It’s a cloudy morning here in Northern Ontario, Canada. And it is still quite cool with the temperature getting out of bed sitting at -10.8 C | 12.56 F. But in saying that things will start to warm up a lot as the day moves forward, and we will be seeing a lot of melting for the next couple of weeks. Which is fine with me, as I am ready for summer and seeing green instead of white when I look out the window. It’s been a long winter. Highway 522 is bare, which will make things nice if you have to go anywhere.

And speaking of going anywhere. The price we are paying for lumber and gas in Canada is terrible, and there is no reason for it. Our government spent millions and more millions of taxpayers dollars, on a pipeline that they shut down, which would have supplied all we needed and then some. They say they want to go green, what a joke that is. We here in Canada are supposed to go green, but yet we supply other countries. Another joke. On the next bit we are supposed to be a peace keeping country we don’t fight, instead we supply other countries with all kinds of weapons, so they can fight. I shake my head in wonder where these so-called powers brains are. Well, I could tell you where … I think their heads are located, but I don’t think I need to.

Damn … what a way to start off a day, sheesh, I think I will go back to bed and get up again. Have a great day, If that is possible. GW

It’s a sunny morning here in Northern Ontario. However, it is still a touch cool with the temperature sitting at -8.9 C | 15.98 F. It will warm up a bit as the day moves forward, and even warmer for tomorrow. And on Wednesday, what can I say, other than we will be well above the freezing mark. No need to go to Florida for March break with those temperatures. Ha Ha. Truth be told, I can’t see why anyone would want to travel yet anyway, with all that is going on in the world today. But hey! Who am I to judge. Highway 522 is mostly bare, but there are some snowy, icy sections throughout.

Yesterday we had another3-4 inches of new snow, but it won’t last long with the temperature on the upswing.

On another note, I didn’t do much yesterday, didn’t feel all that well. I have something going on with my one eye being red and damn sore, not sure what that is all about. Seems a wee bit better today. I told it if it doesn’t get better, I will have to give my doctor friend a call. That usually helps. Ha Ha. Always something these days. With that, I am off for a bowl of cereal this morning that my lovely wife is making me, and will then see if I can write up a story or two. Depends on how this old eye is doing. Have a great day. So how you all doing on this fine Sunday Morning? Good I hope. However, in saying that it is cold outside, and we are having a wee bit of snow. Nothing to speak of as yet. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling pretty good if you’re in need of some things in the big cities. We are doing okay as my lovely wife and I went to town yesterday and picked up a few things which should hold us over for a couple of weeks or more.

It is nice to get away, but it is also nice to get back home. While there we said hello to our son for a minute as we are still taking precautions, had lunch in our car and headed on home. All in all, it was a great day, other than the cost of things. Seems, just two bags of groceries these days can run a feller around a $100.00 or more. And the price of gas sitting at $1.96 a Litter is sure eye-opening. Where it was costing us around $30.00 to go to North Bay and back home is now costing us around $50.00. Makes me shake my head on the way we are heading here in Canada these days.

Other than that, not much else happening in and around our community. Stay safe. GW

What’s Happening On March 12/2022

It’s a sunny day here in Northern Ontario, Canada. It looks nice, but it’s still cold with the temperature waking up sitting at, -12.8 C | 8.96 F. It will remain cold pretty well all day. This should be the last day of the real cold weather, as things will begin to warm up well above the freezing mark starting Tuesday. Highway 522 has some snow and icy covered areas throughout. Travelling today, should be fair once the sun warms the pavement. On the not good side of the coin, late in the day and into tonight, we could see another three inches of snow, which will linger around into Monday. Myself, I am ready to wake up to green instead of white.

On another note, I was kept busy yesterday helping my lovely wife move things around in our home. Getting things ready for our small gift shop that we want to open come spring.

Other than the snowmobiles, not much else happening in and around our small town.

With that, I am off to put a piece of wood in our wood furnace along with feeding our birds, as they are sitting on our porch railing, looking in at me. After that, we will see what the day has in store. Have a great day. Don’t forget, the time moves forward after midnight tonight. GW

It’s a sunny day here in Northern Ontario, The temperature isn’t all that bad, neither. Getting out of bed, it was sitting at -3.4 C | 25.88 F. And it will warm up a lot as the day moves forward. Feeding our birds this morning, I could feel the warmth of the sunshine on my face. It felt good too. Feeling that is a sure sign, that the warm weather isn’t that far off. Highway 522 is bare and mostly dry this morning, which will make travelling good.

On another note, now that the weather is starting to head off into the right direction, my wife and I are going to start getting our small Gift Shop in order, so we can have a Grand Reopening. Which should be around the 24th of May if things goes to plan. We have been close because of this virus now for over two years. We are looking forward to seeing all our friends that usually always dropped by for a visit, along with new folks. I will do some special posts here on my Blog of how things are going occasionally.

With that, I am off for some homemade waffles that my lovely wife is making me, and will then get to work. Lots to do now that things are warming up. Have a great day and stay safe! This virus is still out there, not as bad as the earlier strains, but it still has the potential of making a person pretty sick. GW
