Morning Report Aug 13/2020

Good Morning! It’s another great day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shinning with just a few clouds which makes things nice. Winds are light coming in from the East North East. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 15.7 C | 60.26 F. It will warm up a lot as the day moves forward. Actually it will become quite hot for the next three days. Things then should cool down somewhat. Which will make things nice for working outside. Highway 522 is busy as usual with lots of new folks moving around and coming in from the big cities. Knowing that more care in staying safe is warranted. Yesterday I got a lot done in our cottage to be, and today will continue. It’s starting to take shape. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee on the front porch, and then will get to work. Nice to be able to do these things. Comes from years of experience. LOL Take care, stay safe and do what’s right, not what some others are doing.

Today my old weather stick is saying that fishing won’t be that good. I give it a 1-Star Rating out of 5 for catching a few. But you never know. If you’re in the right place at the right time … fish will be on your plate for supper. On another note it would be a good idea to make sure you have a hat when out on the water. It can get quite hot, and we don’t need anyone getting sick, with too much sun. Take care, good Luck … and stay safe.

Good Morning! To start things off it looks like we are in the midst of another great day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shinning and the winds are light coming in from the East North East. And the temperature is quite nice sitting at 17.8 C | 64.04 F. Things will warm up some as the day progresses and could get a touch hot. Highway 522 is very busy these days with lots of newbies coming into our area. Care has to be taken … more so these days with this virus. Just takes one to start the ball rolling. It’s not like it has gone away. Today I will continue working away on our cottage to be. Lots to do … but I think I can see some light at the end of the tunnel. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife on the front porch, and will let the day unfold around me as it so chooses to do. Stay safe … and do what’s right, when it comes to this virus.

Morning Report Aug 10/2020

Good Morning! Things are a bit cloudy with a few lingering showers here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We should see a wee bit of sunshine later on this morning. Temperatures yesterday got quite warm and the heat will remain with us for the next 6 or 7 days, along with lots of sunshine. We can’t say that we aren’t getting our summer this year. Myself I don’t care for the heat that much, but not much one can do about it other than pick a nice shady spot outside, and pull up a chair. Which I will do later on. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 20.6 C | 69.08 F but as I say it will become quite hot shortly. Highway 522 is still quite busy with lots of new folks moving into and through our area, so care has to be taken even more with this virus. Yesterday I did get a lot of work done in our cottage to be, and will be out there again today. Actually nice to be doing something different for a change. Once I get my part done my lovely wife will get busy and decorate it with items we ordered and have. Should be quite nice when all said and done. With that … I am off for a bite to eat, and will let the day unfold around me. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right!

Morning Report Aug 9/2020

Good Morning! Cloudy morning with some light rain for us here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. There is a Heat Warning in effect until 9:15 PM. I wouldn’t think it will be that bad with the clouds and rain in our area. A touch muggy maybe. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 19.3 C | 66.74 F at the time of this post, which is quite nice … actually. Highway 522 is very busy these days with folks coming in from all over. More care will have to be taken and even more when the kids go back to school, as when that happens I am thinking things will get a lot … worse. Today I will be working away in our cottage to be. It’s starting to take shape now. It’s amazing how doing a bit at a time gets things done. With that, I am off for a bite to eat and will then get to work. Have a great day, stay safe … and stay away from congregations of any kind.

COVID Alert Link

For those that are looking after yourselves and others, here is the new Government App that lets you know if when you are near someone with the virus. I did a lot of research on the subject and from what I make out, it is every bit as safe as any other App you are enjoying now. Actually a lot more. Some say I am not going to let the Powers that Be know what I am doing and things like that. Truth be told … that is nonsense, as they know everything there is to know about you anyway. I figure anything that helps me and my lovely wife stay clear of this virus is a good thing. The more that use it, the better it becomes. Up to you … Here is the link, stay safe and do what’s right.

Morning Report Aug 8/2020

Good Morning! Another great looking day is shaping up for us here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shining once again, the sun is shinning and the winds are light, coming in from the south south-west. What could be better than that? Temperatures waking up were sitting at 15.7 C | 60.26 F. It will get much warmer as the day progresses. Later on next week things could get quite hot once again for a few days. But it is summer, and we did have a long winter. Highway 522 is really busy these days with folks coming in from all over. The one thing that bothered me a wee bit on the way to town the other day, was all the garbage that the tourists are throwing out their car windows. One car directly in front of us threw out two Tim Horton Cups right in the middle of the road. “It’s bad for the environment, it’s bad for wildlife and it sure isn’t nice to look at.” What it does do though … is it shows the mentality of some people. I can’t understand people like that. I should also say here I am not blaming Tim Hortons, it’s the people that are the problem. On another note being such a nice day, I will be working away on our cottage to-be … finishing up the trim work, which will take most of the day. Later on I figure a cool drink on our front porch with my lovely wife will be in order. We did manage to get all our mowing done yesterday, and things are looking nice around our home here. It’s a great piece of property, looks like a park. With that I am off for a bite to eat, and will let the day unfold around me. Take care, stay safe … and do what’s right!

