure to radiation has increased more than 600 percent over the last three decades. Most of that increase has come from patients’ exposure to radiation through medical imaging scans such as CT scans and mammograms.
Most patients have no awareness of the dangers of ionizing radiation due to medical imaging scans. Virtually no patients — and few doctors — realize that one CT scan exposes the body to the equivalent of several hundred X-rays (http://www.naturalnews.com/023582.html), for example. Most women undergoing mammograms have no idea that the radiation emitted by mammography machines actually causes cancer by exposing heart and breast tissue to dangerous ionizing radiation that directly causes DNA damage.

A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine (2007) found that survivors of the 1945 atomic bombs unleashed on Japan during World War II still faced significant increases in lifetime cancer risk. Yes, it’s true: A couple of CT scans can expose your body to as much radiation as standing a few miles from an atomic bomb explosion. This is a simple scientific fact.
Big Banks Cut Lending Rates
You know this statement proves how folks minds have been swayed into thinking that things like this is a good thing. When the banks cut rates it doesn’t help the working man one bit. Also doesn’t help the economy one bit either. Reason being if folks don’t have a job they shouldn’t be borrowing anyways. All that lowering the rates do is make money for the banks, simple as that. The War In Afghanistan
Now here is an article in today’s paper that I agree with, well part of it. I think Harper did the right thing in saying what he did. First off there is no way we can win this war for Afghanistan. If they want a good country to live in they are going to have to get off their buts and do it their selves. We and other countries have helped them to much as it is, and the more we do the less they will do. That is fact. Anyone can see that if they take a minute to look. Some say why it took so long for Harper to see things. That’s a real dumb question, as he wasn’t the one that put the troops there to begin with. Takes time to make things right, so no way can folks get to blaming him. So take a look at the article for what it is worth.
