Good Morning:  Damp cold morning here in Port Loring Ontario.  Feels more like Fall than spring.  But things will start to change after today for the better.  Okay by me as I sure enjoy the outdoors.  Garlic is sure putting on a show these days edging up to near ten inches.  Will make for some tasty meals come summer. Good Morning:  Rainy day here in Port Loring Ontario Canada. But much-needed as it has been quite dry. Will do the gardens a world of good. I did manage to get my gardens tilled up a few days ago so the earth could breathe a bit before planting. Next week will pick up a few plants of choice and plant them in their new home. Good Morning:  Well another really nice day here in Port Loring Ontario. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 12.4 C | 54.32 F. Great weather to do just about anything one has a mind too. Myself I have steadily been cleaning up around the old homestead bringing it into what will make for a nice summer of relaxation and enjoyment. Nothing nicer than to sit out and take in ones accomplishments. Vegetable gardens will soon be on the list of things to do which will keep me busy. Not that I mind, mind ya as I don’t think there is any place I would rather be, than in my garden with hoe in hand. Seems to relax me for some reason. I guess the farmer part hasn’t left me. With that enjoy your day and soak up some of that sunshine. Once you get over the fifty mark the body only produces half of the Vitamin D 3 that is necessary. A supplement of 1000 mg a day along with the sunshine is what is needed.

Good Morning:  Cloudy morning starting things off here in Port Loring Ontario. Also got a touch cool and will remain so for most of the day. Things will warm up a touch tomorrow and then even warmer on Tuesday. Sunshine will be with us though which is what is needed. Black Flies are out now starting to annoy folks. Keep covered if venturing outside where they are at their worst, as their bites can itch for more than a week. Mothers Day to Fathers day is their trend it seems. Today will do a bit more cleaning up around the place which I enjoy doing every spring. Good Morning:  Shaping up to be a beauty of a day here in Port Loring.  Sun is shinning, not too cold and warmer temperatures will be upon us for a couple of days. Wife and I took a drive to Niagara for a few days to visit out son and it never ceases to amaze me how things are growing in the big cities.  Also noticed a lot of the smaller towns are cleaning up their main streets and becoming part of the big picture once again. Great to see. Back home now with lots to do before Black Fly Season. Gardens need to be tilled and a few cold weather plants such as spinach, kale and romaine lettuce will be planted. Garlic from last fall’s planting is up around six inches already. Amazing how some plants can endure our cold northern climates. With that you all have a great day, soak up some of that much-needed sunshine and make it a good day. Only you can do that.

Good Morning:  A bit cloudy here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Waking up temperatures were sitting at 8.5 C | 47.3 F.   Won’t be long and we will be thinking about planting our gardens. I did get my tiller out and make sure it started up.   Also got my lawn-mowers working as by the looks of the grass it won’t be long before I have to do some cutting. Doesn’t take long for things to change around once the snow disappears. Took a trip to North Bay yesterday to visit my son Karl. He took us out to Montana’s for dinner. Great restaurant, food is good with a good atmosphere.  Had a great time then headed on home. Seems to me folks need to get out more often, especially after a long cold winter.  Enjoy your day.
