Acid Drugs & What They Do

For over  twenty five years the doctors of today have said I need to be taking acid drugs like Prevacid.   I started taking tagamet years ago then changing as time went by.  Thing is I never got better, only worse.  Then one day last fall I came upon a remedy from an old native friend of mine and decided to try it. Well low and behold I got better and I am now not on any medicine or should say prescription drugs at all.  I did have some withdrawals going off the prevacid but in time that stopped too. I was determined to stay off them and today no more acid, aches and pains, nothing. I know now if I would have stayed on the med I probably might not be here in another few years, as to many things were beginning to happen to me.  Strange how some medicine of today can actually make a fellow or gal worse.  One has to get to know their body, then do the research and correct the problems, for most parts anyways. Today this article is out in the news, take a look.

Prilosec, Nexium, Prevacid, Aciphex. These and a dozen more drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) have quickly become superstars of Big Pharma. As recently reported by US News and World Report, last year people worldwide shelled out some $ 25.6 billion for these drugs that are supposed to alleviate heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Although hailed by most doctors as safe, reports have started cropping up that side effects may include everything from dizziness to osteoporosis, increased risk of heart attacks, pneumonia, and lots more.

Within two weeks after withdrawal from treatment, they experience even worse heartburn, regurgitation and other GERD symptoms than ever — so they have to go right back on the expensive PPI drug therapy.

Thing is there is ways of staying off it and correcting the problem with acid coming back naturally and one should be looking into them even before they stop taking the PPIs.  For myself I could never be happier that I got off them and able to stay off them. It’s been 8 months now and no relapse at all.  After twenty some years too, amazing.  Well thought I would share with you folks as I know what it’s like to have this problem and one shouldn’t have to suffer this way.  My Opinion Only

New Addition For Equipment & Things

Took a picture of a lean-to that I am adding to the back of our store.  Need a bit more storage for my mowers and things and now can drive the riding mower right in along with the snow-blower come winter. Will be nice to have it so near the house, as my old spot was down over the hill and we are thinking of taking it down, before it falls down.  So thought I would share. Will take another as things get done.  Talk Soon.

Garden Update Here In Port Loring Ontario

Well looks like we are in for some warmer sunnier weather in the coming weeks.  Sure needed too if we want to get any tomatoes and things.  Got lots on my vines just small and not turning red yet. But that all will change if we get a few days of sunshine and warmth.  Zucchini is looking good and been eating it for the past two weeks now. Got to say they sure are tasty too.   Cucumbers are just starting, so think they will be ok too just need a few week of growing season to get them to size.   Cauliflower is coming along, picked one head yesterday for supper.  I like it raw with home made garlic dip.  Good for ya too.  Brussels Sprouts are starting to take form, but they are late anyways, so I am thinking they will be ok also.  Carrots are real good this year, we been eating them to for the past week.  Real tasty.  Herbs also are growing real well this year in-spite of the wet, cool, sunless, weather.  Beans it seems is going to be down from last year.  Might have to move my location next year too.  But the word is that beans is not so good anywhere this year.  But that can change. Mine are out in blossom now, so still lots of time.  Shouldn’t  jump the gun with a prediction I guess, as old Mother Nature has a way of doing things all on her own.  Strawberries are over, but had a real good crop this year. Got a bunch in the freezer and have made up some nice jam already, and, gave our boys a couple jars for a taste. More jam will come later.  Rasberries are on now and have been  picking a bowl a night.  I don’t have to many plants, I got rid of my old ones and planted some thornless ones.  Got to say they sure are nice and sweet. Real old variety but strong and they don’t cross to easily with the wild ones, which grows in abundance around my home here, which isn’t a good thing.   They grow up to around six feet tall these ones.  Nice to pick too, being thornless.   Well guess that’s it for now on the garden update.  All and all not a bad year so far.  Even the store is going ok now.  Was  a bit slow in the beginning, but picking up now. The last few days  cars were lined up in the driveway.  So……………………….not complaining in that department.  Talk Soon

Tomatoes For Heart Disease,Cancer,The List Goes On

For a long time now here on my Blog, I have been letting folks know the benefits on eating healthy foods. Like Broccoli and Tomatoes for the prevention of Cancer.   Scientists now  say, that a natural ingredient  in tomatoes, taken daily, can stave off heart disease, strokes and lower Cholesterol immensely.  On the cholesterol part, I don’t believe there is such a thing as bad cholesterol, I just think it’s a ploy to make billions of dollars, but that is my thinking alone. So there you have it, just one more reason to pick up a copy of my new gardening book called,  Join Me In The Garden” and get to planting your own veggies.  The book though doesn’t just stop there, as there is all kinds of other things through out it. Like how to make your own medicines out of plants, recipes, even a few good old time stories that came my way over the years, and, well just to many to name.  Have a great day and get out there and make yourself a fresh tomato sandwich for lunch.  Home made bread preferably.
