Good Morning! It’s a nice looking day here in Port Loring, Ontario Canada. The sun is shinning with no clouds to speak of in the sky. However, it is a touch cool with the temperature getting out of bed sitting at -4 C | 24.8 F. But, things will change in a few hours as our temperatures today will climb well above the freezing mark. We should see the temperature reaching around 54F/13C mark. Can’t beat that for this time of year. My wife and I might even get to do some front porch sittin’. Now that would be nice for a change. And on top of that good news it will remain warm for the next week or so. Which will get rid of the remainder of our snow I am sure. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, and we didn’t have any snow overnight. We did have some frost though, which is melting fast with the sunshine. Cold nights warm days is the norm for this time of year, and that is what we are getting. Great for Maple Syrup. On another note, yesterday I finished up fixing my rototiller and mower that wasn’t working, and now they are ready to go. It took a bit of figuring out what was wrong, but as my old Dad used to say that is how we learn. LOL Miss that old feller! After that I cleaned up my shop, getting it ready for some woodworking projects I want to finish and do. Things for our new cottage. Then once it warms up and the ground thaws out, we will get to doing some outside work that we have planned. So lots to do these days. Which I like … as it keeps me busy along with my mind off the not so good things. With that I am off for my morning bowl of cereal with my lovely wife, and will then see what the day has in store. Life is a mystery, every day something new comes along. Some say, No … that isn’t right as their days are all the same. I say … well, if that’s the case, you aren’t paying attention. Good Morning! It’s a cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. It is also a touch cool with the temperature getting out of the sack, sitting at -1.5 C | 29.3 F. We will see some sunshine as the day moves forward along with some warmer temperatures. Every day things will warm up a touch more with lots of sunshine thrown in for good measure, Highway 522 is bare and wet this morning. We did have some light flurries with a dusting of snow this morning. Nothing to speak of, but I sure didn’t like seeing it waking up. LOL Yesterday I worked on an older rototiller I have. I took it in to get fixed a few years ago, they fixed it, but it stopped running after a month. So … I decided to see what I could do myself. I did take a course on small engines years ago which comes in handy from time to time. So after playing around a bit I found it was the magneto. So I changed that with another one I had here on another old mower, and while I had things apart I changed the points in it too. It works great now other than needing me to set up the carb a bit which I will do, this morning. The price folks charge nowadays a person almost has to fix these things themselves. If they can’t, a lot of times it is better to buy new and be done with it, as it costs just as much to fix them as it does to buy new LOL. Anyways my old training of fixing these old engines came in handy yesterday. That’s another problem … as the way I learned and was taught years ago, is almost obsolete today, as all the new engines are made different. Good Morning from Port Loring. Ontario that is. To start things off it is a cloudy day. We could see some sunshine today, but I don’t expect much. But tomorrow is another story, where we will be having sunshine for most of the day. Also, the rest of the week is looking superb, with warmer temperatures and lots of sunshine. What could be better than that? Not much in my eyes. Highway 522 is bare and dry. We had no snow overnight, and I am hoping we have seen the last of it for this year. On another note, I didn’t do too much yesterday, kind of took things easy. Today I will work in the shop on a few things I have on the go. After that I don’t know. The reason for that is … I never know what a day has in store. I plan one thing and then something else comes along, and what I planned on doing never gets done. Actually … I like it that way in one sense, as it makes life interesting. So far this morning I lit the shop stove and got the wood furnace going in the house here. I don’t suspect we will be needing them much more, but I figured the wood heat would take the chill off things, and make my shop nicer to work in. And … I save a bit of oil for later. I have lots of wood this year left over, as with it being so warm we didn’t burn as much. Which is okay, as we will have lots for this coming winter. I did order another 8 cords or so, just to top things up. I always like to have a two-year supply on hand. Why is that? Glad you asked. For one thing, after piled up where it is out of the weather, it is nice and dry when the time comes to use it. Another thing is, with the way the world is going today, having my heat supply put way makes me feel better. All my life I have always had a back-up plan for everything. With that bit of info under your hat … I am off for my bacon and eggs this morning, that my lovely wife is making for me. I don’t have them much, but every so often, I get the urge to indulge so to speak. Take care and stay safe.

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, And a touch cool with the temperature sitting at -7.8 C | 17.96 F. But not to worry, it will warm up as the day progresses, and if we are real lucky we will have a bit of sunshine off and on for most of the day. The long range for temperatures is looking good. Every day for the next couple of weeks, will be well above the freezing point, with a few days edging up to near 60F/15C. Which in turn will get rid of what snow we do have now. I am looking forward to it. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning. Yesterday I worked away here on my computer, finishing up a new podcast, and a story for my columns in Newspapers. Today I will do the same. I might try out a new battery charger I bought, that arrived yesterday, just to make sure it is working properly, and everything I want. If not back she goes. LOL With that I am off for my morning bowl of cereal, and will then see what the day has to offer, other than what I am planning. You just never know. Take care and stay safe. Good Morning! Another cold morning here in Port Loring Ontario. The temperature getting out of bed was sitting at -13.4 C | 7.88 F. It is sunny though which is nice. Today will remain cool all day, but tomorrow things will change for the better. With temperatures reaching up into the 40s F. Or 5 C for those that use the metric system. Not me … I still like the old way of doing things. The metric to me was brought about, by those that wanted to fool the public into believing things that aren’t true. You believe what ever you want. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning and will stay that way all day. Which will make travelling good for those that are in need of a few things. Yesterday I worked here on my computer and today will do much the same. On another note, we are still burning wood in the house here with it being so cold. Tomorrow we will switch back over to oil for a bit once it warms up. I only burn wood when it gets down to about the freezing mark. With that I am off for my morning bowl of oatmeal which keeps the blood pressure in check LOL, and will then see what the day has in store. Take care and stay safe.