Morning Report Aug 7/2020

Good Morning! It’s looking like another great day for us here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shinning without a cloud in the sky. Temperatures are about perfect sitting at 14.2 C | 57.56 F. It will warm up as the day progresses. Highway 522 is slowing down a wee bit but it is early. Here again things will pick up as the day progresses. Yesterday my wife and I took a trip to town to pick up some groceries we ordered along with a few other things. Seen our son in his apartments parking lot from a distance, had lunch in our car with a nice cup of coffee my lovely wife made for us and came back home. Great day all way round. The trip in and back was nice too. Good to get away now and then. Lots to see this time of year which makes it even nicer. Today we will be doing some mowing around the house here and then this afternoon we will set back and admire it and relax for a bit. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will then get the mowers running. Sometimes that is a challenge in itself. LOL Take care, stay safe and do what’s right with this virus that is going around. GW

Good Morning! Today here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada will be really nice weather wise. The sun is shinning and not to hot, with temperatures at the moment sitting at 12.7 C | 54.86 F. It will warm up some as the day progresses. It’s a day that you can do just about anything outside. My kind of weather. Highway 522 is busy which is a norm for this time of year. Yesterday I worked most of the day on our cottage to be, and got a lot done. Today will be much the same. With that not much more to say here this morning. I am off for my morning cup of tea with my lovely wife on the front porch, and will let the day do as it wants. Not that I have much choice in the matter. LOL Take care, stay safe and do what’s right. GW

Morning report Aug 5/2020

Good Morning! Looking outside it looks like it is going to be a great day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shinning and not to hot. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 14.1 C | 57.38 F. It will warm up as the day progresses … and taking a look at the long range forecast, I am thinking we will be having the best of the best for the next two weeks. Hardly no bugs to speak off, lots of sunshine and not overly hot. Can’t beat that. Front porch sittin’ time is upon us here in the north. Truth be told, that is what every one should be doing, not running around all over the place. But hey! That’s me. Yesterday I did manage to get things all ready to do some more work in the new cottage to be. Cleaned up my shop which was one heck of a mess, and now that the ceiling is in I can get busy and do some trim work. Lots to do … but when all said and done it will be a great looking cottage. Highway 522 is busy as usual and lots of folks moving into our area buying up everything in sight. Myself I would think hanging onto your property would be the best thing to do at the moment, as this time next year property will be worth twice as much as it is today. But in saying that, prices of properties have risen a lot this year in our area. Why is that? Well … folks are finally finding out that being in places that there are a lot of people, isn’t a good thing, especially with this virus going around. You could say it is a wake-up call of what is truly important in life. So with that information under your hat, if you wear a hat … I am off for my morning cup of Dandelion Tea on the front porch with my lovely wife. The body likes it once in a while. Take care, stay safe, and do what’s right.

Morning Report August 4/2020

Good Morning!. Hope you are all well this morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Elsewhere, too of course. Looking outside the skies are cloudy, and we could see some showers throughout the day. Temperatures are a bit cool this morning sitting at 15.8 C | 60.44 F. It won’t warm up much more. Highway 522 is quite busy this morning with lots of folks out about. On another note I have never seen so many homes being sold and bought up by outsiders within the past 15 years. Also, a lot of repairs being done to some older homes. Trailers are everywhere by the hundreds parked in driveways, by homes, in the bush, you name it … all trying to get out of the cities away from the virus. And I can’t say I blame them one bit. And … as long as they take the precautions necessary, I am good with that too. Some aren’t though which makes it a bit scary. Today I will be working in the new to be cottage. It’s going to be a real nice cottage once all said and done with all new features and furniture in the inside. Once I get finished with my part which will take me a couple of weeks my wife will then do her part with the things we ordered online. The good thing about ordering online with certain things is a person doesn’t have to go into the stores which is what I like. So with that … I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife and will then see about doing some work. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right.

Morning Report August 3/2020

Good Morning!. It’s a cloudy morning waking up here in Port Loring Ontario, Canada. Temperatures were sitting at 12.3 C | 54.14 F. It won’t get to much warmer than that today. Which will be kind of nice for a change. We should see a wee bit of sunshine later on this morning with some more rain moving into our area late in the day and through tonight. Highway 522 is really busy these days with folks moving around. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if folks did what they should be doing, like wearing a mask, social distancing and especially not getting together in groups. I feel that these folks that are going to church, movies, parties, restaurants and places like that, are the ones that will make things a lot worse. I can’t for the life of me see … why these folks think, that just because the Powers That Be say these places are open, figure they are safe to go into. As they aren’t, and they are and will be the ones that spread it to others, more so than it is spreading now. It only takes one person to start the ball rolling. Damn shame too. The next thing that is going to make things even worse, is the opening of our schools. Them little guys will spread this around like wildfire. Not their fault mind ya, as they are being told what to do by us older folks that should have enough sense to see this, but unfortunately for some reason they don’t. Makes me shake my head. Anyways … that is my rant for this morning. Have a great day and in spite of what some are doing … I hope you … do right. Stay safe. GW

Good Morning! Well it’s not going to be the greatest day weather wise. There are storm warnings up for our area. It is quite dark already but it is early. Today I have some outside work to do but not sure how long I will be able to be out there. But I also got some inside work to do too so not without anything to keep my busy. Highway 522 is really busy these days with folks moving around and coming in from all over. On another note I did manage to get my veggie garden all opened up yesterday, so the sunshine can get at things. That should help with the ripening of things. Lots of cucumber and zucchini at the moment. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will then see what develops weather wise. It has cooled down a lot with temperatures this morning sitting at 18.6 C | 65.48 F. Have a great day and stay safe. GW
