Good Morning!

It’s a sunny morning here in Port Loring. The wind is coming in from the North North East. However even with the sunshine it is a bit cool this morning with the temperature getting out of bed sitting at 7.3 C | 45.14 F. It is nice for sleeping though. Highway 522 is quiet once again but that is to be expected this time of year. Although in saying that, we did have a very busy day here at our small store yesterday. So no complaints in that department. With most places being closed people were looking for places to go. A lot just wanted to chat, which I am good at. Ha ha.

Yesterday I worked away here on my new mystery novel. It kept my mind off of things. Which is a good thing. Today I will try and walk around some outside taking in some sunshine. It won’t be long and it will be to cold to be outside much. I am not much liking the cold weather these days.

On another note if some one happens to know where a fellow could buy a good used Side by Side or a used Golf Cart with a top, I would like to hear from you. Being that it is hard to get around anymore I was thinking of getting one for next year. Can’t hurt to ask. Lots of new ones out there, but from what I can see they are all to expensive, least for my wife and I.

With that I am off for bite to eat that my lovely wife is making for me, and will then see what the day has in store. Have a great day and stay safe. Lots of people still dying from this virus that is still with us. I will be glad when someone comes up with something that fixes it for good. It all boils down to money. You know … if just one of our riches men on earth would say … hand over one Billion Dollars towards say Cancer … it would be no more, as would other diseases. I can’t understand how they can get out of bed in the mornings knowing that they could make a difference and don’t. I know if I had the money I sure would. Again … have a great day. GW

Good Morning!

It’s a cloudy cool morning here in Port Loring. We did have some rain yesterday, but could have used more with it being so dry. Highway 522 is quiet this morning. But that is to be expected rolling into fall. The leaves are starting to show color a wee bit as each day passes us by. I have to admit I am not ready for the cold temperatures. By the looks of things though, we will be having a cold winter with lots of snow. At least that is what nature is saying. We will see.

On another note I didn’t do all that much yesterday other than work away on a story or two for my columns. It seems that is all I am able to do these days. I am missing my woodworking shop.

Not much else happening around our small town these days. Most people are starting to close up their cottages and leaving the area for another year. Kind of sad to see them go.

With that I am off for a bowl of oatmeal that my lovely wife made for me, and will then see what the day has in store.

Good Morning! I was woken this morning with lots of thunder. With the sky being black in the west I suspect a storm is heading our way. We could use the rain as everything is in need of a drink. Starting to look like a dust bowl out there. The temperature waking up was sitting at 18.3 C | 64.94 F. After today though we will be back to sunshine and it should remain with us for most of the week.

With the long weekend upon us traffic today is quiet. Those that are taking a holiday are already settled in. With the kids going back to school most parents will be heading back home on Sunday which will make traveling not that good.

On another note I worked away on my new book yesterday and later on I went for a walk thinking I would stretch my legs. But I was hit with some mare bad pain so spent the rest of the day in bed. I was starting to think I had this thing licked. Today I will be taking it easy here in my lazy boy chair. With that I am off for my breakfast that my lovely wife will be making for me shorty, after she puts a load of laundry in our old washer. And it is old as we bought it well over thirty years ago. Good Morning!

It’s cool morning here in Port Loring. The temperature waking up was sitting at 9.9 C | 49.82 F. However the sun is shinning which should warm things up in a couple hours or so. Actually things weather wise will be quite nice for the next 4 days with warmer than normal temperatures entering into the picture starting tomorrow. So summer isn’t done with us yet.

Although when my wife and I were going for groceries in North Bay we have noticed that the leaves on the Maples are just starting to show some color. I have to admit I am not ready for winter yet. But not much you can do about it. Highway 522 was quite busy yesterday with folks moving around. Not sure where they were going with only two main stores in town. Some cars and trucks i see going by our house 4 or 5 times a day. Just checking things out I suspect. To each their own I always say.

With the winds coming in from the west along with the sunshine and cooler temperatures, fishing should be pretty good this week. I haven’t put my boat in the water for three years now. First with the virus and then this year not being well. I am hoping next year things will get better. I do miss getting out there with my fishing buddy Barry.

With that I am off for my morning bowl of cereal, and a piece of toast that my lovely wife is making for me, and will then see what the day has in store. Stay safe. GW

Good Morning! It’s a great looking day here in Port Loring, Ontario Canada. The sun is shinning with just a few clouds in the sky. The temperature has dropped a bit. Getting out of bed it was sitting at 13.7 C | 56.66 F. Nice for sleeping.

Highway 522 is slowing down traffic wise, but that is to be expected heading into September. Time sure fly’s in this neck of the woods. My oldest son dropped by a couple weeks ago and while he was here my wife and him put in our firewood for winter. I wasn’t able to do it. I am happy about that. And Barry my old fishing buddy has been dropping by giving us hand when needed. Nice to have friends for sure.

On another note, we did open our store this year and it has been doing well. Nice to chat to folks once again. Our vegetable garden also did well this year and our garlic was fantastic. We are selling a few veggies and things on our wagon out front of our home that I built early in the year. People have been buying up our tomatoes and coming back for more. I have to admit they are very tasty this year. We also planted some yellow low acid ones and they turned out great too and very tasty. My wife and I have been enjoying them daily. Our Pumpkins also did well this year and are ready to pick. Good size too. Even our cucumbers and potatoes did well.

With that … I am off for a bowl of cereal that my lovely wife is making for me, and will then get back to working on a mystery novel, the first of a series … which is a bit of a change from what I usually write. Having fun with it. It’s going to be an interesting book, or so I been told. Ha ha. We will see. Have a great day and stay safe. GW
